Please don't mix Philip headed bolts/screws with LOCTITE,even the weakest
one,one slip with the screw-driver and then comes the grinder or drill. They have used Allen screws on most fittings and they go ahead with Philips and Torx head bolts/screws Go to your nearest hardware store and buy some Allen/hex bolts. you will not regret it |

Ive had been using thread lockers of varying strength with Philips head screws and it worked fine. The trick is the use very little of the appropriate strength locker, it will hold well and be easy to remove. If ever so happen if it is too tight to be unscrewed, add a little heat and it will turn nicely.
Key notes: 1. Use the correct type of thread locker(so there is no need to overtighten to hold well) 2. Use very little (such as wetting only the tip of one side) 3. Do not over-tighten. 4. Heat removes the strongest of thread lock, don't force it if the torque is too much, heat it first! Edited by FusionTiger - 07/Mar/2012 at 2:24pm |
