Just wanted to know if i can put a 45amp TURNIGY TRUST esc into a AXN floater? Recommend is a 20amp but can i go higher. I intend on buying the AXN with just the motor from the Aus warehouse but they don't stock the correct ESC. I have servos and batteries.

The only problem is liable to be the weight and physical size of the ESC. As far as I know the current rating is the maximum it can handle and it should be able to handle a lower current

I don't care what it says on the profile - I'm so NOT GB!

Yes, size/weight will be the only problem you might encounter but there's no reason why you can't fit a bigger ESC than the recommended 25/30A one.

They do have THIS 20 amp one. I have the PNP version of the AXN and have been using the 20 amp speedy that came with it for about 6 months now. I've done a few things to give it extra cooling because it does get fairly warm. A bit higher capacity would be good but one of the probs as well as extra weight is finding space for it, there's not a lot of spare room in there but you can always do a bit of carving. You could of course order something like a 25 amp Turnigy Plush from the international warehouse where there's a much bigger range of everything to choose from.

The trouble is that the stock standard AXN will draw *almost* 20A at full throttle so using a 20A ESC is marginal.
A 2A BEC is also very marginal too -- if you intend to throw your AXN around at all. I've seen too many AXNs that go very bad with 4-servos and a 2A BEC. Do a snap roll and you may never recover -- especially if the ESC is already getting hot from some roaring around at speed. |

Yep, many of the AXNs in our club have those ESCs and they work just fine. Bonus is that they're programmable using the really cheap HK programming wheel/card. |

I have watched most of your videos on the AXN. reason for not wanting to purchase the 20amp 2A that hobbyking recommends and have in stock in aus.. I wish the aus warehouse stocked the ESC you used in your build videos but they don't and shipping prices are to much at the moment to purchase just a single item. Is there enough space in the AXN for me to play with to try fit the 45amp esc.. Its 3 inches in length, half inches in height and 1 inches across. weights 32grams. |

International air mail on the 30 amp one airwave linked to is only $2.99 and another dollar if you want registered airmail. That doesn't sound like much to me. For that price you have another 53 grams you could fill up for no extra shipping cost too. That covers another speedy the same or some servos, or whatever.
