If you want to connect Turnigy to simulator, in first you need to disconnect (remove) receiver 2.4GHz from body.

Should the 3.5 audio plug be mono or stereo ? I have tried both but no joy with the 9X. I have managed to get a different controller going with a stereo plug though. My 9x also shows no signal on the audio thermometer from here http://www.smartpropoplus.com/

Sorry to answer my own question but it is the 3.5" Stereo plug that is required, turned up the volume and now it all works. I also have the HK-T6A V2 which comes with a USB cable now, it connects up via a program called T6 Sim to FMS instructions are on this thread

Why don't you simply google in Ebay "almighty simulator". For $23 you buy a USB cable that fits in the Turnigy 9X and with the Esky adaptor in the HK 6 chanel. And the included "driver" CD will allow you to play with the best simulators... so you later choose the best one you like and buy if you want to.
Only don't forget to disconnect the module when playing with Turnigy 9x Edited by almarcoa@gmail. - 25/Sep/2010 at 6:46am |

Why would i when it should work with a simple 3.5 mini jack - 3.5 mini jack cable? But there is one thing though; do i have to disconnect the module? how? it's wired in the radio control.

Because with the 3.5 mini jack cable you wouldn't be able to play with other simulators but FMS...
You only have pull out the module a little (pulling the two lateral tabs) to disconnect. You don't need to take out the whole module. Edited by almarcoa@gmail. - 27/Sep/2010 at 4:50pm |

Just a quick note about using the Turnigy 9X with FMS...
I got mine working last weekend - just used a standard 3.5mm stereo cable into the microphone jack and the back of the transmitter. I went into the Training menu on the transmitter and enabled the 1st 4 channels (for 4 channel aircraft).
I then installed FMS and SmartPropoPlus, and set the control input to joystick interface. I got no response from the FMS calibration screen until I flicked on the Trainer switch up - this appeared to enable the control input, so I held the switch on with a rubber band.
Note I didn't need to use PPJoy at all - everything worked fine without it.
