Turnigy nano-tech 2200mah 4S 25~50C Lipo Pack

Turnigy nano-tech 2200mah 4S 25~50C Lipo Pack

More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY nano-tech lithium polymer batteries are built with an LiCo  nano-technology substrate complex greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance.
In short; less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery.
For those that love graphs, it means a straighter, longer curve. For pilots it spells stronger throttle punches and unreal straight-up performance.
Excellent news for 3D pilots!

Unfortunately with other big brands; numbers, ratings and graphs can be fudged. Rest assured, TURNIGY nano-techs are the real deal, delivering unparalleled performance!

The nano-core technology in lithium ion batteries is the application of nanometer conductive additives.
1) The nanometer conductive additives form ultrastrong electron-conducting networks in the electrodes which can increase electronic conductivity.
2) These additives create a superstrong ability for imbibition in the carrier liquid to supply more ion channels. This improves the ability of ion transmission and ion diffusion.
Through improving electronic conductivity and ion transmission, the impedance is reduced and the polarization of high rate discharge decreases greatly.
Advantages over traditional Lipo batteries;
-Power density reaches 7.5 kw/kg.
-Less Voltage sag during high rate discharge, giving more power under load.
-Internal impedance can reach as low as 1.2mΩ compared to that of 3mΩ of a standard Lipoly.
-Greater thermal control, pack usually doesnt exceed 60degC
-Thickness swelling during heavy load doesnt exceed 5%, compared to 15% of a normal Lipoly during heavy load.
-Higher capacity during heavy discharge. More than 90% at 100% C rate.
-Fast charge capable, up to 15C on some batteries.
-Longer Cycle Life, almost double that of standard lipoly technology.

I was very pleased with this pack. I bought tree. Now 7 months later all tree is demage. I cant get more than half power of them. Can be i have charged them to hard 10amp, but the spec. says C5.
 LEPISSIER 16 points
in general it is better to charge LiPo batteries at 1C (so 2,2amp) max, it will maximise their life and the power they can deliver.
 Zeek78 10 points
LEPISSIER, that could be, but i also have normal Turnegy batteries 2650 mah, and they still deliver after 12 month and i still do my charging on 10 amp. Whan i do some measurements they also deliver more power then the nanotech even thoug they are only 20c and charge is 2c. So i dont buy nanotech any more.

Will this be good in a slash 4x4 with a mamba monster 2 and a 2200kv motor
 LEPISSIER 16 points
check just if your motor accept 4S batteries :) the capacity has no influence

will this be good for the durafly vampire? as in is the c rating going to be okay?
 Gary 2962 points
Yes,it will be perfectly ok.
 H-KING_SCOTT 5155 points
No, go with a 3300mAh 4s for best combination of power, flight times, also better for C/G.
 Gary 2962 points
Whilst I agree with Scott in some respect it still flies really well on a 2200 pack, admittely is does need a bit of lead up front.

The dimensions given here say length is 119mm. I have one of these and mine measures more like 109mm Anybody else checked this ?
 paulo 19 points
is dimension refers the battery in teh box.
 IwanR 60 points
Mine is 115 mm. Fits PERFECTLY in the Stinger64.

this battery is work with ESC Turnigy TY-P1 25Amp HEXFET®* Brushless Speed Controller and Hobbyking KK2.0 Multi-rotor LCD Flight Control Board work very Good no problem together ?

Here is the situation. I bought 3 of these batteries. Used them 2 times each. After using the second time, I started to charge... First battery ok! Second Battery, only 3 cell identified! Third battery, only 3 cell identified! Could it be a bad wire on these batteries? Or the cell is dead? Any suggestions?
 Pushrod 585 points
the balance plug is a bit dodgy i had the same problem
 ratton 10 points
Any solution for these problem?
 Pushrod 585 points
mine just seemed to start working correctly after plugging it in and out a few times. I thought i would have to go through the HK returns proceedure again which is a nightmare. Hope yours is the same
 jumbo2 1 points
did you run them down the first time you used them ? did you carge them first ? I run my packs for half the time first couple times to cycle them
 ratton 10 points
I charged them before using the first time.
 Pushrod 585 points
If you run them beyond 3.2v you will damage the cells but you will still get a reading from each cell it just wont take a charge and it is a good idea to run them in ,full charge and run down to 50 percent capacity at no more than 30 percent throttle. This will extend the life of your battery by 50 percent.
I think your problem is in the balance plug or wires. Good Luck.
 CldMNS 1 points
I had this problem and i solve charging without balance plug and work well.

