Hobbyking Sbach 342 Gas 50cc 2210mm (ARF) (UK Warehouse)
This stunning looking Sbach 342 is a pure, mean, 3D machine! The superb Ultra-light construction, which features a sheeted spine fuselage for strength, keeps the flying weight minimal, couple this with a 50cc gas engine or Turnigy Rotomax 50cc equivalent brushless motor and you have unlimited vertical performance!
The wings and horizontal stabilizers are plug in for easy transport, the tailfeathers are not flat sheet but full aerofoil, the control surfaces are easily large enough for 3D maneouvers. Rudder is pull/pull and high quality ball linked control rods are used throughout for precision and reliability. The pre-applied covering is glossy and of a very high standard, the colour scheme is ideal for orientation and looks superb in the classic Sbach scheme. This is a high quality 3D model that is also an ideal everyday sport flyer when set up on low rates, either way, its a real performer and a real looker!
Features: Plug in wing & horizontal stabilizer Scale colour scheme pre-applied Alloy re-enforced under-carriage mount Ball link clevices with turnbuckle control rods Comprehensive hardware including fuel system Alloy anodised fuel dot included Servo extension arms included
Have got hold of an Evo 50cc engine for this beauty. Anyone got any experience of this engine or, even better, this engine in this model? Its a little heavier than likes of DLE55 so may be perfect from what people say about having to add a bit of weight up front to balance out correctly?
bought and built one for a friend using an older blue crank case brison 3.2 with canister, the plane had turnigy 5.0 2s with regulator and spektrum gear and tgy 9150's on all serfaces. i did the first flight and thought it was perfect with tank on cg and battery just in front of the tank. with the brion it would hover at around 1/3 power, knife edges need no coupling, flat spin was a dream, all round excellent plane to fly.
This best plane i ever flown. Had to put some lead up the front . The C.G in the manual is wrong. set the C.G as the pilot Sbach ( down load the Manual from pilot rc).Any one who turns there nose because of the price well more fool them.
Word of warning guys, lost the whole aircraft today to problems with an frsky receiver, there are no spares available from HK, the fuselage is repairable but the fibreglass parts are totalled. so now the whole aircraft is worthless.
Why wont HK stock spares????
This plane is actually a Pilot-RC ARF. All parts from Pilot-RC will fit. I crashed mine and bent the wing tube and replaced with Pilot parts. Good as new. I too am running a FrSky receiver and have no problems.
Well that's good to know, i was pretty certain that it was also, but I've actually just ordered a pilot rc kit to replace the one i bought from here so when it comes I'll be able to confirm this and repair the damaged one also.
I'm not really sure what happened with the receiver but frsky have been very good with support over this and they are testing it as we speak to confirm or deny that it is faulty. UK keep you posted :-)
Hi Heli_King, glad to be of assistance. I did a build on Flying Giants which sold about 10 planes. "HobbyKing's 50cc SBach 342 Review and Build" Someone else started a second one but fizzed out. Mine has 41 pages. Come and join the group. :-)Jim
According to the flying giant thread, World Models ToughLon is a good match. You can find it from Steve Webb models.

Ok received the model from the UK warehouse within two weeks however experienced some issues which included:
Crushed former's in the fuselage, damaged canopy and very poor graphic's on the cowl. Now of the damage was caused by transit just poor production. I must of had a dodgy one.
Apart from the 3 issues the model in general looks well constructed.
Contacted HK customer service who have been very helpful and agreed to replace all 3 components plus the rudder as it's a matched part to the fuselage. Unfortunately the parts are coming from Hong Kong so it could be a long wait. Also hoping I don't get hit to hard by customs.

Was delivered quickly from uk warehouse. Small damage to cowl but not worth complaining. Overall very happy with this, however a few negatives;1) pull pull system was a nightmare to set up where it exit in the back. 2)gluing the hinges took so long and messy 3)had to cut the hinges short on the elevator
APART from these was a pleasure to put together.

My 50cc Sbach arrived from UK warehouse within 3 working days of placing the order. Quality perfect as far as I can see so far, but I have just got to say WOW!!! I have 50cc and bigger models, but this is so much bigger and better than I expected. I am soooo glad I checked for stock every day for over a month to get this one! Will report back when I build it...

Just put three flights on my new Sbach and apart from a few niggling small problems, (wing tube needed sanding down to fit etc.) this is a very nice flying machine.
Hardly any trim alterations needed, I am delighted with it, for the money it's an awful lot of aeroplane and very well constructed.
