Hello everyone, i would like to use this as a pusher. What type of mount do you guys suggest? Thanks!
   campbell0926 (50%)
You can use the mount that comes with it, this motor is capable of having the shaft reversed to become a pusher. I have used it as a pusher on several of my planes. It's a great motor!

This motor ROCKS in a Funjet! As was mentioned in the reviews, 110 mph is easy with this combo: This motor (Turnigy 2836-2350kv)! Turnigy Plush 60a ESC. Turnigy 1800ma 4S 40C battery (light!). APC Speed 400 5.5x4.5 This combo is FAST! My in the air speedo reads consistently between 107 and 112 with this combo.

hey if i use a 3s 2200 battrey with 40amp speed controller how long will be the flight duration right now i m using hxt 900 motor in my funjet its just not fast enough
   Zaloha (50%)
I have this motor with TowerPro H40A Brushless Speed Controller and ZIPPY Flightmax 2200mAh 3S1P 25C in my funjet. And i can flight about 10min to full power and about 15min on half power:)
   Locklear (34%)
depending on your throttle control 6 to 8 mins flight time without swelling your battrey.
   fiqabumm (43%)
thanks for the help now i only have 20c battries do i need 30c or more or will my battries work
   bgaskill (25%)
Multiply the c rating times the battery size for available amps. 20 X 2.2= 44amps 2200=2.2amps If it has a burst rating of 25c then 25X2.2=55amps on short bursts.

Uzy4962 I used the Corona metel gear servos. Got them from hobbcity for around $12 each. I'm running the same motor and have had no problems with these servos. You will have to make the servo slot just a little bigger. Clocked mine at 116mph with a 4.75 x 4.75 and Rhino 1850mAh 4cell 40c LiPos. Be careful I'm pulling 45amps and the motor gets warm. close to 60amps may be too much. Would hate to see you fry your motor.

Hey all, I just tested my funjet with this motor installed this morning. The best way to install is cut the upper deck of the funjet about 40mm back from the plastic cone and then glue in place. You can then fit the motor cowl and motor mount with good access to the wires. Because its an outrunner you need to ensure that you tape down the wires. I connected to a turnigy 60amp and the flight max 4cell 20c lipos. WOW!!!!! this thing is easily the quickest funjet I have built. Word of warning I wasnt sure how quick it would be and installed hxt900 servos. Nothing against these but they just could not handle it. The speed was to much for them and it nearly ended in tears. I would be grateful for any suggestions on servos from HC. Oh prop was 6 x 5.5 and pulling close to 60amps.
   Bradley (78%)
Try the D-MG16. You will need to cut out some foam, and even then it's a tight fit. but these servos have excellent torque for their thickness. Cut the servo arms just enough to fit under the stock servo covers.

Uzy I also like to rock n roll with small and fast foamies withou worry about servo stall... So , for small planes (whicjh need light servos I can recomend corona 939 (12g) and bms385 (17g). Both digital and metal gear, first is faster and second one mentioned is stronger. I do not have a funjet but as per it has small elevons, both will do great (I like to fly 1m wingspan fast zaggies which have much large control surfaces and I roll at full speed with no worries).

I have tried this motor with various prop on 3S and 4S on a MPX Funjet using a SS 60A ESC and Flightmax 2200 25C 3S and Flightmax 2200 20C 4S. I was looking for top speed and measured using Doppler. All props are APC. 4S AUW is 23oz (I have a heavy paint job on it)

3S:
6x4: 71mph
5x5: 75mph
5.25x6.25: 77mph (getting warm)

4S:
4.1x4.1: 75mph
4.75x4.75: 84mph
5.5x4.5: 86mph
5.25x6.25: 92mph (wayyy too hot!)

Hope this helps!
   mattyhawk (81%)
Correction, the 5.5x4.5 on 4S yielded 91mph (confirmed 7.21.09)

To answer the person in the reviews who asked if the shaft is reversible, the answer is yes. You will need to grind a slot for the c-clip on the end of the shaft. I did it with a Dremel tool and a thin cutting wheel.

Turbobeaver (98%)
For the length of time this motor has been available for, there doesn't seem to be much user experience posted here.Has anyone not tried this on a Funjet,Stryker or park jet yet?Hard to believe!
   vasy1 (59%)
How do you mount an outrunner into a stock stryker? I did try this motor but it destroyed 4 motor mounts in a span of about a week, it just wears out the inside. When it did work, stryker was a rocket, stock servos had no chance of controlling it, had to go with servos with 3 times the torque.
   Eric (39%)
On mine, the motor rubbed the stock motor mount too. So I took a rotary tool (dremel) and worked the inside of the motor mount to create more space. Only 1-2 mm all around was all it took. Smoothed it down with sandpaper, and it was good to go. Several flights with no rubbing or any other problems.

You can get a rotary tool from Autozone for fifteen bucks.

seems powerful, whats the prop suitable for 2200mah 11.1V ?
   mattyhawk (81%)
I found a 7x4 will work, but gets hot. A 6x4 is in the sweet spot.

minitel (79%)
Good for 3s stryker upgrade?
   Eric (39%)
minitel, I put this on my Stryker after trying a Turnigy 2700kv inrunner. This works way better!

"Watts Up" meter shows about 36-38 amps, 400+ watts using the 6x4 prop from parkzone. Just flew it today with Unlimited Vertical, Very fast, motor came down not even warm.

Fits in the stock motor mount after using a rotary tool to sand out some extra space in there so the "outrunner" motor would not s****e the edges (motor s****ed the edges at first, not too hard to get it to work nicely).

My Stryker setup:
Rhino 2250 3s 30c Lipos
E-Flite 30 amp ESC
Turnigy 2836 2350kv Outrunner
6 x 4 prop
Parkzone Servos x 2
Spektrum Dx6i with AR500 rx

very good motor
i use it in a coroplast pylon with a 5x5 apc propeller, 2200 20c lipo, 40amp controller and it fly very very well and fast
