Hi! I have a problem between the charger and 30C 3s lipo 2450 mah. The charger lights, but the LED will flash red, which means there is a problem. However, the charger works very well with a zippy 3s lipo 2500 mah 3C. Do you think my batteries have a problem? thank you
 Hussain Joharji 224 points
Hello, first thought yes problem in battery .. but rather than connections of balancing wires or battery it self.. if u have DMM(Voltimeter) you can measure each cell to confirm the voltages that is great. Best Regards
 Martinez 2 points
For now I have no volt meter, so I can not make the test. It would appear in fact that I too discharged lipo on my last flight. I put my engine running almost a minute after switching off the controller. Misuse on my part. Thank you for your reply
 Hussain Joharji 224 points
Hello, u r welcome.. as my experience if u have a multi battery charge charger u may can fix this battery which appears low voltage warning ... the method is that u charge it as it nimh not lipo for about 10 seconds not more for first time .. then go back and charge it as lipo and may will fix this low voltage,,, if not repeat the method for not more than 4 times .. thanks pls award :) Best Regards

 Hussain Joharji 224 points

im looking for a reliable battery and charger to run in my evader dt/ ext2. im looking at the turnigy 4000mih lipo pack and this charger would that be a good combo??
 dhruvafreak 930 points
Your battery is big and this charger will take a long time charging it (3-4 hours).I suggest investing in a good computerized charger. Have a look at Turnigy Accucel 6 , needs a power supply which you can make from computer SMPS(PSU) with minor modifications
ACNBR  1 points - 6/8/2013

I have used just 3 times and now is not charging. Tried 3 different batteries...

So I got 1 of these today delivered to Australia and a 2200mah 3s battery been on charge for 1:45 mins just wondering how long it might take?
 dhruvafreak 930 points
Which charger you use Matt ? You must have received them half charged , so they should take less time !.I charge them with 2amp and they take 30-40Min for full charge.
 Matt 1 points
I used the charger on this page it took 2 hours to fully charge was good I thought.
 dhruvafreak 930 points
Sorry i thought this was a battery page . And yes 1:45 Mins is normal for this charger for a 2200 pack. The output is low so 1 hour plus time is expected.
Jon  1 points - 6/5/2013

I've used this charger to charge my battery three times now. It's a 3000 mah 3s 20c battery. First two times worked great. Third time it has been charging for eight hours and the red lights are still on solid. Battery isn't warm. I don't have a volt checker. It didn't stop at five hours like it its supposed to. Should I worry?
 dhruvafreak 930 points
Jon this charger have time limit of 5 hours. Maybe you drained your battery much and now it needs more than 5 hours to fully charge. If it doesn't charge in 5 hours then you have to charge it twice. I recommend using Turnigy Accucel 6 or 8 for big batteries and parallel charging
Ed  10 points - 6/1/2013

How do you know how many amps it charging at?
 Chrisjon 50 points
It charges at 650mah per hour. Would only be good for small batteries, u could use it on big batteries but it would take forever :)
 aykut27 1 points
There writes the output current in the specialities part :)

will i need only need this to charge my lipo
 Djonsnel 37 points
yes, it charges your lipo via the balancing lead. but just for safety always charge your lipo's in a fireproof lipo charging bag
 rahulvyas 374 points
Yes, nothing else. no power supply nothing!! Just plug it to the voltage supply at your place and let it play its magic :)

will this charger charg my lipo only this charger

yes, it charges your lipo via the balancing lead. but just for safety always charge your lipo's in a fireproof lipo charging bag
Mikey  6 points - 5/27/2013

Don't get it. Well atleast all mine does is blink red lights...
 Djonsnel 37 points
this would mean your lipo has died
 Shane 1 points
Mikey, I purchased 2 of them and have the same problem with 1. It may be your battery but my other does not blink. The other looks to be working but does nothing. I had batteries on it for 4 hrs and no charge. Don't recommend them at all.

240V, 220V, or both ? Cause I live in Europe, and outlets are 220V with this shape : *******IMG width='480px'.alibaba****/photo/460538936/European_I

a 220V is available in this package, a simple US->EU adapter could do the job.
 Gary 3054 points
Its quite happy on either 220v or 240v,you will just need to obtain an adaptor for the plug.
 Djonsnel 37 points
I live in the Netherlands and use this charger. Very happy with it. But what i did was swap the cable supplied with it for a european one, it is a standard C7 (figure 8) power plug. because a us to eu adapter is just another failure point.

Do i? need a balancer for my 1300 mah 3s 11.1v batter or not
 Serif 30 points
You dont need something else. Only you need a 11-14V 900-1200mA power supply
 mohsin 15 points
i thought it worked with the wall supply 110v USA
 rahulvyas 374 points
Mohsin, you dont need anything else. not any power supply even. Just plug in the charger to the terminal point in your house. No need of any external power supply.

