Hello, today I received the consignment from you by my order No 2,001,343,444th Unfortunately, I must say that my first experience with your business is not at all satisfactory and I am deeply disappointed. The consignment arrived incomplete. One of these chargers Turnigy Accucel-8 150W 7A Balancer / Charger is not working and are not supplied, all cables. I ask about communication, how you deal with this situation.

what is a good power source to use with this chager so i can use it in the house or with 120 volts. let me a model of a power source as iam trying to figure out the totlal cost of a charger that has higher charge watts with ac/dc
   chrisfly (50%)
I use an old laptop power supply - They operate at around 16-20 volts and are perfect. Of course they all have different ratings so you will have to check the max available to you.

I have the same problem, connection break, you say that you need to have a battery connected to main output. What battery and how. Can any one experience with this charger upload a video here or pics, or youtube?
Thank you
   chrisfly (50%)
You have to have the main connection also connected. The charger will not work if it is only connected to the balance port.
   Power (50%)
Yes**you need to connect both the main power lead and the balance connector also. Mine works fine now.

My charger reads "Connection Break" every time I try to use the balance lead ports. Does not seem to matter which port is used, which battery is used, or for what purpose. What is going on?
   Brainanator (34%)
you need to have the battery connected to the main output, not just the balance taps.

From the photographs, the Turnigy Accucel-8 appears to be the same charger as the GT Power A8, except, the Turnigy does not have the USB port and the temperture sensor. Has anyone determined if these are the same chargers except for the changes noted?
   visioneer_one (12%)
As you mentioned - it is identical with the exception of the USB and temperature sensor ports. I never quite got the idea behind having a USB port on these chargers if you're working with lipos. The only potential reason for using that port would be to log the max and min voltages & capacities while cycling... and none of these chargers allow you to cycle lipos automatically...

Hi,

My charger has started showing an Input Voltage Error when I connect it to my car battery. I've tried several car batteries, all well charged, and get the same result. I've also connected it to a p[ower supply and raised the input voltage to 18 volts and I get the same error.

Any suggestions before I send it back, it's only a few weeks old.
   mouchadino (29%)

   Pistol (25%)
Hi I have had mine only two months and it begun showing the exact same message of input voltage error, it gets worse eventually it begun showing garbled messages on the screen and it would erratically reset itself and make my display disapppear by turning the brightness down to zero. I am sending mine back, talk about disappointing!

I purchased the 8150 a few mon ths ago and it has been working well with my 3S lipos. However, I have found that it consistently balances every cell at just 4.12V (measured)despite showing 4.20v on the display. Is anyone else experiencing this or is the calibration of my charger out? If it is the latter, is it possible to re-calibrate?

Hi There

I have recently bough this charger and have a couple of questions.

Im from the UK and using it in the UK.

1. The NICAD charging setting doesnt seem to have an Auto setting. Whenever I am charging a NICAD, the screen always states MAN. ? Anyone know if there is a button to press to change this. The Inc and Dec buttons dont seem to adjust it.

2. When Balance Charging LiPos, the charge has a failsafe at 120mins but the charge current states that it will charge the battery to 8.4v ! Is that right as im sure this would cause the battery some damage. I was charging a 7.4v 2200 Lipo last night and the charger cut off at the prescribed 120min mark with the batter at around 8.1v with each cell perfectly balanced at 4.05v. This seems wrong to me so wonder if osmeone could shed any light on this.

Cheers
Tone

how do you balance a 2s lipo with this charger? is there a balance board??

   Carlos Jose (8%)
You can connect the balancing cable (Tree wires) on any port available, check doing so from right to left, it means from back of unit to front of unit, letting others pins disconnected, verify the charger recognizes the cells # 1 and 2, if nt is wrong connected.
   Brutis (73%)
Cut the the balance guide tabs on your lipo's and plud it in the 3s port on the charger it will read 2s. Or u can buy a balance board with 2s on it and plug it into the 6s port.

I have a Turnigy accucel-8 7A 150W balancer charger and I would like to charge and balance 2S Lipo batteries. However the balance ports only seem to support 3 Cells minimum. Is there an adapter cable to enable me to do this? and if so where can I get it and how much is it?

why i have found to work great, is to take a 3s and a 2s extension (found on this website , in packs of 10 ) lay them next to each other you will notice one has 4 wires and one has 3 wires , (the 3s has 4 and the 2s has 3 , one per cell and one ground). You simply cut the two ext in half splicing the 3s male to the 2s female (note one wire will not be used ) cap the unused wire . then hook to charger . Once you are charging (in lipo ballence mode) , push the third button from the left of the charger , you will then see your induvidual cells diplayed , at that point you will see only 2 cells . and there you are . hope this helps
   Carlos Jose (8%)

No special adapter needed, put the connector from the LIPO in the 3 cell balancer plug. The charger will read your LIPO as a 2 Cell LIPO. You can also connect into the 8 cell plug, there is no different.

