More than just a fancy name. The nano-core technology in lithium ion batteries is the application of nanometer conductive additives.
1) The nanometer conductive additives form ultrastrong electron-conducting networks in the electrodes which can increase electronic conductivity.
2) These additives create a superstrong ability for imbibition in the carrier liquid to supply more ion channels. This improves the ability of ion transmission and ion diffusion.
Through improving electronic conductivity and ion transmission, the impedance is reduced and the polarization of high rate discharge decreases greatly.

Hello, I have purchased a He-162 from HobbyKing and was going to get the batteries locally but it turns out it would cost ~$30 for one battery, the connectors, and a soldering fee, plus the cheapest charger they had was $50. So, my question is does this come with the connectors attached and would it work with any charger I find in the store here? Thanks, I've not much knowledge of electric RC.

Yes, this battery comes with XT60 connectors, exactly as on the picture above. Any balancing charger that supports 3S should be good (check out e.g. the TGY-3). But mind you, with time, you might get fed up waiting for batteries to be charged. I use this charger: 9052000009 to reduce waiting time.

I think I have a problem with this battery: 1. My chargers can't it, lights on my chargers keeps blinking which means error. 2. My battery voltage checker states: Cell no.01= 3.81, no.02= 3.81, All=7.55. It doesn't give the voltage of cell no.2. 3. In a multimeter the battery gives no voltage at all. zero voltage. Is the battery damage? PS. I never used used the battery , just got it for using in my new Bixler.

Sounds like you have a bad cell. Did you measure across the balancing contact, you should be able to measure all cells on it, including the one that your checker will not show. HK has battery guarantees, so you should be able to get a refund.

Measuring across the balancing contact 2 cells seems to be fine but one cell gives nothing, looks like that one cell is dead. I'll try to get a replacement, I need it for my new plane. Thanks Lassek!

I have a solution for you, but you have to be really careful, and mindful doing this. Set your charger on NiMH, and charge the battery for about 10 minutes, on .5 amp charge. this may (or may not) wake up the cell, and get it to take a balance charge. This will work sometimes, but not always, and you should do it outside for the small chance of fire. Of course, the first course of action should be replacement.

2 out of 4 has swelled pulling 2822 with 7-4 prop ,4 flights ,would not spend extra money again. flat foamboard profile plane 5 second burst. always charged * 1c. worst batteries in 8 years.

What cell voltage did you have when they swelled, was it low? Or are you saying you had fully charged batteries, gave them a 5 second burst and they swelled just from that?! Have you measured the current at WOT?

Bought a couple of these batteries for my mx2 . Still pretty green on the lipo front . Have been charging at 1.3 amps on my imax b6 but I have been told they can be charged at a higher rate to speed up charging time . Any advice would be appreciated .

I charge my at 4A without any problem, thats what my charger can do. They are rated to 5c charge rate that is 6,5A.

I can not talk from experience here, but ive read that it will reduce life span by charging at higher current.

I can tell you from experience: 2.5A works great! If you have 2 or 3, you can keep one charging whilst flying. In my club, we take turns on the field, so this works perfect. I have 3 batteries myself. Sometimes, after a day of flying, I will charge them at .5A, which refreshes them nice. I will do this on LiPo balance.

esteban you don't even know what motor I'm running in my radjet, how would you know what discharge rate it needs? These batts are rated at 25-50c, i was running them at 15c and they failed - what does that tell you about the quality of nanotech 25-50c batteries?

Hmmm... I have had no problems with mine, and I am running NanoTech batteries in 3 planes. I have found them to be highly reliable. I am just throwing this out there as some food for thought: Perhaps the cutoff on the ESC is set too low, or set to NiMh? Maybe you got a bad run (well known to happen). I have several types of nanoTech batteries, from 1s to 4s, and they are 100% reliable so far.

Hi David, That's right battery for Your ArDrone and its very good for higher current drawing as the original . You need only this www.link to change original XT60 conector on Turnigy nano-tech battery to Tamiya conector on Your Ardrone. You can use original charger or buy some better ones with mikroprocessor controled charging .

I have researched this before, and this is a WAY BETTER battery than the ARDrone comes with. I recommend you do not use the AR charger for it, and get an Imax B6, which can balance charge it. I have 3 of these batteries, I use them in my Icon A5, and my scratch build cardboard plane.

Hey, there is not enough information in your question to answer it. The Wattflyer forum says it will work, but that is by no means a guarantee. I have to make some assumptions to know this: 1) the Super Cub you have is HZ, and 2) your original battery is at least 1,000MA. I can't find any firm specs on this plane, but it looks like the battery should work ok, assuming you can solder on the right connector for it. This plane is discontinued, so I wouldn't put too much into it, because a bad crash will do it in.

