I am using 1200 kva motors with 25amp Plush ESCs and get at least 10 min using my old 2200Mah 3s heli batteries. Haven't tried the watt meter as current draw looks pretty low anyway so no concerns there.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes & dreams.

Hello,
If you use Hobby king SS (non card programmable) ESC's, as far as I know throttle calibrates itself when selecting a batterry type. I have five of them and I calibrated as I described. For a quad it is adviced to use NiCd/NiMh selection. Therefore you should select NiCd after two beeps. I calibreted all my ESCs together when connected to HK KK board. Sometimes one ESC could not callibrated as others, try calibrating directly connecting it to the receiver, make all the settings same as others and try recalibrating them together when they are connected to KK board. |

After reading through this topic here is what I got out the discussions.
1. All ESC's should be of the same make and size preferable card programable. 2. All ESC's should be programed exactly the same either with the transmitter or and ESC programming card. 3. Each ESC should have its throttle calibrated using the receiver and transmitter, one at a time. 4. After the ESC's are installed on the QUAD they need to have their throttles programmed together using the method in the manual. This procedure may require more than 1 time to get all motors starting at the same time and running at the same speed. DO NOT FORGET TO SET THE YAW POT TO ZERO AND BACK TO 50% WHEN FINISHED. 5. It is preferable to use Turnegy PLUSH ESC's. Does this cover the main points of this topic? Edited by Wally2 - 08/Jul/2012 at 8:17am |