Hello

I recently bought the Accucel 8-150 and so far I am happy with it's performance but am not able to find any hobbyking software to work with the USB port, I also never received a cd nor a manual. Can anyone help try and at least get the software?
   daverp (13%)
Google LogView 2.3 and you find many links to the software.
   Brutis (73%)
Yes doesn't come with cd or manual but u can download the manual here.http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=7523 near the bottom of page it has a file tab click on that and download the manual.
   mike929 (15%)
you can download the manual from hobby king go to the files folder near the bottom and you will see the manual. then search the internet for log view, download the free ware and you will be able to monitor the charging. e-mail me if you have any questions on what setting to run the software at. it is kind of tricky. michaellopilato*hotmail****
   mike929 (15%)
if you go to the page where the charge is and go almost to the bottom, you will find a files page, click on it and and you will find the manual. simply download it and print. As for the program you have to search on the net for logview v2. you will find a shareware version. from there it can be tricky. i run it on the e-station bc8 bantom.

Has anyone tried powering this with the yellow 12v line from an ATX power supply? A 250W PS (they litter the shelves in my shop) supplies around 15A at 12v. Has anyone had any luck with one of those?
   daverp (13%)
Yes. It works very well. Many people in my club power off old PC power supplies. If you have an AT power supply it will be a piece of cake. ATX isn't much harder, you'll just need to add a switch.
   Icepic (-15%)
I am using this one with an old ATX Pc power supply unit. Works fine . I had to solder one light bulb on the unit to make it runnig without mainboard
   jbarcham (25%)
Hi, I recently bought two of these chargers. I converted an old PC power supply (430watt) in to a bench supply using the yellow and black wires. I drilled holes in the power supply and fitted 4 female plugs (2 and 2-) allowing me to plug in both chargers at once using the banana plugs supplied..The power supply provides 15A across both rails to the chargers...works a treat. Charging 2 6s 3000mAh batteries at once at 6amps each (2C). Instructions..although I only used the yellow wires for the 12 volts. ***********instructables****/id/Convert-an-ATX-Power-Supply-Into-a-Regular-DC-Powe/

I have just received my 8150 charger which looks great, but having spent hours running through the manual and all the menu screens I cannot locate the LiPo charging programs! I only seem to be able to access LiFe (In the LiXX group) in 'Program Select'. Am I missing something or just being a bit dense? Can anyone help please.
   Michael (25%)
go into the User Set Program menu and change the lipo/life voltage to 3.7, now it should be lipo
   mluyben (34%)
Change the cell voltage to 3.7V in the charger setup, then it will show LiPo.
Default is LiFe.
   Brutis (73%)
It should come default set to lipo mode but you should be able to set 3.7v lipo, 3.6v and I think 3.3v in program mode push the up down buttons to change it.

I just received my turnigy accucel-8 charger and the leads or charge plugs on the charger do not match the battery connectors, what do i need to be able to charge the 5 cell batteries thanks
Robert..
   Brutis (73%)
Go buy some leads the match your battery or change the plugs on your battery to suit. Your choice. Do u know how to solder?
   Brutis (73%)
what battery u got, go get some bannana plugs and soilder the same connectors as ur lipos on to it.
   mike929 (15%)
the easiest thing to do is to make a jumper plug. because most of the batteries you order from hobbyking have the xt-60 plug, so go to you local hobby shop or order some connectors from hobby king and make a adaptor plug.
   Carlos Jose (8%)
you have to install deans, or bullet connectors, both the battery and or the charge plugs.

Replace first seven stars with http colon slash slash, and middle four stars with dot com.
Or do a google search for accucell 8150 manual. On the first page click on accucell 8150 manual - charger (rcuniverse link). Scroll to user "guver" and click on the Attachment.pdf link.

BTW, this Accucell 8 balances wonderfully, but I was hoping for more than the max 25 watt discharge. At that 25 watt max discharge rate, the upper left area of the charger gets quite hot, so be careful. I use an external fan to help keep it cool. As some have said, 2S will balance if put into the 3S slot with black wire all the way to the right. This charger is well worth the extra money over the Accucell 6 (which can't balance to save its life).

the charger 8150 is a 150W unit so you should match it with a 150W power supply unit at least
   ken (22%)
This charger , works fine anyware from 11 to 18 volts (imput power). however keep in mind power supplys in general usally yeald slightly lower or higher , than rated . However 14 v is well within the safe range , and should give you great preformance on larger packs , and higher charge rates . I have a 12 of these chargers, and use them daily from 8am to 5pm , without a single failure yet. As I own Robotic Aerial Videography , in the US. All 6 of my crews carry 2 of these per van . We love them . Hope this helps , Ken

6A - 14V. Is perfect, but you have to check the connectors (bannana type), Thats enought current for charging up to 6 cell lipo.

