For this price and "millitairy quality" as stated on Hoffman Magnetic's site you would expect some bulletproof performance tables! I would buy this motor since it's layout is exactly what I'm looking for, but we customers want an elaborate test review with all kinds of props and # of lipo cells!

HK is just giving you guys some variety.
These are motors from the USA. Of course they're going to be expensive.

This looks like another price-marketing attempt. If you can't compete on features (and you really cannot distinguish this motor from another) you can always try to give it an air of exclusivity by giving it a very high price. Not many people will buy it (the margin makes up for that) but the side effect is that it stretches up the price-range perception of other people. So other customers might be more tempted to buy the more expensive motors here that are now suddenly mid-range.
Me, I always go for cheap.

"start-of-the-art"? Nice one.

The Motor looks not very special. The price must be a typo?

I the price is real, you will have to add a lot of technical data to sell even one of those *)

I think the price is real, found some other sites (which had higher price..) It is supposed to be 100W, but from a 27g motor is not extreme, it is just above standard. Brand is hyped as most other brands. I would say it is just like a Hyperion 2205 or AXI 2204, and a pricetag that goes along with it. This motor has plenty of rivals in the Turnigy segment:)

I was about to say the same thing, but then there was always axi motors. Who knows, maybe it's worth someone enough to see the benefit of this motor over others. We just don't know enough about this Hoffman I think. If it was to Tonic X or scorpion name brand we probably wouldn't be asking so much of the price tag

HC have plenty of brushless motors in 5-6$ range that are very sufficient for small 3D

But i will consider to buy this 47$ one if i want to fly a xerox.

C'mon HC !!!!! Personnally, i prefer buy 2 good and cheaps motors (i got motors with defects bearings a few times) than one motor for almost 50 bucks !!!
