Easy to fly, and literally 5 minutes to assemble. The Quicksilver GT-700 is a great fun plane for all skill levels. Motor, ESC and Servo are pre-installed and the included D27XX/10A power system gives long flight times and plenty of power on as little as a 600mAh 2S battery.
The Quicksilver is a great fun parkflyer. It's unique scale detail, Carbon Fiber frame and EPO wing are robust and easily repairable.
The included pilot is removable, in place of small FPV systems or onboard cameras. Spec.
great fun plane to fly only thing is the wheels are small and can't be changed to larger. So it it is off grass you will have trouble. Hand launch well 1 bad one and the whole front end will break making it unflyable
I just received my quicksilver and I notice that the motor mount holds the motor but not in straight position to the body of the plane. It has a offset of around 5 degrees towards the left wing ( if you look at it facing the plane). When you look from the top of the plane it's possible to notice that the motor mount has a spacer on the right side bigger than the spacer of the left side. Is this normal?
Some video camera's weigh about 5grms, I have one of them, and a HKfpv-168 could easily carry 500grms and that's a pusher, the bixler's one and two could easily carry 200grms there pushers as well, skwalkers (about 8 of them) there all pushers, teksumo etc etc, pushers make good fpv planes with no spinning prop in front of them.
I do have a Bixler 2, a Skywalker, a Radian, a Funjet and a FPV Phantom.
I'm talking about this airplane. I don't think this one can carry over 100 grams like above ones.
No, I don't think it can carry much either, but I have a video camera here and I just weighed it and it's all up weight is 15grms, and this plane would carry it if you got rid of the pilot figure, that's why they put it in the fpv section to broaden the appeal of the plane, I prefer wings (skywalker falcon, teksumo) myself and I only use a video recorder so anything that can carry a camera is potentially a fpv plane.
Hey, Graham!
1. I don't have "My FPV sponsor".
2. I like to fly with a GoPro with Live feed out, OSD and 500mW Video Tx.
3. Replace the GoPro with a 480 TVL camera and check the weight.
4. Q: Do you have a FPV sponsor ? A: Neeeeaaahh
Again, THIS AIRPLANE SHOULDN'T BE POSTED ON THE FPV CATEGORY. ANY seriuous FPV'er (which doesn't have SPONSORS) needs at least 200g for FPV gear.
I can AWARD your reply with a credid because you just make me smile thinkink at your sponsor. Who is your sponsor ? My sponsor is my wife ? HeHeHeee
Erm by that I meant I had some newer technology not really around on the market yet that shows its getting lighter. I didn't expect to have to respond to a smart **** comment like yours, but seeing as you have my site fatedev(dot)com will show exactly who is sponsoring me. So when your done taking your foot out of your mouth consider stop whining about hobbykings product placement, it WILL do for FPV. Period.
Dude, you are talking about "some newer technology not really around on the market". And YES, will do FPV for those with sponsors or those like you which have access to this ... technology. How many FPV'ers do you think we can find here buying this bird and flying your stuff. Oh! Yes, JUST YOU!
Erm Hobbyking 400mW 5.8GHZ VTX - 25g
Fatshark RCV922CAM 420TVL - 31g
split power of existing lipo total on-board FPV weight: 56g using Hobbyking stock items.
Feel free to shut up at any time.
Dude, not even you won't fly this stuff, and not because you have access to some new technology which is not really on the market. Please talk to your sponsor to give me some new FPV technology and I will buy this airplane. And... HEY?! Don't be an idiot!
I have a 2 cell 800. People talk about putting battery under the seat. What do you do**cut the back of the compartment out and slide the battery in. Also, several have said they needed no additional weight. Are you using the weight supplied, or no weight. Thanks in advance.
It is design that way to compensate the torque. All rc planes engine mounts are not installed in a center line. Don't modify it. Mine flew well without any modification.
well i had mine up 1 time, trimmed it out and it did pretty well. next time went down on the front wheel, i broke some of the frame parts!! where can i buy some replacement parts???
Bad idea as Surface TX and RX have a short range. HK do some good cheap AIR TX and RX. I have this plane and it flys great but is weak so you do not want to crash it.
I received mine the other day. I also bought the 2s 800mah battery for it. Set up was easy. No instructions but if you are a seasoned builder it should be a problem. Battery goes under the seat receiver on the back of the seat. I did't need any other ballast to balance th CG. First flight was with a very light breeze, maybe 2 to 4 mph. I had a little bit of a problem due to the left wheel appears to be dragging a bit causing it to want to make left turns. I finally eased in the throttle and it took off pretty quick from its left turn on the ground. Once airborne it really goes! It's a lot faster than I expected. Once I had it trimmed it flew well. It's a bit twitchy but that's partly my fault as I need to set up dual rates to take out some of the control. It's quite responsive but you need to stay ahead of it. The battery life was around 20 minutes with a mixture of full and half throttle. It will maintain level flight at half throttle. I have to clean up the elevator push rods or check the elevator servo. It doesn't always return to center. So, at times, I had to pump the controls until it centered and was able to fly in level flight hands off. Landing isn't a real problem. Just make sure you land it into the wind. It slows down and settles in ok. A teeny amount of power would have slowed its descent rate down a little and may have resulted in a nice flare. I've flown it t

2 thumbs up!
ordered quicksilver on 11/30/2010 today 12/07/2010 received the box by delivery and have open box. packaging is very nice aircraft and box both were in excellent shape . proceeded to check the aircraft and assemble it. in a matter of one hour to assemble and a half to get it ready for flight. As the video says it is a very good flyer and has more than enough power to fly. I ended up flying it at half throttle to make it look scale in flight. But with full power it is a real wuick and snappy aircraft. used a Rhino 600 milamp 2c battery with the HKt6 v2 transmitter for power and control no gliches and no range problems radio and ultralight.

1 thumbs up!
got mine today and crash on the first battery agaist a light post :( what about replacement parts ? almost all the plastic joints broke !!!! the carbon is easy to repair but the joints ...... the plane is not that bad but too heavy for the size, next time il put the battery on the pilots seat! the landing had to be made with some power because it stalls at low spead! almost doesnt glide does some one knows if HK will sell spare parts seperatly???? i glued every thing back into place with tread lock (blue) it was the only glue i had that stick to that plastic joints, for now its a decorating item.....

After assembly, I noticed the prop is slightly angeled to one side, is this correct? The motor mount is a couple of mm higher on one side.