I have 3 of these batteries and have been using them in my super cub for over a year. They are a tight fit but work great. Much better then the stock battery. I Highly recommend them.

Thanks LasseK, I was only going to get the 1300mah 3S as per the recommendation on the Bixler v1.1's page. I'll definitely go with a reg LiPo 2200mah then, you're right the price is lower and if I don't need the added "umph" so to speak why spend more. I don't have much experience with Lipo's as I'm still using Nimh's from a decade ago. However, these nano's seem to be pretty darn good by other's opinions on here, so I might just pick up a few to have as reserves since at what HK sells these for it's worth it. Here they are a lot cheaper than what I can find here locally state side. I appreciate your reply and advice, Thank You.

Rocorama are you on a particularly tight weight budget? I just think 1300mAh is a bit on the low side capacity-wise, I use 2200mAh (Bixler 2 and AXN). And I use the plain Turnigy LiPos, not the nano-techs (no need for them since the required current isn't that high, and you save a few bucks as well). Nothing wrong with nano-tech batteries though, if you don't mind spending a bit extra I think they are very good batteries.

Hi there. I have only 3s 2200 mah bateries (regular turnigy 2c). I bought 3 1300 25-50. How many A´*s can i use to charge it with imax b6 charger ?

The max charge rate is 10C, which theoretically you can charge at 13A, but this is way too high. Max I charge mine is 2.5A, though 5A would be ok. I like my batteries to last a couple seasons at least, and I have multiple batteries for flying days. I keep 3 charged, and usually I will run them out by the time the first one is ready again. Never charge yur batteries at a high rate whenthey are hot, it is not good for them.

No charger comes with this battery. I recommend this charger: 9052000009. It charges four batteries at the time (with balancing), so you basically can charge four times faster compared to a single battery charger, I love it! I use this power supply: HK600W.

I'm pretty much illiterate when it comes to rc. Can you tell me if this battery is the best match for the Hobbyzone Super Cub LP that my wife bought me for Christmas? If not, do you have a great battery that will slide right in and has the same connectors as the original parkzone battery? Thanks for your help.

Have you compared the height, width and length measures for the original battery with this one? Please present the measures for your battery if you are unsure. Also, HK seems to have standardized on XT60 connectors for this size of battery, and as far as I know there are EC3 connectors as original. So you need to either change the battery connector to EC3, or change the ESC connector to XT60 (or use an adapter like HK 603B-601A). HTH

I have an 800mw transmitter. Is my math right here for this battery. Battery 1300mAh Transmitter 800mw which is .8(watts)/12volts = 66.6mAh 1300mAh / 66.6mAh = 19.51 hours So in theory almost 20 hours of Transmitter power. Is my math correct?

Actually, that would assume 100% efficiency. The truth is that most transmitters are 80% efficient. You have the decimal place wrong. If you draw 800mA for 1.95 hours, you would fully discharge your battery, but it should be only be 1.3 hours, or 1 hour twenty minutes. Are you sure your TX is 800mW? That is really a lot! Most TX's are only 100 or at the most 200mW.

Yes its for near space balloon project. I have my technician license. Going to video broadcast from the gondola. Need a range of about 40km. 800mw tx should do it with the right antenna configuration. I have since this post decided a Nicad battery may be better for this project due to temp extremes. And of course we will bench test everything before we pusue our project. Thanks for the reply!!!

I sure do meet some interesting people in here! Li-Ion batteries are not good for extreme cold, of course, there is weight to consider, and AH, so may I suggest NiMH batteries. They can handle the cold, and are around twice the capacity of NiCads.

I would use this battery to connect a led strip of 12VDC. So i wondered how much the output amps of this battery is. Is the output amps equal to the capacity? I am new to this kind of battery's. thanks up front for the information.

If you want to know how many amps this battery can deliver, you will multiply it's capacity (1300MAH) by the batteries discharge rate (25C)which would be 32,500. Or, 32.5 amps. hope this helps!

Hey Frank! I looked up your AR battery, and this battery is slightly smaller, so it will fit the hole nicely! Adapters? What I would do is solder a new end on it (I do this all the time), but failing that, You would need someone to do it for you. The battery connector is nothing I am familiar with, so I don't know what to do for you on that. I would chop them off, put dean's connectors on them, and get an Imax B6 to charge them. The AR battery doesn't even have a balance connector, that sucks! Yes, the Nanotech is an AWESOME upgrade of your AR battery, they run so nicely, I could see it doing wonders for a Drone!

