found the insert image tab!
boat, and gearbox arrangement, with the previous motor, quite easy to change the ratios providing I have the correct gears and belts! so back to the question, I need to know how many watts the turnigy 880kv outrunner is happy with, then I can work out the set up accordingly, but Im not sure what it is, no info available, anybody from HK looking in?

Well I guess the answer is , it should be happy at under 90 A draw which would give it around 1900W ,
nice boat though

Does anybody know how to cancel a bid on e-Bay? I put in a bid for a “Cowboy Outfit” and it seems I’m only six minutes away from owning the Australian Labor Government ! |

cheers trumpy, so 1900w and stay under 90amps (bother!)my 1:1 ratio gives between 95 to 104 amps at top speed, although a quick blip, and the 1.25:1 ratio is under powered, 70amps and 1450 ish watts, so I am in the process of fitting a 16tooth gear on drive shaft, and 14 tooth gear on motor, so thats kinda halfway house on the ratio, will have to give up some speed to try and protect the motor, unless anybody knows of a better motor!
many thanks |

I wouldn't disagree with Trumpy, but the 880kv T600 is actually rated at up to 8s - so using an 8s pack and running at 90A would imply a maximum power around 2700w.

Good point 2Doggs , and disagreeing with me is fine lol I am certainly not infallible , I was going on the info that the OP was running 2X 3S packs series'd to give a 6S pack .
Interesting to note the motor specs ARE written as 4-8S in the description but then it also states max voltage is 22V in the specs box
Only way to know is to let the magic smoke out LOL |

and the price of the T600's seems to have gone up due to their popularity. They're known to be good strong motors for the HK600, running on 8s, so I think the 22v figure in the table is a typical HK misprunt!
@pmdevlin - great looking boat, by the way, but do you always sail it without crew? Edited by 2Doggs - 22/Jul/2011 at 8:52am |
