Realy I am afraid of. Several times I have left my Tx turned on and Nimh battery discharged fully, but after charging it works again. I doubt I were so success if I were using Lipo. It could cause fire in house.

Does anyone know when these will be back in stock?

how do you connect the battery to the remote control? i have a HK 2.4ghz 6ch ?

You'd probably have to solder a cable to the board on the radio. Very easy to do.

I have a Spectrum DX7 and want to change to a lipo battery instead of the Nicd. What battery do i order and does it come with the correct plug to fit the DX7. Appreciate a heads up.
Yesyns (6 points) 11/12/2009
I bought this battery for my ESky Trx. I made wiring modification to connect the battery Jack which is too small. Open the housing and soldered the Red ve wire and white -ve wire to the socket see the picture Turnigy 1450

To answer and earlier question: NEVER CHARGE THROUGH THE BATTERY PORT PLUG ON YOUR TX! Always pull the pack out of the TX to balance charge.Also, because these TX lipo packs have a low C rating, I have heard and have found myself that it is best to charge once the battery reaches 10.5v ** once it gets below this voltage, it drops like a rock!I use the Zippy Flightmax 2500 packs in my Futaba 7CAP and 9CAP and my friend uses one in his DX7 - they work great and last a whole season on a charge!

How do you charge these packs. Can you charge them through the jack on the side of your tx.CheersAndrew.

Hi, i bought another brand lipo tx pack and the instructions told no to be charged with the tx jack, so i never charge any of them that way. Charge with a lipo charger and with the AM-5001A Charging Harness (HK ref.) plug. Hope useful

Has anyone tried fitting one of these into the battery compartment of a Futaba T6XAS by chance?Just wondering if you can still get the rear cover back on after your done.I'm in the market for a new TX pack so it would be nice to know for sure that it's going to fit without a hassle.

Hey Mark, Yea, it will physically fit, no problem. However, you might have to change the discharge plug on the lipo, to the one on your present battery. Travis
Turbobeaver (1042 points);
Thanks Travis for that info.The easiest thing to do is unsolder the original battery leads from the original nicd/nimh battery and solder on a short Futaba female extension lead.Heat shrink all your connections,charge up your battery,plug it back into your TX and it should work like a charm.Way to go HK!

Hi guy's.If anyone is buying or has bought one of these battery packs,would you please post which radio's you have successfully installed this battery pack into.This information should help others that are sitting on the fence wondering whether or not their TX's will accept this lipo pack or not.That sharing of knowledge and information is what promotes this hobby and makes this website so great.

I saw the pics that the battery fits ordinary tx (such as HK 4 & 6 ch) battery holder without any modification. Could anyone confirm? It would be nice.

Oh yes. This is something I've waited for a long time too. 3S Rhino transmitter lipo is only couple of mm's too thick to fit into battery case of our transmitters. I'll order few immediately before the stock runs out.

Well, kiss my a.s.s., HobbyKing listens to their customers, and responds to the requests for a lipo battery to fit the flat pack radios. You guys ROCK !!!!!!! Travis 10/05/09

Just want to make sure i am reading this correct. Is this 11.1v Lipo a replacement for 9.6v battery packs?? If so, does it change the voltage comming out of the battery to 9.6v??
Reply:
Kaisar (112 points);
NO 9-12.6V regular lipo 8x1.5V=12V(alcaline) or 8x1.2V=9.6V(NIMH) Many people already use Lipo, including me, on their TX. This is just a new size.
davidpc2 (26 points);
No, as kaisar said, you can use 1,5v alcaline (8x1,5=12v) so 11,1 is perfectly suitable. I use lipo in my tx, always 3s(=11,1v) is much better, doen't discharge so quick when power is off, but it is recomended to unplug, because it could drop voltage and damage battery.
helicopke (26 points);
hi guys, don't worry about the voltage 11.1 V of a lipo battery for your Tx's, TX can handle 12.5 V easily, many RC folks use them without any problems. New and fresh alcaline cells AA have 1.5 V or even 1.6 V which brings total voltage for 8 AA batteries to 12 or even 12.6 V), it does not damage anything (some guys I believe use diodes in series to the positive lead to slightly drop the voltage but if you charge your TX lipos in 'storage' function or monitor voltage a bit you will have no trouble at all in getting voltage just perfect. I recently bought 2 Rhino 3 cells RX lipos here from HC and they fit perfectly in my DX7, no drop in voltage after browsing extensively through menus, lipos keep up voltage pretty good. And they will last a hell of lot longer than rechargeable AA's, which makes our job easier and more fun ! Just check TX voltage in your LCD screen or measure it every time before flying but guess we all do that already. Buy it and enjoy it to the max ! Happy flying guys.
Tryin2fly (54 points);
HI helicopke, Just thought add my 2 cents worth some use the diodes so they dont discharge to low if they forget to watch the batt volt as we all know discharge to low you can have so bad things happen HK is the Best just like there customers!!! Keep Flyin!*)
Tryin2fly (54 points);
Another way to look at it ,is the diodes drop the output, so when the Tx(cut off) sees the lower voltage and starts to beep the pack really is not at that voltage it is still at a safe level hope that makes more sense.Anyway cant wait till spring the weather here stinks. (ohio)
I have been waiting for this LiPo for a very long time. I have seven different Tx, and they all will of course be equipped with this perfectly designed little LiPo. As you understand by now, I hate NiCd and also NiMh. This is a 10 Star product "Bar none".

Will fit in Hobby King Radios but you need to modify TX with a plug to suit, choice of two.
Great buy! Got tired of charging my nimh batterys. must have and they perform great in my Futaba 3pk! Note: does not fit in a futaba 7cap/chp. Thanks HK!

Be cautious. This will fit only Tx with 8 cells flat configuration. Not a good fit for Walkera Tx that used 8 cells in a plastic holder (4+4)...Plus Walkera uses JST plug. Bought it initially for my 6EXA Futaba but I don't own this Tx anymore. My fault. Should have checked it first. Herv.
I purchased this battery recently, I used it in my Futaba 6exp Radio, initial Radio Voltage upon first flight was 12.5V after 6 flights of between 15 to 20 min each, Radio voltage was 12.3. I fully reccomend this product and will buy 2 more.
Fit into my ESky Transmitter battery slot and still have space for the wires. Very slim and just as thick as AA size battery. For ESky Transmitter need to open the housing to hook the battery and soldering if necessary. Also better have a Battery Monitor Unit to avoid from over discharge while running your transmitter.
