as you reduce the field current the revs will increase.

Thanks again for the information Owll56 I will be adjusting both stator voltage and field current to get the torque and speed (power)combination. You have a good working knowledge of what I am trying to do. Have you put an alternator and rc esc together? If so I would enjoy hearing about what combo you used. All information is welcome.Thanks.

No I have not, but it is one of my fields, was an auto elec and several other fields as well.
I also think that tapping a cell on the battery is a bad idea, due to the fact that if that cell is lower charge than the others it will limit the total current available, also when charging this cell will never reach full charge due to series cells all charge at same current so when one cell is fully charged it will limit the current to all cells. See if you can get a DC speed controller or a brushed ESC with a servo tester to adjust the field current. Edited by Owll56 - 11/Jul/2011 at 2:08pm |

Thanks I looked at some of the youtube videos . I liked the one with the audi alternator. I went to the hardware store and got some angle iron to make a solid jig for testing. I would rather give a badger a bath then grab an alternator that is rolling away. That fan just looks mean.

I found that the fan by the pulley is an exhuast fan made to draw air in from the diode end. I re-entered the program mode and changed the rotation to clockwise. I only went to that parameter. My question is when you do that does all the previously programmed settings stay the same? It seems that way. Very user friendly.

Yes it should stay the same, only the setting you pick will change
some times you have to start all over to change another setting some times you don't that is ESC dependent. |

Thanks Airwave. I want what I am learning from this to be repeatable. You buy this, this and that .You put it altogether and this is what you get when your finished.
