Hi, does anybody know what timing should I set for my torque 4016T-500 extremeflight motor? I already crashed my extra when hovering with low timing. Already repaired my Extra and dont know what timing should I set, the medium or high. Pls Help!. Thanks

Start with medium, if you get motor 'squealing' then change to high. Ground test first.

does this speed control work with hyperion brushless motor .??? plz help me

I use the sentilon 100 on a z50-22S and its fine. DO put this one on high timing to avoid the dreaded screeching and timing loss. Reading between the lines the turnigy's possibly use the same processor so the issue maybe across the range. Should be fine though

does it matter how the three wires hook up to turnigy motor or do you just plug them in until the motor spins in the right direction?
Reply:
OldSkoolKool (2609 points);
Plug the wires together in any order, if it doesn't turn the way you want, swap any 2 wires and the rotation will reverse. Travis 10/10/09

I have the TURNIGY Plush 80A w/ UBEC Speed Controller. At 32 Amp. continuous operation the controller turned off. What is to do, or is the controller damaged?
Reply:
Martin (4 points);
Try to cool it otherwise is damaged.
Martin (4 points);
But there could be a problem with bateries low voltage of course. It means that the speed controller found the voltage low and it turns off.

Anyone get one of these that was DOA? I get nothing when I hooked it up- no beeps. And yes, I did read the directions 3 times. Motor is connected (Turnigy SK 50-65B), separate receiver pack (BEC was disconnected).

Can I use this ESC without connect a litlle battery for my revicer box? And does it work good with a 3s lippo? Hopeing for answer=)!

Roy (87 points);
Yes, you don`t need a seperate rx batt.
I`ve used this regulator on my T-rex 450 with just the 3 cell lippo. I used it on my T-rex 600E with just the 6 cell as well. Very good regulator.

Thanks alot for the answer Roy. Normally I wait 3-5 days b4 ppl answer me. Rly quick and helpfull answer. Thanks alot!=). I will buy 1 of theese when hobbycity gets it in again, for my jet=)! Thanks again:)

I had this ESC hooked to a Turnigy SK 50-55-58 with 2 Rhino 4900mAh 3s wired in series. On Saturday, after a full throttle take-off, I started a right aileron turn, then lost all servo response. With my Futaba 6 channel 2.4 GHtz radio system, the only thing I can contribute this to, is the BEC on this controller. My plane was a total loss. Has anyone else had this experience?

what will the program card lights need to be for a turn sk 35-48-1100kv,zippy 4celllipo 20c 4400 mah[2 batts in parralel],and the 80 amp esc.should i set timing to high,ect...ect. when running in parralel will the esc read 4cell or 8?any help would be great,stu
Bought this to replace my damaged CC 60 amp ESC at about a third of the replacement price and haven't regretted it. Also allowed me to dispose of the separate UBEC since it has a switch mode BEC built in - great! I did find that I had to set the Timing to High as recommended in the instructions to suit my big Himax outrunner (HC5018-530 on 6S Polyquests, 21.8volts @ 57 amps giving 1362 watts static on 13x6.5 APC-E)
I used to be a Castle only fan until I tried these controllers out and they are an excellent buy at a fraction of a Castle 80's cost. The fact that I no longer need to run a separate BEC for applications requiring 4s-6s just makes me a even bigger fan!!!

I've tested it on a mono 2 boat with a feigao 540 12L, a K42 propeller, and a zippy-H 4S 5Ah lipo.
whouah ! during test run of 9 minutes, with an average intensity of 40 Amps and a lot of peaks of power above 1 kw !! ( 81 amps @ 13.5 volts ) ==> the Turnigy plush 80A is stayed cold !
and some important details: - high quality wires with a good lenght - a good performance ubec - easy to program, even without the programming card.
to conclude: a great product !

When motor load abruptly changes, the ECS cause a motor stall. The phenomenon was verified on two different motors. It seems be a problem for 3D low exercises. Controller algorithm needs to be altered to work with particular loads or motors.

I have this ESC on a Hangar9 Showtime 50, with TURNIGY 50-55B 600kv Outrunner motor and 6s A123 2300mAh battery. Works great, the only setting I changed from the default is the cutoff voltage (went to Nixx mode with 60% cutoff voltage).
This also seems to be OK with 5 servos (4x Futaba 3003, 1x Futaba 3010).

I am using this ESC in a 62" Black Horse Mustang together with Axi4130 Equivalent Motor. From 6 Lipos I am drawing 55 Amps max. Standard laoding during flights is around 35-45 amps with flight times around 9 minutes. ESC stays cool. All around a very good product for the price, altough the programming is a little on the complicated side. Will try soon with the programming card.

Using this togheter with my Turnigy 42-60 motor and it works really good, especially togheter with the programming card makes programming really easy. The song you can choose on startup always put a smile on mye face when I go to fly. I fly it with 4 mini servos in a .50 size 3d plane without problems using the built in BEC on 5s lipos.

Theese Turnigy controllers does a very good job, I have been running two of the 80 amp. in a completely modifyed Proboat apache 24, for quite some time. the first controller died the third time, it was fully submerged in to the lake. But the second one has been running, even though it has been wet several times. So if you use it for boating, and it gets submerged or really wet, don't touch your controls. Just disconnect the power when you retreive the boat, dry out the controller, and if you are just as lucky as I have been, several times, it still works :) It is a great product at an amazing price. I use it together with a Graupner inline 500M BL motor, a surfacedrive with a 40mm prop. and 2 ZIPPY 2500mAh 7,4V in parallel. It draws around 70 amp/ peak 90amp, and even though it gets warm, it just don't give up, running it for 5 straight minutes. I will now try with one of the Turnigy 100amp OPTO models and try to watercool it. (why don't H.C. sell any watercooled ESC'S when they sell watercooled motors ??) Thank's for a great product.

Use it on my sebart sukhoi 50e. All I can say is wow! Awesome combo with the turnigy AerodriveXp SK Series 50-65 380Kv / 1820w and a 16 x 10e apc prop. Love it, and would not trade it for the world. Maindened today and plane flew flawlessly and esc stayed cool. Running a 6s 3700mah rhino 20c lipo and it works perfect with no external bec. buy the programming card for easy programing, you wont regret it.

I've tested this ESC in my custum made Pilatus Turbo Porter 1.82m wingspan. It ran on 16x 3600nimh on an AXI 4120/18 with an APC-E 14x10, current draw was 40A after 9min of flying he wasn't even warm... The fun part was to program the ESC, there isn't any easier way to do it with the card. It's a very good and easy ESC for this very low price...good job OEMRC and UH.
