Hello! I just got my A-1 1100mm skyraider and while she may not have as much detail as the corsair... I love it! It looks great and I've got everything hooked up. But I was doing some testing while I set my flaps/servo epa/ and so on I found the esc to get very hot. I did not even turn over the motor. This lead me to believe that there are too many servos for the standard bec on this 35amp esc.
My manual states that I should use an UBEC, I'm confused... Is it telling me to avoid using the esc's built in bec? Does this also show in the other durafly manuals? |

Ditch the stock ESC mate.
I use that crap 35amp for my glider that draws 20 amp. I replace 2 of my duralfys with the TURNIGY SENTRY 40amp ESC, but looks like they are not available anymore, This one would be its replacement, You get what you pay for :) Been over a year with dozens of flights without a problem with mine. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__12191__TURNIGY_TRUST_45A_SBEC_Brushless_Speed_Controller.html explanation of it the BEC :) http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1222157 Get this program card to go with it, makes for easy adjustments :) http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=2169 Edited by Zutta - 31/May/2012 at 7:34pm |
