i got 2 of them for my kids to have fun at home. yes it was nice to fly it after short charg out of the box. and you do not worry about crashing or breaking it realy durable. but after few charges the battery would not fly it as befor. so it got bad with less power. had it replaced with another but of same size. it did fly with good power but again went week. i think the problem is the discharging when it gose too low, or the charging after use is cause. i could not adjust the rudder, or the elevator to have a noticable effect on the flying,,, but i trid it out door in day light the IR sensor did not work properly. but at night with street lights it was fun to fly and the rang of 10 meters was no limit for us. after all it is nice gift for the kids and will keep them busy for some time.

I would like to buy few of these as gifts for few kids, but I would like to know first if it comes in a box like any other toy. I don't want the kids to think I gave them some used old things..
   Robachan (79%)
Florin, yeah, unlike the cheapo helicopters sold here, these come in real retail boxes with color pictures and clear plastic to see the plane inside. Google "Shantou Lanyu" and it should be the first link to check it out. MiniCessnaTW781

Yes, it comes in a box.

Mine came in a purpose made foam box inside a printed cardboard box with an a/c shaped window to show off the real thing inside. Nice flier too. I had to add a little bit of nose weight to get it to fly better. I had one wee problem while recharging from the mains - the charger blew up and zapped the battery. I bought 2 more batteries slightly larger capacity which should work OK with the added nose weight removed. I haven't tried it yet. Should be great for you and the kids.

yes it comes in colourfull box

I made two flights and I lightly hit the wall. Now, when I turn on the transmitter, the motors both go at quarter speed, I cannot throttle up or down, just quarter throttle the whole time. It will still turn but no throttle control. I tried reseating the batteries in the Transmitter. Any ideas?!
   Dane (24%)
Awesome little plan my nephew love it!
   Docta (63%)
I fixed it! The problem was the throttle sensor had come loose inside the transmitter. I just unscrewed a few screws, opened the transmitter, and set it back in the tracks and it works! It looks like there were 2 screws missing from the circuit board. I found 2 new ones and that seems to have solved the problems.

reprogram the esc and check it for damage befor your next flight
   kai (32%)
the esc cannot be re programed!

Its nice if this plane really have a 2 meters turning radius, because I have other plane which have 3 meters.
Still looking for a perfect roomflyer (for a bedflyer, cant find anything better than a freespirit/solopro YET)
Thank you HC and all great members.

Hi,do you reckon you could put an elevator servo on this plane? Or would it way it down to much?
Thanx
   Felix (35%)
Oh... and can this plane fly in a staight line, or does it ortamatically go into a turn when you take off? Cheers
   liggo 76 (61%)
this plane is to small for elevator servo weight would be just to great for this small plane

I have a few questions about the Cessna. Can it turn with the throttle off (zero throttle turn)? Can the foam "elevator" be adjusted to modify the angle of flight for slower/higher alpha flight? The videos I have seen just show it circling in a small space. I would love to see it in a larger area.

Thanks, Greg
   Watto (58%)
It has no turning capability when the throttle is off. I have been unable to do high-alpha with the plane, though I have managed a loop and stall turns.
   liggo 76 (61%)
sorry it needs throttle to to turn it needs a slightly bigger area to fly but my son tried it out side but the son interfers with the infared signal

Hi guys!

I'm thinking about to buy this little plane, but:
I think the charing process is not the best for LiPo-s. This may cause they will have shorter lifetime, than LiPos charged with 1C on a normal charger.
I can't change this, to apply some connectors and cables there is no place, and it will be an extra weight.
So I decided to buy an extra cell of the same type what is in this plane, so I can change it, when the original dies. But I don't know what type is it. I only know the cell count, it is 1s, 3.7V. I need the capacity. Does anybody opened this plane, and look what is it? Or anybody do it now for me? :)

Thanks in advance, and sorry for my ***r english, I'm from Slovakia
Best regards,
Dave

I will order the new 50mAh 20C cell from Zippy.

just answerd my own ques, it slows 1 motor down to steer lol
12/29/2009
lloydcole (69%)
also how can they charge 390g when it only wieghs 9g
   brett1984 (69%)
the plane weight is 9g, the transnitter will way a lot more, plus the box it comes in, then they will box it to protect it to be shipped, add it up........
   brett1984 (69%)
sorry i shoul of wrote ''transmitter''

lloydcole (69%)
does this have servos that move the rudder and elevator or even alierons??
   brett1984 (69%)
no sevos it works by the thrust of the 2 motors on the wings
   lloydcole (69%)
so how do you steer?
   lloydcole (69%)
so how do you steer?
   zillom (61%)
I don't think. It too small and light. And the rx is "IR" and i don't think that you add servo... Regards
   nogahyde (19%)
Just rudder and elevator. And they use actuators ( I think that's how they are spelled ) to run them.
   liggo 76 (61%)
this actual plane does not have any servos it just uses thrust for lift and variable thust to turn
   liggo 76 (61%)
no this plane use the thrust from the motor to turn no servos

Does anyone have this model and if so does the plane have a selector switch, like the radio appears to have, where you can set the frequency to A, B or C and so enable up to 3 models to fly in the same operating air space?I'd like to buy two and fly one with my son..
   moller123456 (59%)
No i does not. only the controller
   brett1984 (69%)
yes it does, i have a helicopter with the same transmitter but it would only work if the planes have different frequencys
   Watto (58%)
This plane has no selector switch, however the channel IS programmable. The first channel it sees 'broadcasting' when it is turned on, is the one it will be bound to until it is turned off. So even though they all say 'channel A' on the box, you can in reality make any work on either channel A, B or C.
   Watto (58%)
Also, the transmitter does have a selecter, so you can choose either A, B or C channel.
   Paul (63%)
Switch 1st transmitter on (set to A)and then the plane. Keep the transmitter hidden then. I keep hand over Infra red top on transmitter so beam cannot shine out. Then switch 2nd transmitter on (have it set to B before switching on). Then turn 2nd plane on, it will learn 2nd transmitter fequency. Basically the plane learns the frequency from the transmitter it sees. I have one of these and my son too. This is how we learned to get them both working at the same time.

Can I put my receiver of my transmiter module futaba????? or it is too mutch weight for the plane???

   MegaTesla (74%)
If your receiver with two brushed esc's weigh 1-2 grams then it will work *)
