Thanks for all the kind words !!!
Got 12 flights with the jet, about 2.5 hours of running time on the turbine and about 30l of fuel consumed :-) Here are some more pics :
Watch the heat trail on the next one :-)
The guy with the transmitter on the next pic is NOT flying my jet, but a glider :-)

Nice Jet!! I have 4 turbines now (Funsonic 70 propane start and also a kero start version a Wren Mw 54 and last and very tiny indeed, a Jet Joe Junior also a beautiful turbine) and only 1 (The kero start Funsonic 70) fitted in to a jetmach 60 it flies beautifully also. Good speed and super easy slow landings.

Added missiles. A jetfighter should be armed and dangerous :-)
On a front view you can see that the jet has a fair amount of anhedral, but it still flys very stable

Good looking plane you've got there! I am starting to get into jets also. But will have to wait for a while. I am thinking of buying FlyFly Sabre.
Here are some pictures of Aermacchi MB339 that my club friend has. This was his second flight. ![]() ![]() Edited by Pisaneli - 03/Sep/2009 at 5:53am |

There are three simple rules for making a smooth landing. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are. |

That's a nice MB339 your friend has there :-) In fact the guy I bought my jet from also bought a MB339 to replace it.
Did 2 flights with the missiles on today. Got a new topspeed too : 328 km/h.

Beautiful plane. Small working rockets & igniters would be a nice touch. Saw them on a video somewhere on the net, probably uTube or Vimeo, & they worked & looked great. Could be illegal though.

I can only remember half of what I say.... I used to walk on water 'til I found out it was more fun sitting in the boat drinking beer Ron |

Wouldn't be too hard to do ron, some people at my club already fire firework from their foam planes (sometimes toasts the foamy)
But it is illegal in Belgium to launch anything from a plane and it is dangerous too. We don't have the wide open spaces here that you do have in the States. A missile launched from a plane could easily go 1km far and there's no telling what it will hit there. As a side note, I remember when I visited the USA we went to visit a hydro power lake/dam and took a guided tour of the facility. The guide told us that the lake was 160 miles across. When the lady guide explained that the hydro turbines were made by a Belgian factory she saw a glimps of recognition on my face and asked if I was from Belgium. I said yes. She asked if we also had such lakes in Belgium. Is said no. She asked why not ? I said because then half of Belgium would be flooded. Belgium is only roughly 200 miles across. She said Oh my god ! So firing missiles from a 300 km/h jet, although appealing, is a big no-no here :-) |
