Warning (this may apply to you)
Last week I received 5 of these balancers together with some other stuff. It appeared to me these balancers had some quality problems that should be noticed. Part of these problems may not be present in all other devices. I solved these problems for myself (am engaged in electronics), thus avoiding reshipping cost & time. This solution may not be appriopiate to you, and may void warranty.
Issues:
1) soldering quality of the "through-hole" (wired)components was poor, especially for the balance power dissipating resistors (2Watt types) and balance connector J1. These components have thicker connecting wires. 2 devices (out of my 5) had loose J1 contacts after connecting and disconnected a Lipo pack only once. I resoldered all of these components. This may be a batch related problem.
2) 1 device had had a defective (blue) status led. Changed for a new one.
3) I found a third problem, which I consider as more severe. Besides of the balance connector J1, 2 power resistors (internally marked as R29 & R33) are located which dissipate pack cell energy while balancing takes place. These resistors are connected to your pack cells directly. Also present are 2 mounting screws which physically touch AND damage these resistors endcaps (on the involved side). This enables a short circuit condition for your cells via the balancer housing. No fusing is foreseen, although pcb interconnect lanes may act like fuses......

| Excellent product! It works just as well as any other popular brand. It seems to have a better (higher) discharge rate. Having a blue LED to confirm the balanced pack is a nice touch. It fits HXT, Zippy, Loong Max, etc. It works great during and after the charge.

Nice and small balancer. Works either during charge or - on the field - saparately from the charger.
The imbalance control voltage is +/- 15mV, the maximal balancing current 450 mA (!). Quite good for such a cheap product, most balancers in that price range have a smaller maximal current.
Optic / acoustic warning for over- and / or undervoltage.
Perfect for anybody who owns a LIPO charger without balancer.

| The instruction sheet shows pin numbers 1-5 starting top down the Smart balancer pins are numbered 1-5 starting bottom up. IMHO the charger should be changed to 1-5 top down. Once this anomaly realized (first thought my new 4s battery was bad 5s no problem because it fills the connector) the balancer performed faithfully and leveled all my HC batterys quickly.

Seems to balance really well. Why do I say this? Well, one of my packs took all night to balance. I guess it was pretty out of whack. Afterwards, whenever I charged up the pack, little to no balancing is needed.
Caveat: Does NOT fit Kokam battery balancer taps nor Thunder Power balance taps.

I own both a Imax 5 and 6 balance charger both of which struggle to balance a 3 or 4 cell Lipo correctly.
This balancer quickly balances all the cells perfectly (checked using a cellmeter 8)and allows a standard fast charge to be made and still maintain a good cell balance.
A must buy for those like me with a large Lipo collection.

| I bought two of these balancers. I can use a charger without balancer with them. That's a nice upgrade of this charger, at a fraction of the cost. And I can also balance the cells at the end of flight or just before the flight, just to be sure. Best of all, it balance even my 4500 mah cells while charging at 1C, as it has a good flow of current. All in one, a really good buy. I said it to my friend and he also bought one.

tried on 3 different brand zippy, loong max and esky and it works awesome.

| A simple practical and foolproof balancer that will balance packs that my Hyperion LBA10 NET 6S balancer will not!! So now i have packs that otherwise I would have discarded. I tend now to use this Yuntong balancer both before and after charging difficult packs. Saved its cost in one use.

| Will balance battery with or without charger attached. When battery is partially used, can balance battery before another flight. Good for extending battery life. Use for balancing before charging, during, and after charging as well. Good price. Every electric flyer should have one, because it is useful even if your charger has a built in balancer.

This balancer works great! I used it while charging my new packs and it kept the cells really close in voltage insuring a full charge.
I also used it on some old packs and it balanced them very well also.
It is smaller than I imagined which is great because it is very easy to fit in my tool box.
Totally automatic cell balancing, just set it and forget it!

| Got mine today, when i first connected my battery it started to come smoke from the unit! and i thought i had to return it. But after loosing the screws it worked just fine, i saw that there was a short circuit whit one of the screws and a component in the unit, it was easy to bend it away! it does the job just fine, it took about 2 hours to fix one of my battery's (3 cell) but i knew that one was pretty out of balance.. 3 stars because of the short circuit...
