Big size 1:4 scale R/C dirtbike with a powerful brushless inrunner. The QRF400 is a big size R/C dirtbike with plenty of power and quality components. The cast alloy rear swingarm gives the bike almost 14mm of wheel travel, great for big air jumps, triples, whoops or rough ground! Trick style, large bore, upside-down front forks are designed to take big impact while keeping the bike stable. The bike takes a 3,000 to 4,000mAh Lithium Polymer pack and requires a 60A+ car esc. Included is a powerful brushless inrunner motor which is more than enough to create huge rooster tails in the dirt and give the bike on-command wheelie power! Careful attention has been paid to drivability; the riders weight has been lightened by 30% over other bikes of similar size, and the rear wheel has a spider-gear gyro inside to balance the bike at slower speeds. This bike is capable of very high speed and with the rear chain and sproket unguarded like a real motocross bike, we strongly advise users to not allow children or pets near the bike while it is running.

I am quite baffled as to how this RC bike can stays upright :) do you have to steer it like when you ride a bike? Looks fun though. might try it sometime.

Just got the bike and after a few runs on FLAT surface, the swing arm shaft bent. The shaft really really soft, like made of aluminium. Hope the spare i ordered is the harden shaft.

Hi, I am going to buy one of this bikes soon. What spareparts should I buy to keep it running? What parts needs to change after a while on the trak? Tanks for all answers. (If I get any)

Hi, Can anyone tell me what kind of oil should i put in the rear shock and how much quantity?
Thanks!
Robert

I always use silicone oil for shocks. As far as quantity, just fill it up. If you purchase shock oil from a hobby site you should have plenty for both.

Anyone have a suggestion for the "timing" setting and the "Punch" setting using the suggested HK 60 AMP ESC. I'm using zero andthe motor gets WARM!

I just got mine today, no manual no pictures to help assembly. Where to put the ESC or reciever?? Bike must be taken apart and lock tightened everywhere. Do the front forks require oil?? or only the rear?? How much? put in top or bottom screw?? My chain (or sprockets) are very bad. Spin the wheel and chain tightens and loosens, have to adjust at the tight spot, nothing else to do.It wants to jump off the front sprocket. They should have designed it with a belt drive.Swing arm pivot has lots of play, and that's the shaft the front sprocket is on.No chain alignment available. don't over tighten the rear wheel nuts or the wheel won't turn, very weird?? Love to know about the fork oil if anyone has an answer?? More as I get it together....

Dont use fork oil. Use grub screws to adjust the read wheel travel and lock the rear wheel in place.

rear wheel has ' nylon ' spacers,to keep gyro/bearings aligned , will compress as u do nuts up and put pressure on gyro , thus tightening the wheel ? . dismantle wheel and remove spacer inside circlip[gyro side] , i did no prob but get little noise at 3/4 rev- goes well. b4 the wheel would loosen up and the chain came off- or do up tight and wheel wont turn ?

Can somebody tell me, how fast this bike actually is? I've seen the videos, but it's very hard to estimate the speed. Thank you!

guessing i got mine to about 45 kph on grass ???
I've just bought 2 of these. They look cool enough.
Looking at the detail pictures, the motor/transmission are hidden behing a cover, but not encapsulated. This kind of setup has pained me in the past for RC cars when small stones get into the gap and ruin the cog wheels.
Has anyone got positive/negative experience on this matter with this product?

Hi will a 6 cell stick pack or bigger fit this bike or does it have to be the recommended lipo battery? Also are there any other esc will fit this bike other than the one recommended as it is out of stock?

I'm ready to buy one but I'll not do it unless I see some spare parts. I'm not going to spend more than 150$ without a listing of spare parts. The same happened with solo pro and HK450pro. I bought them and now, after many months, I'm still waiting when HC stock spares

All the spare parts are arriving next week. The bike has only just been released.

I agree BernieC. The shipping is out of sight. I paid it though. Got one for my wife for christmas. As hard as the parts are to get I figured I better start early.

Jesus, could somebody please post a video of this bike in action?! Doesn't have to be long or anything, just SOMETHING. There isn't a single video of this bike in action that I can find. Anyone?
5/8/2010 Sweden (65%)
Can someone upload an action video with this bike ? Is it slow or overpowered ? Can it jump (and land good) ? What about wheelies ? Does the gyro works good ? Are electronics well protected against moistre and dirt ? Anyone broked it yet ?
Please post some videos of your bike....in action
Then i decide if i should buy or not.

Alot of what you're asking depends on the skill of the driver. When I run the bike Im hopeless and I spend more time doing doughnuts in the dirt that actually riding around. However our engineer and some of the other guys can do 5mtr wheelies and 3ft high jumps. This bike is seriously fast. Too fast for this old man!

If I had one Id give a full blown test and videos. However i dont have money to burn and am waiting for feedback like most are. I bet its going to be a long waiting game for parts just like their AHF50 nitro helicopter :(

......no, this is not the duratrax (anderson) 1/5 bike. This is a 1/4 scale bike and similar of familar with that Duratrax/Anderson rc bike.
Jason5001

The duratrax (anderson) bike is much different. The Anderson bikes is smaller and mostly plastic. Also the Anderson rider is vac-formed plastic. This bike is bigger, meaner and better quality. The Anderson bike is a toy compared to this bike.

What types of battery can fit in the bike - there are many different 3000-4000mah lipos. What are the battery dimensions? 2S, 3S etc?

You need a 3s lipo, they just added it in related products: Turnigy 4000mAh 3S 20C Lipo pack (Perfect for QRF400) Thank You!
This is a fun product! If they gave out awards for cool R/C products, then this would be a shoe-in. I tried to show the size and quality of the product when taking the photo, but it was difficult. This bike is 1:4 scale and is powerful looking machine to see run. I know alot of customers are going to be really happy with this product. I only wish HobbyKing allowed me to keep one!
