I read that you can hook up a computer power supply for a power source. I have a 400 watt power charger, there are a lot of connectors coming out of it. How do I hook it up to the charger?
 minirider42 41 points
you need to transform it a little, my english is too bad to explain but search for tutorials, it' s pretty easy *)
 SPARGO 1 points
Thank you for your reply, I did just that, searched and found several solutions, my charger is happily charging my batteries.

I compared the charger to buy another of the same make and model, and I have not sold USB port to update the firmware and unfortunately does not work on battery charging nimh nicd nor in. comparé* el cargador que compre con otro de igual marca y modelo, y el que me vendieron no tiene puerto USB para actualizar el firmware y lamentablemente no funciona en la carga de baterias nimh y tampoco en nicd.

The charger GT-A6-10 I received appears to be faulty.
Began to charge a NiMH battery pack and burnt. When I put a load another pack I realized that loads very quickly and does not like me I set it to boot.
No warranty sent it because shipping is very expensive and the shipping cost is not refundable. I am very disappointed. as being a more expensive charger thought it would be better and it is not.
It does not work. Bad charger, not recommended: (
Best results IMAX B6 never a problem ...

No funciona. Mal cargador, no lo recomiendo :(

Can I use this for a 4s2p, 30c, 4200 mAH battery (zippy)??

allo, Until now I have used only one for two and a half years. Charging almost everyday 20 batteries. Now it broke down. Very good charger for the price.

Hi, I have the turnigy accucel 6 but i would like a better charger, do you think this charger is better than accucel 6, i want better balance and generally better charge, because i have a lot faulty batterries and i think it's charger's problem.

What is the Built-in Lithium Battery Intenal Resistance testing System ?
dmitryl  14 points - 9/30/2012

Is it possible to measure an internal resistance of the cell using this charger? Is there a cheap method to measure and internal resistance of the battery cells? Thank you!
 Dirk 32 points
No not possible with this charger. But: it is simply one of best chargers regarding it's price if you have to charge 6S/5000mAh.
 dmitryl 14 points
Which one would you recommend for charging 8S cells?
AlexGlobe  1 points - 5/25/2012

Hello everybody! The specification says that this charger can discharge at 5A, but when I discharge it shows only 2.5A maximum. Why I can't discharge at 5A?

I have the GTA-6-10 200 watt charger and it came with a USB cable and a little circuit adapter thingy. it's some kind of USB to Futaba converter. nothing in the manual about this. can anyone tell me what it is for and if there is any literature on it? Heath

I just bought this charger and cant seem to get it to detect on my WinXP and Win7 PC. I installed the driver on the CD first then installed the monitor software and then turned it on and then plugged it in. Both PC's get a pop up and says a USB device not recognized over and over along with the noise when you plug in a USb device. Can anyone help to why it's doing this
 JohnyR 10 points
Make sure your USB cable is not too long, that's if you are using an extension. Else, use a real short cable directly into motherboard. Hope this helps John
 Killerinc 1 points
Actually i figured it out...I figured also just use the USB cable provided, but without proper instructions i took the USB cable and plugged it in the piece that has a circuit board, and the other end into the Futaba Heat sensor connector on the Charger itself, So cable into circuit board then into Futaba and it is working (green LED's are on) thx for your help

Does this require a power supply to be connected to 220v inhouse plug? If so, which should I buy? Thanks!
 RaptorF22 16 points
A 12v - 13v DC power supply which can supply at least 20Amps of power, HobbyKing has a great collection of power supplies.
 Elton 18 points
Yes, you need a power supply, which makes the role of the car battery. This source of 12 volts may be one source of PC, changed, take a look www.link para carregador Or buy one from Hobby King, for example this 12-volt 5A (60 watts), which already serves to charge the 3000mAH batteries in one www.link that you take care not to load more than 3A, to take a break.
 mikey09120 26 points
220v power supply is required and due to the high voltage, a low amperage is needed to output the same wattage
Charles  5 points - 6/13/2011

Is there software - or driver, that I can use to program the charger from my PC?
I plugged it in to PC but PC didn't recognize the unit.
 RaptorF22 16 points
I has the sane issue while using an XP machine, Switched to Win 7 and it works fine, BTW you need to get the charger into setup mode by pressing some buttons and turning on the power.
Charles  5 points - 6/13/2011

I can only get settings for 1S or 6S Lipo's. How do I get to 3S setting? All my batteries are 3S.
 RaptorF22 16 points
If you connect the balance connector from the battery to the charger it will auto detect the cell count.

