keep the motor under 40000rpm to avoid excessive heating and/or bearing failure.

there is no big difference between 8.5 and 9T motors. This motor will work with turnigi60a esc. I think this motor should be strong enough for models 1/10 and smaller even with 2s lipo.

I use this motor with turnigy 35a ESC, lipo 2s. The ESC running warm, the motor stays in about 60-75 ceusius. The 9t motor will works fine in 1/10 buggy, more kv than 9t the car stays a little out of control, 9t have a good balance.

I used the 35a Hobbywing esc in mine.It lacked power off the blocks. Ifyou use a 60a esc or higher,it should be fine. I am using HK's 100a 6.5t combo on mine now. Very very smooth and powerful.

Yes. I installed this into my Stampede with no problems. I'm running a v6.6 LiFeP04 battery and it rips. Can wheelie from a stand still and if you punch it and actualy control the wheelie, it pretty much hard to steer. :) It might be a bit much with a higher voltage battery, but for $30, how can you go wrong. Like others have said, this is actually a 380 motor not a 540. It's hot after 5-7 seconds of holding you finger on it after hard bashing. Is this to hot, I don't know.

11.1 volts work???

You can put any voltage on allmost any motor. With this you control the max RPM of the motor. This one is 4300KV, that means: 4300 rpm per Volt. So on 11.1 Volt it turn in theory without losses at 11.1x4300=47730 rpm. It depends on youre gearing and use how much amps you pull. You can use one motor with allmost the same power at 2 or 3 cells if you change the gearing accordingly.