How do I know when this battery is fully charged? I have an HK486 charger does it automatically stop charging when it is full? If not how high should I charge this battery up to?? 12.59V and 682 charged capacity??

12.6V is considerd fully charged. If your charger is not automatic you will have to watch it until it reaches 12.6V. BE CAREFUL not to overcharge, you could risk damaging the battery and possibly starting a fire! Hope this helps!

This would be an opportunity to get a good charger. I use an Imax B6, and it is AWESOME. HK sells them and they are not expensive. This is far better than forgetting your charger, and burning down your house. My 2 cents.

How long will this battery last when I use it on my Bixler. An approximate time will do, so I can take necessary precautions not to over drain it. How do i find out that my battery is going to drain below the cut off voltage.

How long is a piece of string! Depends on many factors. If you know the mah rating of your pack plus your average power draw from your electronics you can work it out roughly. Eg:a 1300mah battery means it will deliver 1300ma for 1 hour til flat (13 Amps ). Some motors draw 100 pus amps so that will very quickly drain the battery. Installing a lipo alarm is the safest way or setting your esc to auto lipo so it knows when to stop draining the battery

I recently crashed my Bixler and the plastic covering the lipo has been bent along with the cells inside the battery. Is it safe to use. Can i charge it again and use it?

Be very careful. Lipos can explode. You'll want to check for any leakage or cracks in the cells and also that the wires are contained and not exposed. If all looks good, you can just connect the pack via the balance connector and let your charger 'check' the pack before charging. If it passes it should be ok as long as it has not dropped below 3volts per cell. Use caution and if in doubt, don't attempt to charge.

Carlos, if you mean a LiPo alarm, then check out this one: Voltage-Alarm. I use these both on helis and planes. It has programmable cell alarm voltage from 2.7 to 3.8V, it monitors all cells individually using the balancing cable and it has a nice loud alarm when any call goes below the alarm voltage. I usually set the alarm voltage to 3.3V to have some margin for landing, works fine. HTH.

So for an easy setup with the Drone and this battery: - 2-4 1300 3S Turnigy Nanotech batteries - 1 or 2 LiPO Charge Sacks/safety bags - jumbo size are around $3 each and highly recommended for safety - 2 packs of adapter cables "Female Mini-tamiya to male XT60" (make sure it states MINI-Tamiya lol) - Turnigy Accucell 6 charger - DC power supply for your new charger -output of 12volt 6 amp or greater. After some time u may want to ditch the adapters and solder a mini-tamiya directly to the battery lead wires....but the setup above will get u going quickly. The batteries have the same connector type as the Turnigy Accucell 6 so easy to charge. There are videos on this site and everywhere showing u how to use this tried-and-true charger* since this is new to you, set the charger to a maximum of 1.3amps (1C for this battery). For use in the Drone u need a battery connector adapter, so get those inexpensive pre-made cables: "Female Mini-Tamiya to Male XT60." They cost around $3 for a pack of three**get a couple of packs in case you lose some. Lipo charge bags/safety bags are recommended for everyone with lipo batteries* do it they're cheap. Finally u need a power supply for the charger**few chargers come with one. U can buy them here or can make them from old laptop power supplies or PC ATX power supplies (I made one each from laptop and desktop power supplies and both worked just fine). With the Accucell 6 charger, make sure the pwer supply Output can do _at_ least_ 12 volts 6amps. There r some HobbyKing brand power supplies for around $10-$15 that should work**read the reviews on the power supply's webpage. You'll be fine bro**dive on in and you'll be an expert in no time.

Not directly. The charging/balancing connectors are different. You will need to do some handiwork with soldering, etc.

My jet rocketed out of the planet with this battery.. wish it had to same run time as a normal lipo 1300mah 20c though.. My flight just broke over 2 min. and had to emergency land. Has anyone else, notice the time change?

Awesome Battery - I tried them in my Art-Tech Eurofighter and they are MUCH better than stock 1300 LiPos. On the Wattmeter Standard 1300 mah Li Po starts at 280 watts and is steady at 220 after 2 minutes at full power - These Nano Tech batteries start at 340 watts and are stable at 260 after 2 minutes.. and they are lighter so the plane performs much better overalll.. I will order more as soon as stock arrives!

Weight of this pack is 123g.
Main wire is 12AWG!! This is to much for it. Exactly the same i have with my 3s 2200 35-70C nano-tech. Would be better if there will be 16AWG!! Performance is excelence. 11.1V after 12 minutes of hard flight and still a lot of power to climb verticall.

I Can't fault theese packs. I ordered 3 for my Radian pro. They arrived carefully packed & well balanced. (3.90v per cell on all 3 packs)

Excellent value for money!
