I suggest you keep your eyes open, Keeth, I live in the out suburbs of Melbourne, and I can assure you there are snakes around; I too, haven't seen any recently, but the local snake-catcher in Somerville is very busy.
I love the sound of crashing planes in the morning.

I would rather deal with skunks and bears. They normally go away from you. You have to be really stupid to get a bear to attack. In most cases a scream will chase them off. Getting between a momma and her cubs now is a death sentence. The bears get real upset when you do that.

Speaking of snakes. My boys were redoing their tarp swimming pool today, There was a baby King brown under the tarp, dont know how it got there with the weight of the water ontop of it. Any way my loaded flat headed stick tokk care of it....Just have look out for Mummy snake