 Djonsnel 37 points
Yes it will charge the E-Flite 1800mAh 3S 11.1V 20C battery. it uses the balancing plug (white with 4 wires). FOR SAFETY ALWAYS USE A LIPO CHARGING BAG WHILE CHARGING

Which lower end charger is recommended for zippy 3S1P 20C 2500mAh?
 RS4MT 51 points
I use this charger for a 1800mAh 2s,2650mAh 2s,and a 3300mAh 3s.Works great even though the larger packs take some time.have at least 15 charges on each pack and have had no "puff" issues or problems.i even had a pack discharged too far and tricked the charger into charging it.Time how long a pack takes to charge, discharge and recharge for half the time and store it till you wanna run then charge the other half.
 dhruvafreak 930 points
This charger is good enough but Have a look at Turnigy Accucel 6 charger .

This chargers output is 850mah per cell. if you charge a 180mah 2s (90mah per cell) battery with this you are charging it at almost 9.5s which no battery could handle for very long.

hi there i have just bought this charger, but it came with no instructions or info! is there a link or page i can down load them! thanks
 rahulvyas 374 points
Google it. You will find the manual in the first or the second link. Its really easy to operate it. Also check the files tab.
 Hussain Joharji 224 points
hello... you can find the file manual here in the files up there near to the discussion best regards
Gregg  18 points - 4/28/2013

There is a safety timeout where this charger stops after 5 hours. This means you have a pack greater than 3500MAH you have to charge your pack twice to be sure it is fully charged. You will know your pack is done when you put it on the charger and the lights immediately turn green. If you see your pack on the charger with all 3 lights red and it has been there over 5 hours unplug the pack from the charger and plug it back in.

Yeah the lights blink red but the thing is that i just got this battery this week and wanted to connect it to the charger to make sure it was fully charged, and it did not charge well i guess i got a defective battery Thanks
Juan  1 points - 4/19/2013

Okay i just bought one and I have a 2 cell battery i want to charge but every time i connect the battery to the charge the all three lights blink and do no go of or change to 2 red and one green. Am i doing something wrong?
 dhruvafreak 930 points
Light blinks = Damaged battery . I tried my damaged battery (short circuit) and all the lights blinks . Your battery get charged?
 Gregg 18 points
do you have a volt meter? I had this happen to one of my lipo packs that went too low of a charge. The charger needs to see a minimum voltage in the battery before it starts charging it. What I did to be able to charge this battery is to put my lipo on a 600mah wall charger for nimh for about 1/2 hour, charging with the battery plug and not the balance plug. This brought the cell voltage up high enough so the lipo charger could charge it properly. the battery survived.
 wezzer 1 points
HI GREGG- IM IN UK -WERE CAN I GET THE WALL CHARGER USAID AS I HAVE A FEW NEW LIPOS THAT ONLY BLINK RED AND WOULD LIKE TO TRY WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO SEE IF I CAN LICK START THEM AGAIN**IS IT RISKY THANX WEZZER
 Gregg 18 points
it is risky, so you would put it on a non-balancing charger only for a few minutes. The wall charger I mean is the typical slow charger that comes with RTR car RC's. Typically around 120mah. Test the voltage of the pack now. It should be around 6.6 volts. If it is lower put it on that slow charger and monitor the charge until tha pack is around 7 volt. Do not charge higher than that. Then put the pack on this lipo charger. A full charge on a lipo is about 8.4 volt.
 RS4MT 51 points
if you have a 3 cell lipo or know someone who does i know a neat little trick to make it charge a low voltage battery.this will also work if you have a 3 cell thats too discharged and you have a 2 cell around.first plug in your over discharged lipo.next take the second pack and just touch it to the other charge port.be ready to unplug it again as soon as it clicks over to charge.this tricks the charger into thinking your low pack has more voltage and will start its charge cycle.I had discovered this trick when my son left his lipo plugged in after use.please award best answer credit if this helps.
Gregg  18 points - 4/18/2013

I have noticed when I charge really large capacity packs this charger does not finish charging them. I think there is a charge time limit on the charger, but I do not see this in its documentation. When I charge a small capacity lipo and leave it on the charger too long the lights will change from all green (charged) to all red. I have 4 chargers and they all do this. Can someone confirm if they see this behaviour too? Or can confirm this timeout?
 Gregg 18 points
I just tested this. It does have a timeout. After approximately 5 hours the charger stops charging and turns all lights red. It did this on 3 of my chargers. With this charger you have to charge your high lipo packs twice.

Good charger, best for the buck as they say.

It is small, goes directly into the 220V socket so no adapter is required.

If you will only charge 2S or 3S LiPo batteries then the Turnigy 2S 3S Balance Charger is the cheap option you want to get! Have bought 2 and very happy with them!

I charged my turnigy 2200mA 3S, and at the end one cell was 4,27V the cell at the center was 4,18V or 4,19V and the other 4,19V.

Great charger for LiPos over 650mA. Bought one two weeks ago and will buy more.

Unlike many other charger/balancers, this charges each cell independently (it has one red/green LED per cell so you can see this in action). My [name brand with external balancer] charges all cells together while simultaneously discharging the high cells. Also, this one seems not to discharge cells if they are left plugged after a cycle. I will order more.

It worked fine for the first week or 2 after that it only charges 2 cell packs. If I connect a used (11.45v) 3s pack, all 3 leds turn green as in fully charged. Now I use it to charge my 2s packs for my gas planes for radio and ignition but I can't use it to charge 3s packs for my foamies. Bummer.
