Those who also have the car will thank you. The connector change is a thing of choice and even bullit conectors could be used if someone wanted too. It is always a good idea to use simular plugs as friends due to the interchangability of parts.
There is no problem using a battery with more discharge power, it's even better because the battery won't be pushed to it's limit so it's cycle life will be extended.
But this is a 2s LiPo, you can't compare to a 3s.
I run this exact battery in my slash,and my losi race truck for practice sessions, its an excellent choice with long run times. I have about 20 cycles so far, with no complaints. Discharge rates are on par with what's advertised and better than some of my race batteries. As to long term use, no problems there as well. Compared to a 3s, that's comparing oranges to apples or a Ford pinto to a Ford mustang, power level in a 3s is far greater than a 2s. But for this battery its a great buy and would recommended it to anyone with a sc truck, or any traxxas product. Its an outstanding product!
I have charged this lipo using a balance charger and now I'm running an external balancer on it now, it has been flashing for 2 days balancing.Could there be something wrong with this lipo?

Im using Hyperion EOS0606i, an excellent charger, with jst xh adaptor.
Will these batteries balance with just the TRX plug connected?

No you have to have a balance plug also otherwise you are just charging and not balancing. Go to your local rc shop and they will set you up with a plug that goes from the hyperion balance plug to the battery balance plug.
I have just purchased these for my proboat formula fastech bl. It has a 1500kv motor and 45 amp esc. Are these too much battery? New to electric always ran nitro.....
This battery is just enough for your boat to handle but since this is 7.4v lipo, two of it will run much faster than the minimum requirement of two 7.2v nimh.This battery will have a more punch than the minimum requirement of 25c because of the discharge rate of 40c. This battery has a large capcity of 5800mah so you are sure to get long runtimes. You need a charger for this, I recommend you get the turnigy accucel 6 or the turnigy max80w(charges a faster than the accucel 6) because they are great chargers at great prices. Your boat has a deans plug but this one has a traxxas plug and the chargers have xt60 plugs. The deans and traxxas plugs they have here are not genuine but xt60s are and xt60s are the easiest to solder. Remove this battery's traxxas plug and solder a female xt60 plug, use 6 mm heat shrink tubing to insulate the connection, remove you boats deans connector and solder a male xt60 plug then insulate. Go to youtube and search "how to solder xt60 plug" if you don't know how to solder. Just charge your battery and plug it into your boat than you're ready to drive your boat
Glad I could help. Now you just need to remove the xt60 connectors on your charger and solder traxxas connectors, you don't need heat shrink tubing when using traxxas connectors.
One would probably want at least 10AWG wire size for the amps this battery can deliver. For monster truck application this battery will deliver at least 0.2v lower voltage at 120 amps with these wires - if it was 10awg the difference would be just 0.1v.
Any good for a Savage Flux extended to XL scale and fitted with 150amp and 2000kv motor? I dont want 6S 4S will be fine so was considering 2 of these in series. Cheers.
I'm in the same boat as you. Haven't made my mind up yet though. One thing that keeps me off is that this battery does not have 3s alternative which could be picked up if I ever decide to try running on 5s. Second thing is I have no use for these Traxxas connectors. Apart from that it should fit just fine.
Thanks for the reply Kristaps. Should I buy these batteries I will be replacing the connectors with bullet connectors anyway. Room in the flux battery trays is the main problem. Anything higher than 45mm just wont fit without modifying the trays. Cheers.
As an owner of several of this exact battery I can confirm they have balance plugs (I to was wondering before ordering because you cant see it in the picture)

Heat is the main reason that will shorten the life of any battery. If you cannot hold the battery in your hand it is too hot and is doing damage.

This is the PERFECT battery for savage XS SS and savage flux as well. it fits perfectly in both, with enough room left. adding few pics of my savage xs ss with this battery for reference.
