what size ESC is best for this motor?
 TaterTotDW 200 points
This is the ESC, not the motor. Any motor that only draws 20A or less will be good for this ESC.

Anyone use this for HK250gt? How is performance?

Received my ESC last Tuesday (01/22/2013) and 5 days later had an opportunity to fire it up. First I connected it to my Turnigy Programming Box and even though the display on the box lit up, I couldn't get any setting info to show. Thinking maybe my box was too old and the firmware outdated, I went directly for a quick test with a 1450Kv motor, 3S Nanotech pack and my Hitec HFP-20 servo programmer (as a signal source). No beeps or any other signs of life came fourth from the 20A, dlux ESC. There was power present from the built-in SBEC but that's all. It's dead... And what's with the conflicting specification regarding the number of series LiPo cells it can handle? Is the number 4 or is it 6? Somebody has to get this info consistent. It's rather critical!

Here's a late update to the previous review of the ESC: Contacted HK CS to let them know the ESC wasn't working and they needed some "proof" of the failure. So I hooked all the electrical parts up and was getting ready to shoot a short video so the problem could be seen 'in action' as-it-were. Before I started the camera rolling the ESC started showing signs of life, the motor started spinning (under control of the servo tester) and then smoke and flames shot out of one end of the ESC. Whoops... I forwarded photos (and a short video) of the damage and after a few more emails I received a full refund credit. I'm tempted to try another one but I'd like to read some success stories first.
