With my DD-8040 203x102mm it wont fit perfect (bit loose). What adapter I should use to make the DD prop fit in the motors integrated prop saver?
   alvarope (34%)
Puedes comprar un O-ring de el mismo diametro o uno mayor .
Se necesita lijar un poco el interior de la helice para que ajuste con el motor.
Para colocar el O-ring solo necesitas un desarmador plano

better to use a gws 8x4.3 SF prop (for use on 2 cells), it fits straight on, gives slightly better static thrust and is a wee bit more efficient.

I have a GWS EP Propeller (DD-8040 203x102mm)
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10046

can it fit this motor or does it need a special mount?
   AndrewKa (34%)
I use DD-8040 whith this motor. Fits well whith integrated propsaver.

So, what is a prop shaft size that will fit with this motor?

Why not put it out in the front so that people won't be asking same stupid questions over and over matched with equally dull ambigious answers lke, "...it fits my xxx perfectly."

Why don't Chinese people ever learn to do thing the righ way?
   Riccardo (10%)
Hi, this motor has a usual propsaver already there. It is well shown in the picture. You can mount a usual indoor propeller. Sizes are on the product page.
   Jaysee (28%)
Yes why not the manufacturer's datasheet. Maybe due to production variation? The motor is shipped with 4 black fixing screws and two natural lightweight rubber bands. The shaft diameter where you see the screws to hold the prop-saver rubber band is : Diameter 7,9 mm Height : 4,5 mm. Above that there is a little reduced shaft to center the propeller and is : Diameter 5,4 mm Height 1,5 mm I found a perfect matching prop : GWS DD7735 J

use a 8x4

Got this motor recently and put it in my scratchbuilt shockflyer. Havent flown it yet since my ESC is fried (have a new one on order).

As already stated the wires are very stiff and brakes easily. What I did was first put some hotglue where the wires comes out of the motor to secure that they dont brake close to the motor. Second thing I did was to solder three silicone insulated wires to the stiff ones and bundled them up with heatshrink. This way all three wires protect each other from bending too much and the flexible silicone ones takes up any movement. The silicone wires has the bullet connectors so disconnecting does not affect the stiff wires.

So does the prop saver mount on this motor accomodate both APC and GWS inner diameters? Anyone know?
   RKASweden (62%)
GWS slow-prop will fit perfectly. dont use DD.
GWS comes in "slow" or RD. Direct drive is DD and does not fit without extra adapter. Only "slow" or "RD" fit!
APC I do not know.
   maukabud (60%)
Ok, well thanks for the reply! Now that I've got 6 DD's coming lol! I'll figure something out, or get some RD's. Could have sworn I saw this motor w/ a GWS DD hanging off it! Ah well, that's half the fun innit, figuring things out?

i mount a GWS 6 x 3,7 x 3.5 and a APC 7X6 with out a problem. Bigger than 7 size APC props have a bigger hub, they still fit but it interferes with the prop saver elastic.
   paintballkidz (13%)
I had extra adapter from the slow flyer props, so i just sanded it down a bit and put it in the hole of the GWS dd prop and it fits perfectly

this motor accepts GWS's propeller like that : ***********hobbycity****/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10048&Product_Name=GWS_EP_Propeller_%28RD-8043_203x109mm%29_%286pcs/set%29 but not like that : ***********hobbycity****/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10046&Product_Name=GWS_EP_Propeller_%28DD-8040_203x102mm%29_%286pcs/set%29 and the APC are good with the adapters which are given with (the propellers not the motors)

de_kata (62%)
Can you tell me, when this motor will be in stock again?

groovejet (79%)
Will this motor work with a Tower Pro 9g ESC? I have tried 2 motors so far and neither of them work on this ESC. Hoping someone can tell me one way or the other before I spend even more time soldering extra ESCs and motors to find out.
   Daniel (40%)
I have one in a plane with the 12A 9gr TP ESC with no problems on 2 or 3s. I did have to disable the LVC using 2s by switching the ESC to the MiMh setting because auto detect thinks my 2s packs are 3s. Over half of my TP 12A ESC have this problem

orenwohl (28%)
when its gonna be on stok mid april is allredy over?

Andrew (89%)
Did someone has measured thrust of this motor with GWS 8x4.3? What is it's actual weight? How many poles does it have?
   vasikn (67%)
I can just say, that thrust is much more than enough with 3s in my 150g 3D shockflyer :-)
   ThunderBit (43%)
Using DriveCalc, at 7.2V a GWS RS 8x4.3 will give you a thrust of some 410 gr (14.5 oz). But the 2204-14T draws for this more than 8 Amps, and will burn out (max 7.5 Amps). So this might be a no-no *-)

Kim (46%)
I would like to suggest a minor but never the less useful change for next revision of this little gem. Manufacture the prop saver whit two step to accommodate the GWS DD propellers as well, as they have a slight larger inner diameter and will rattle, causing imbalance or even come loose and fall off.

Best regards
Kim
   Fidelity (82%)
Would anyone recommend using an E-Flite 8x6 SF with this motor? Or would it be to much of a prop?
   a_pilot (70%)
I run the TGY 8x3.8 SF and pull 6.5amps. I would expect an 8x6 SF to go over 7.5 which is the limit indicated.