Can I disable the two hour timer for the Pb setting? It's very inconvenient when charging large capacity Pb batteries, to restart every two hours... Regards, Jan.

Yes, you can do it in User Set > program > safety timer.

my charger came without the software for reading in the PC, can someone give m this software? my email rjsaff*terra****.br. Another problem is that when I put a battery to balance it gives error 5s low battery Seluler on Thursday, someone knows how to solve this problem?
 jeanjean 78 points
I receive the same product this day and its a very good product, you can use driver at the address following. www.link
Install it first and after download Logview at the address : www.link install it
It work very good. For the error i think that your accu have a too low voltage on one cell.

Robert... ? I wonder how you have received your Battery Charger when mine has been on back order for now like maybe a month?

I ordered my charger on July 7th. At the time they were showing something like 15 in stock. I also paid using paypal. Don't know if that had anything to do with it.

I have just received this charger the other day and notice that when i was done charging the battery it would show the battery voltage of 12.8VDC, but when the battery was checked with a FLUK meter it was actually 12.3VDC. Is there a way to calibrate the charger to show the correct VDC.
lfibich  12 points - 7/19/2010

I ordered this - along with another item. That item was "FOREVER" not in stock and held up my order - so I cancelled that item. Then this battery charger that was showing on my order as "Reserved" was then changed to "Back Order" and now again - a "forever" wait? Meantime, I get idiot answers when writing.

I have just found the most likely suspect for my chargers "Break Connection" problems. Seems that there is a resistor that burnt out and is causing me all these problems. Does anyone know what size resistor is used inside? The resistors position is directly under the fan and is labeled as 'RV1'. Any help would be much appreciated!
 Ryan 41 points
I have the same issue so if you find anything pleeeease help me too!! heh thnx...I have the ECO-6 which is the same pretty much
 sparkyfarky 235 points
have u tried inserting the white connector as well as the main connector on the lipo battery into the charger. that might solve the break connections.. give that a try.
 Ionshock 134 points
Yeah, I tried all means. I opened it up and found the missing connection. I have also found what seems to be a suitable repair piece. When I have time, I'll try to solder it in and see how it goes.. Gonna take awhile, its hard to fully tear apart the device.
ECTOR  152 points - 5/18/2010

I wait about 45 days for my order aof this charger.....how long i must wait till arive ?
 JonesRC 280 points
Worth to wait. I purchased two of these and quality is higher than Turnigy's own chargers (I have one). Lot's of charging power for rapid charge. Recommended.

Mine also do the same from the very first time I think is a defective batch so HK is suppose to recall all that chargers I'm very frustrated ATTENTION HOBBYKING WHAT'S GOIN ON HERE IS YOUR FAULT I'M NOT GOIN TO THROW MY MONEY TO A TRASH I THINK YOU NEED TO REFUND THE SPEND OF THE SHIPPING FOR RETURNE THE CHARGER
Raymundo  111 points - 3/11/2010

I have also received a defective charger! No matter what I choose to do, "CONNECTION BREAK" appears. It really get's me upset because I think they know it costs a lot of money to ship them back for a refund/exchange, that most people don't do it, so HobbyQueen get's all the money from selling defective products.
I should have taken other reviews seriously. As, it is common for people to get a defective charger, no matter which model/brand they choose.
Why is HobbyKing taking this risk, because it doesn't matter in the end. All $$ for these guys. I have not been able to afford to send it back sooner, until now. I am a first timer/noob, and I would have taken my "MAIDEN" flight, if it weren't for this damn charger issue!

40 thumbs up!
Was going to buy a Hyperion dual charger, tried my buddies, it was a bit of a pain. I saw this and ordered 2 instead. I only use it to charge Lipo but it supports any battery you would ever want to charge and you can program in whatever charging profiles you desire. Instructions are a bit hard to understand at first but reasonable enough that you wont get lost and it is fairly intuitive. It came with everything, temp probe, usb cable, every adapter imaginable (some of the wires a bit skinny to support a 10a charge though, just my personal opinion). I tested my packs after charging using a high end automotive scope. Cells were exactly balanced and readouts were accurate. It lets you monitor all the usuall info that all chargers have nowadays.
My only gripe was one of the 2 was DOA.

I should have been warned by other reviews, where people will get defective chargers, on their first order. That's what happened to me, & because of it, I am not able to tale my first flights, with the LiPo's I just bought.
After 2 years of building my biplanes, & I finally have everything required to fly, my new charger has to NOT WORK!
No matter what I do, to begin a charging/balancing cycle, "CONNECTION BREAK" continues to pop up!$40-ship
