    Posted: 13/Apr/2011 at 1:28pm
On first run up at nominal speed, testing servo's and gyro my tail pitch assembly pulled apart .
The reason, the thread into the pitch body was non existant and the sleeve which screws into the t arm only srewed in 1/8 of a turn ( probably less than 1/10 mm), this should screw all the way through ( about 5mm). I had no blades on (thank God) but the whole tail swung violently clockwise , due to the torque . Luckily nothing else broke.
If this had been airborne it would have destroyed itself !  Angry

hairykarts, - you seem to have the knowlegde behind you " this should screw all the way through ( about 5mm)."
-can't figure out why you spun it up (tested it) at first.
nor can i figure out why you would have no blades on, in a run-up test.

Glad you where not hit by it, and that it did not break.

Blades still in the post, and was just testing the set up and travel of the servos and the running of the belt and gear meshing.

Not very good on posting pics , but if you look on the align manual, on part 143 into it is threaded a banjo bolt (hollow) around which the bearing part no 138 sits, that banjo bolt threads into the t piece . On mine there was virtually no thread on the bolt and where it went into the t piece ( 143) there was also no thread on that either. Hope I am clear. Rob

Had the same problem. I used red locktide (not recommended) and finally it stays put. But in my case it was just the thread in piece 143 that wasn't manufactured well. It's just a little to big for the screw to really hold.

I just received my kit this month Feb 2012 and tried to unscrew the banjo bolt to check the thread and it snapped the threaded portion very easily leaving the broken threaded portion stuck in the control link yoke. The pitch slider is now toast....! Does the Align pitch slider and shaft slide bush fit the HK tail rotor grips? This part of the HK 600 looks like one I want to avoid.