What is the best HK charger configuration for this battery?
 Boogie 193 points
Many of the HK chargers are going to work. If you want to charge them with the highest current available you need something capable of 10A and at least 180W. I can only propose you the icharger series. Any of the ones available is going to be up to the task and you will love them!!
 ykinst1 3 points
In my opinion, accucel-6 is the best value for money charger. LCD screen, 1s-6s batteries, charge, discharge, balance. 60w (e.g. 12v&5A) at under 20$. In addition, the internet is filled with video guides regarding how to program and use it
tctdrummer  5 points - 9/13/2011

hello-if the battery is capable of a 5c charge, assuming that is 10amp? is there harm in charging these o at a lower "C" rating? i currently charge my batterials at 2amps, 1C, is that bad to charge that low?
 Peter 1 points
Hi ,
there is no problem charging at a lower C rate, I would not suggest that you charge lower than 1 C as the cells may not reach their full potential , it is actually better to charge at 1 C than 5 C to achieve a full charge at a lower charge temperature and less chance of overheating Cheers Peter
 Pushrod 585 points
Yes i would not charge any less than 1C and no more than 60 percent of its maximum charge rate of 11 ampsas doing so will shorten the life of your battery.
 CFN R J Birch 4 points
THere is nothing wrong with charging at lower rates. If you are using pretty much any modern charger it will keep charging until the battery is fully charged. The only downside is that it will take a little longer, but this is outweighed by negating any risk of damaging the battery or charger.

How long can I fly with this battery? Full trotle!
 topamitopami 28 points
aproximadamente si vas a todo gas unos 8 minutos,y si vas tranquilo unos 20 minutos
 Pushrod 585 points
Depends on the size of the plane you are flying and what motor and ESC you are using. On the HobbyKing MX2 you would fly for about 4.5 to 5 mins
 jumbo2 1 points
I fly my mx2 stock except prop for 5-6 nim 3/4 throttle
 CldMNS 1 points
Depends on the size and kind of the plane if is a edf jet, sport or traine, but 5-6 mins is a expected time. The better options is add turnigy 3s-8s Voltage detector and the safer it will notify you when the battery is running www.link

How do I tell my B6 charger to charge this at 2Cs?
 Beaufighter 1808 points
By telling it to charge this battery at 4.4A. The charger does not know what C rating any battery has, it just charges by the current you set it to.

produto muito bom como todos outros da turnigy carrega em até 3c ou mais meus amigos ja pensou.....
 Alberto 5 points
in the 2200mah case 1C minds 2.2A, so if you want 2C for this battery minds you have to program 4.4A in your charger. hope it works for you.

im thinking of putting this in a future esky honeybee king 4 with a hk blue 30A esc. would this work? i want explosive 3d outa the heli.
 dontknow 49 points
you should use 3cel on 450 size heli 30amp ecs sounds to small need more like 50 to 60 esc for 4 cel. Biger is better!!! Cant beat nano-tech battery.

It says 'Fast charge capable, up to 15C on some batteries' above. Is this capable of fast charge and if so how many C recommended?
 HellyFlyer 1249 points
5C max, don't go over that or you will destroy your battery
 justforfun 84 points
5c possible, but 2c best for battery health
 firehopper 14 points
that pack is rated at 5C charge
 Nobby 113 points
Higher the charge rate the higher the wear rate as with most electronics "heat = life shortened" however the new second and third generation Lipos are quite capable because of their very low internal resistance(IR)then they can be charged at 2C with zero harmfull effect or even 5C But I would always recommend 2 as a good faster charge also because above that starts putting a big ask on the ***r old charger unit/power supply
 loren 53 points
LOOK ON BACK OF BAT U WILL SEE A 5C
 fabracing 50 points
I think you can charging at 9C. It's a good value
 _Sergey_ 11 points
5C max.
 Scott 1 points
dont go over 5C or you will cook these great battery packs
mrfourtysevenman  128 points - 12/16/2010

can you use something like thisto power an engine starter?
 Tech1 9 points
If your starter can handle the voltage say 14 volts, yes this item can be use but you may need to change the plug and setup new cables. I use two 2 cell lipos with (y) cable in series (total voltage 14.8) to power car ***p start box, that had one 12 volts led acid battery originally (heavy sucker).

1 thumbs up!
This pack is just GREAT - the best I ever had! First of all, the cells are EXTREMELY well balanced. Even after discharging to 10pcnt residual capacity (which shouldnt be done, I know, I know -) ), ALL 4 cells had exactly the same voltage. Awesome.
Whats more important, however, my Squall does not only have more power, it has more power for a longer time. Finally, after the flight, the pack is much cooler than conventional packs. Just buy it!
