ykhean 3s will burn the stock esc and motor. everytime i plug my 3s the stock motor gets really hot after a few minutes of running.
@ez i think the stock esc is really like that because its not programmable with drag brake and start up punch |

I got one of the c hubs and steering knuckles on but I ran in to a few problems. The screws that connect them together that you can see in the 2nd pic (one in the top and one in the bottom) are a few millimetres too long and slot in to these and stop the wheel from turning.
I loosened it off so it spins freely but the screws are barely holding it there and its all wobbly. I'm not sure if I can get shorter screws and I don't have anything to file them down with other than trying to buzz it with a angle grinder. They cant be used like they are at the moment until I figure something out with the screws.

The screws that get caught on the wheel drive thing, these came with the new C hubs and have shorter screws than the plastic ones but still they stick out more.
This below is a standard one, the screws are in it and tight and they don't stick in to the wheel drive area at all.

Can you use thin washers under the heads to space them back a bit more EZ?
Failing that grind the screw length a little to give the required clearance? Edited by trumpy - 01/Oct/2011 at 9:50pm |

Trumpy!
Does anybody know how to cancel a bid on e-Bay? I put in a bid for a “Cowboy Outfit” and it seems I’m only six minutes away from owning the Australian Labor Government ! |

I tried some washers but they didn't fit. one was too big around the outside and the other the hole was too small.
I'm thinking about grinding them but im not sure if holding them with pliers and buzzing them on a angle grinder will do the trick or just wreck them. And 1 side will need a washer as the plastic part the knuckle is supposed to slide on when it turns is too short. I can't believe they make these and you have to modify them to work. Screws are too long, plastic sleeve spacers are too short. |

the angle grinder might be a bit harsh , no bench grinder or dremel available? clamp em in a vice and hand file maybe

I didn't get around to fixing the C hubs and knuckles but I got a fair bit done.
First I changed all the shocks and put body mounts for when I get the new body.
Comparing the motors.
Everything hooked up but ESC and Rx are just sitting there loose.
On/Off switch fits tight under the wing holder, Ill use some double sided tape to keep it there.
Before
After
Everything went pretty well apart from the rear shocks feel pretty crappy, they don't have any oil in them so it will probably be fine when I get some. |
