How many poles on this motor?
 munsaf 301 points
6 pole motor? How did you come to that conclusion? When people is asking for poles on a electric motor, it is the magnetic poles that are ment. So this motor does have 14 poles!

BTW - this engine isn't worth its price. I got one of it and it has burned after approx 30 flights. Now I own AXI and it rocks!

Even its shaft cannot be backordered. What a loss! I love this series...

Hy, does anybody know, if the replacement-shaft of the normal Aerodrive 35-36 does fit into this one (the AeordriveXP SK), because the original could not be ordered anymore? Seems to be similar...

I have only used this motor for 6 flights with a plush 60a Speedy and a 10x5 prop. went very well but now have a bearing problem, the shaft knocks when lateral torque applied on the prop.Dont know if its the front or back bearing though.
Please can anyone advise how to change out the bearings. They are nsk which are supposed to be good quality Japanese ones, thats why I chose this brg instead of the cheaper ones.
What do you recommend as a replacement and where can I buy these. I live in Brisbane in Oz.
Many thanks, John H

PEOPLLE SEEM NOT TO KNOW THAT QUALITY JAPANEESE BEARINGS COST A LOT OF MONEY, ACTUALLY MORE THAN THIS ENGINE.

TURNIGY SK WERE SUPPOSE TO BE REALLY GOOD ENGINES.

AFTER ALL THEY APPEARED TO HAVE BAD BEARINGS - LIKE 75 OF HK ENGINES.

BEARINGS IN HK IS THE BIGGEST ISSUE.

WHAT DO I NEED A PERFECT ENGINE FOR WHEN IT HAS ****TY BEARINGS.

MODELMOTOR IS THE COMPANY TO GO.

I ID A TEST >

EXTRACTED THE MOTOR SHAFT TO ONE SIDE - IT MOVED 2-2.5mm on top

TO THE OTHER SIDE - OTHER BEAR

9 thumbs up!
Works very well in a Multiplex Blizzard. Using it with Turnigy Super Brain 60 ESC, Rhino 3s 2250 mah 30c lipo and Graupner 9x6 folding prop. Vertical is absolutely ballistic. Motor gets only warm with over 7 minutes of powered hotliner flying. Forget the Multiplex Power Tuning set, and get this at a much better price. I have flown both setups and this is equally as good. This is a budget setup that flies like you burned some cash. Highly recommended. As was posted by another user this motor is very well suited for the Multiplex Blizzard. I found a higher C rated Lipo to deliver better performance.

6 thumbs up!
A consistent quality would be good!
I'm doing on these engines always a new winding (~ 10pcnt more eta) for Aircombat.
With the recent black SK could remove the winding smoothly and cleanly.
Now I got a gold / silver SK, in which the very sticky winding was removed only with problems.
Too bad! Since a repair is difficult.

5 thumbs up!
Very potent motor -
Draws 50A on a 8x7 on 3s
One major flaw tho is the shaft - breaks/bends very easily
