Actualy the closest I've come to being bitten was by a red bellied black and I've got to admit I don't blame him at all for striking at me something like a dozen times (felt like a dozen anyway).

I was doing a bit of prospecting up a valley with a mate near Sofala (for those that know of it). I jumped across the creek at the bottom, wearing of course my usual safety footware (thongs of course) and landed smack bang on top of this poor bugger having a nice relaxing snooze in the sun.

I realy would like to think I didn't hurt that poor snake too badly and he had a normal life after it. He wasn't in an area where he'd normaly be any danger to anyone apart from the fact they are actualy quite venomous they aren't normaly agressive at all. Quote Edited