Hi all
This charger has a FAST CHARGE command for LIPO.
When can we use it or is it OK to use it ?
Thank you
   nitrovice (48%)
you can use it anytime.
the question is will it shorten the life of your cells in the long run? probably
   bigrog (68%)
It should not affect the battery life since fast charge is only faster than a normal charge because it terminates at one fifth the initial charge current rather than one tenth. The only side effect will be that the charge capacity will be less.
   Icepic (-15%)
You can choose the carge current in 0,1 Amp steps. So you can decide by yourself how fast you want to charge. I charge my Lipos at 1,5c at the field and 0,8c at home
   nogahyde (23%)
You can use the fast charge command at any time. Just don't charge over 1C charge rate unless battery states more.

When I connect the charger to the battery and chose NiMH discharging, the charger just says 'END' after a few seconds without discharging the battery at all. I have no problem charging and discharging LiPo-cells, I only have problems when discharging NiMH-cells.Do I need to use some special settings when discharging NiMH-cells? I've tried with different cells and get the same result everytime.(I enter 1,2v and 0,3A in the discharge-settings when discharging a normal 1,2v 2300mAh battery - that's the correct settings, right?).Hope to get good answers...Esko79

"Btw, this charger DOES balance 2 cell lipos, just shave the guides off the balance connector and insert it into the far right 3 connectors on the 3 cell slot!"

Has anyone tried this?

Or is there an adapter that can be bought to balance charge 2-2s through the 4s port? If so link please as I am unable to find.

Or would this work?

I just plug my 2 cell battery into the 3 cell slot. I used a hobby knife to mod the slot on the 3 cell slot on the charger. Instead of cuting the tab of all my batteries. It works great and I still can not plug the batteries in wrong. FYI

Same here I just plug my 2 cell battery into the 4 cell slot. I used a hobby knife to mod the slot on the 4 cell slot on the charger. Instead of cuting the tab of all my batteries. It works great and I still can not plug the batteries in wrong. only thing is when looking at each cell voltage c3 and c4 just show zero. nothing wrong with that because nothing pluged into c3 or c4.

Hey, I had a funky thing happen to my charger today. I was charging some 6s 5000mAh packs, and I looked over at my charger, and there were some weird characters flashing on the screen. It looked like Chinese characters along with the Omega Symbol. I unplugged it from my PSU and reset it, and it seems ok now. Its set up for english, should I plug the charger into my computer? Are there any updated for it? It charges my packs fine, but I'm worried to walk away from it while its charging. Thanks in advance.

I bought this power supply for Christmas. Has been used outdoors, -5 C frost, has worked without problems (5-7A). At home, problems with temperature, seems to me, after few minutes of charging, there is something like BSD Windows screen and Chinese characters. Should I turn and turn and even then he invites to the end without problems. This problem he is experiencing in the high current (+5 A), I must also in such 2 A Try

Had a similar problem with a imax b6ac, seemed to be linked to loose balance connections on the charger (they would move around with a little force) the weird characters would appear then. it was very sporadic, sometimes appearing randomly - exchanged the charger and haven't had the problem again.

I have exactly the same issue. Now and then, I get weird characters on the display. Goes away when I restart the charger but I don't have confidence in the charger. Just wrote an e-mail to customer service. Let's see what they say.

i encounter some problems with this charger. one of my LiPo's does not charge. I recieve an error: "connection failure"that same LiPo on a different charger has no troubles. when i google, i found more people with this same problem. anyone know how to solve this ?

I occasionally have the same problem with mine. I've just tried disconnecting the charger from power a few times (with the pack disconnected,) and then it'll start working again. Or I'll use my backup Accucel-6, which also does that sometimes.

I've tried taking the charger apart to see if there were any loose ends, but it looks like they clamped the housing onto the board, and I don't want to wreck the thing trying to open it up. I've also examined the balance pins on the charger and my LiPos, but everything looks OK.

You might want to spend a few bucks on an Accucel-6 as a backup when your charger is acting up.

Does this charger come w/ a manual, because me Accuel-6 did not..
And where do you download the manual from? I've just been fumbling around finding out things for myself.

My 8150 does not count minutes correctly. The safety timer is programmable up to 720 minutes. If you have the safety timer programmed for more than 255 minutes, it will only count to 255 and then starts over again at zero. This sucks! You need to know how many minutes have passed.Have I got something set wrong or do I have a defective charger?

Hi all,
does enybody know, where I can buy or get SW or CD for this Charger?
   Sloperdude (70%)
Yes, you want to download the LogView software and use the setting for Bantam e-charger 8. Read some of the reviews to find out where you can get it.

Hi.
Has anyone solved a problem with the display? My charger shows unknown characters after pressing the stop-button. Sometimes the displayed chatacters clear away. Then you have to plug out and on again.

fixed the fault, just re-soldered the balancer board top and bottom where it connects to main board. never had a problem sence and works great. can be done easy if you have same fault, just unscrew side of balancer and solder. thanks.
