I never try those planes but for me, it's not the best plane for beginning.. little, quick responses, suggest to wind..
I think you need some skills to fly this bird. mini 600mm cesna is better, but i thing you have to choose bigger and easier plane like J3 Cub 750mm or J3 cub 955mm (same style of my first plane - Kyosho j3 cub but old brushed motor! ^^). It's 3 way > smooth movments, and it's cheap. you need to buy all electronics, but for the price... ;) |

More than $100 (once shipping is included) but a *much* better option for people who want to learn to fly RC:
What's the best RC plane for learning to fly? |

I am with Bruce , save up the little extra and get the AXN , its tougher, nicer to fly , takes a hit better , and has a broad flight envelope so you wont get bored . It is almost self righting in most circumstances .
The other planes you listed are twitchy and not so stable for a beginner , with the amount of repairs and fixing you will do to them while you are learning , you could easily afford the AXN in comparison

Does anybody know how to cancel a bid on e-Bay? I put in a bid for a “Cowboy Outfit” and it seems I’m only six minutes away from owning the Australian Labor Government ! |

Nice plane Red , but again fast and twitchy , small does not mean safe , as aerodynamics ( and air itself) does not scale so well .
the Swift would be good as a second or third plane tho . The Cheapest and best option for you might be the Tuff trainer |

Thats what i thought to and after $200 of busted foam I changed my mind
I got a GWS beaver and floated around, you get board after a bit. fly partner showed me a biger plane is better in a lot of ways as long as it flys well at slower speeds. |

very true Airwave ... I loved my little GWS pico stik back in the early 80's ( the first GWS plane lol ) , cheap as chips , great little plane for beginners ... sometimes the simple things are the best !
Red , on that line of thinking , is there anyone local that might have a GWS Slowstick still in stock ? That would be a great start for a DIY first plane ! |

Axn clouds is a great plane, my friend got one, it's really smooth, but it can be really 'fast' too.. if you 've NO skills at all, you can destroy it easily even if it's a foam plane ... train with sim before
