Switch mode BEC's are still rare in ESC's. Most still have linear BEC's.

Finaly mine flies stable...
This is all new to me. so I had to figure it out myself..( with a little help from the internet..

I turned all the pots wide open and tuned them back bit by bit

All I have to do is learn to fly a quadro, learn, learn, learn, etc. and wait for the next shipload of prop's

Phoenix RC simulator has now Quadcopter upgrade. Really fun to fly and learn learn and crash. Much cheaper crashes than in real life garden flying.

All flips forward, back and sides work fantastic. Free fall and back up, feels like real.

Have now flied few weeks with Phoenix RC simulator and can really recommend it. Planes behave like real, changing from large scale down to small indoor makes difference and with my experience can really say that it feels like flying real.

Just waiting 3D version of RC simulator :)

After practising with Phoenix, out to field and test real quad. This video is not first flight but maybe 4th or 5th .....

Flying with Phoenix learned that orietation of quad is hard to determine. So, added LED lights to Quad even before first flight and can really recommend those. Very practical and easy to determine orientation.

Here's my set up:
- Quad frame V1
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=16583

- Control board V1
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=17537

- ESC Turnigy Plus 18A
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=2168

- Motors KD A22-10S
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=2104

- Props GWS 8x4 & 8x4R
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=11331

- Voltage detector (a must otherwise you drive battery dead)
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=13276

- Battery Zippy 3S 3000mAh 20C
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=8851

- Receiver OrangeRX 6ch
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=11965

- LED lights
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=8944
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=8940
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=8941

- Then cables & connectors from tool box.

What I would upgrade or make differently is to use 40C battery
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=9952
and ESC lighter 12A version as 10,8A is max what I have measured with these propellers
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=11429

Flying weight with this all up is 939g and max. thrust from motors >2000g, which is way over than ever needed. Or maybe when I get to 3D flying I would wish more power :)

Hi, after mucking around with bits of wire I eventually came up with this.

It is just a strip of double sided circuit board with the connectors soldered to each side. If you are worried about possible resistance you could flow some more solder onto the board. Could use bullet connectors to make it more compact and add other connectors to power lights etc.

It looks a bit rough but works fine.

You can do it with any kind of connector...

I did it using MPX connectors

Makes sure to use enough solder..
