Specs: Number of Channels: 4 Operating Voltage Range: 3.5V~10V Operating Current: 60mA Operating Range: Full Range (>1.5km) Dimension: 40x22.5x6mm Weight: 5.8g
The Operating Voltage Range of this receiver is 3.5V~10V. What voltage is given to the servos from the receiver? Does the receiver do a downregulation? Can I connect 25 year old Robbe servos (voltage range of this servos is up to 6V) to it, if I put 10V into the receiver?
THX
The receiver does not do any voltage regulation. the receiver outputs what ever your battery delivers. The range 3.5 to 10 V allows you to connect different types of batts and chemistry, NiCd, NiM, LiFe, LiPos. I've been using old futaba FS-148 with 4.8 NiCd with no issues so far, so i Think it should not be an issue to connect your old Robbe servos as long as you put a 6V max batt.
Can I connect this receiver to Frsky lipo voltage sensor FLVS-01 without sensor hub ? If yes, into wich telemetry channels should it be plugged in ? (there is GND, AD2, TX and RX)
I was thinking that is the cable I have to use but I
had a bad feeling about the white wire that is not used
on one side. I didn't know thats how supposed to be or
there is a problem.
I think that I got another manual directly from the frsky site and it shows the pinout.
I also thought that I had used a premade cable between the hub and this Rx. I have a couple of different FrSky Rx's and a bunch of telemetry stuff, so I might have just been lucky and found the right cable for the job, in amongst it all!
Hope this helps.
I can't seem to find the other instruction sheet that I have got and I'm not near my model, so don't qoute me on this. I think that the 3 pin plug has the communications to the hub on two wires only, and the third wire hooks up to a voltage divider to measure up you flight battery (or whatever you want).
Hi Saied, in the photo above, you can see the 3 pin plug with the white housing, (beside the servo connectors). It comes with a cable that plugs between there and your sensor hub.
Hope this helps.
Friends, gostria of information bought this receiver and do not know how to connect the wire from the esc have to call lying or standing my esc and a red brick out 3 wires one red and one white one black as I turn
thank you
Hi Paulo, the diagram is shown on the cardboard wrapper, (also in the picture above). From the ESC to the Rx, BLACK goes to - (minus), RED goes to (plus), and the WHITE is the control wire, it goes to the channel you wish to use, (1-4). Hope this helps.
RX is bind with TX and working I am fling with it, but some how I could not get the telemetry accessories I listed to work, same thing with a D6FR, if any one has a link on how to get Frsky telemetry working please poste.
I have DJT with data screen, HUB, voltage sensors FBVS01 and FLVS-01. I could not get telemetry to work, module constantly beeping when I turn TX on. setup the voltage on the screen but it is not working, any help?
Sure you can. You just need to use some of the Tx modules from FrSky. There are models to be attached in the back of your transmitter, and the DIY module, that can be used to substitute the internal 2.4GHz module. I think that the external solution is better in your case, as it will preserve the original functionality of your radio.
HobbyKing do not list a FrSky DIY module that is FASST compatible as far as I am aware, only a plug in one which I am sure will be difficult to modify to fit unless you know of a way.
The FrSky DHT-U Telemetry System is easily adaptable in any Tx. It will make your Tx compatible with all FrSky ACCST RX. As a plus , it have an telemetry display.
User manual of this system only show the pinouts of Futaba/JR Tx with the plug in module bay. As I said before, my T7C (2.4 GHz) Tx has no plug in bay to connector to this system. Thanks for the suggestion .
This is a *really* good video explaining the cppm mode (which this receiver can output). Usually its just for copter people. There was an issue for this receiver when using cppm mode- you need to upgrade the firmware on the D4R-II because it sets the pulse width too wide (80mS instead of something like 20 for cppm mode). The upgrade fixes it. Video is a must to learn this. It wont affect normal airplane use- only when cppm is set.
Great video, thanks. Learned alot.
What are the TX and RX-pins on the telemetry connector for? And how do you connect these CPPM-channels to servos? And what does it mean that Channel 2 will output RSSI? Does it mean it will output a value for how good a connection you have? And if so, what device would you plug this info into? This is all very confusing :)
to clairify tho, even tho this is a 4ch RX when used with the DHT DIY kit and set to use CPPM a full 8 channels would be made availible right? plan to use this with a multiwii flight controller, looking for small and light weight.
Hi, I installed it today in my little drone and connected it with one cable in ppm to the naza controller. Testflight went fine but after about 6min the controls became erratic and the I lost contact (no more info on the telemetry screen). Luckily the drone landed in failsafe mode. Repeated the test and the same thing happened on second flight. After a good 5min I lost control. Some time after landing it binded again. Anyone an idea what it could be? Lost a bit of confidence in ppm naza..
problem seems to be binding between (older) DJT module with D4R-II, tried newer model DJT and a DFT and both work fine. Retried older DJT and same problem again.. Reflash did not help..
Hi, I would like to know if this RX is compatible with the FrSky DIY Non Telemetry Module. If its not is there a full range 4 channel that is compatible.
Thanks in Advance for any useful info
I wanted to use a couple of these with kk2 openaero2 boards for cppm mode, on er9x. and next month get a djt ($38 tx, rx) module and then i can read voltage on screen on er9x. i know what happens when you
ASS-U-ME something so, will this idea work ¿*
thanks
michael clyde
I just got my tricopter going with this rx in cppm with the HK kk2 board. the hk kk2 with standard firmware (latest version I had to update mine) uses ch 1 for cppm. I'm using the FrSky DIY module in an old myltiplex pizza box
Hope this helps
*CLDesigns... do you have a write-up or something you followed to set this up? I am thinking of upgrading my Turnigy 9X with the FrSky DHT-U & This reciever, but want to make sure i don't lose my 5th channel for auto-level on the KK2. Are you using ER9X?
Sorry I never get around to write ups
In the files tab gheck the instructions "If CH3 and CH4 are connected by a jumper, CH1 will output CPPM for CH1~CH8, and CH2 will output RSSI
(PWM)."
The jumper is supplied.
Frsky recomend only use up to 6ch in this mode even though HK compare this rx to the DR8-II
It does support 5ch but thats all I have used
Connect to input 1 - aileron on flight control board
I read that there is an internal A1 for receiver voltage. Is it correct because i can not succeed in reading this value with telemetry (tx and ex signal work fine). Can you help me?
You need to have a RX with telemetry display ... like the FLD-02 or DHT-U ... as well you need to configure the proper divider on the display for have a correct voltage value shown on the display.
Is the white plug used for connecting an external analogue signal on its own? ie can I use it to measure a battery voltage without using the sensor hub?
If so, which of the four pins is the signal pin?
Yes. For external voltage to A2 and RX pin for sensor hub.
You will need a FrSky voltage sensor, or build one yourself and connect to the right cable.
Which cable is a good question, because nothing is written in the manual.
but i think its the same as other FrSky cables:
red - 5V *
black - GND *
yellow - RX pin (for hub) *
white - A2 input (for external voltage sensor) *
Not as is. As monster said if put one of the FrSky modules for JR that are compatible with this receiver mentioned in the description it will. Changing to a FrSky module and receivers is a very highly recomended mod for the 9X.
It tells you which modules it's compatible with in the specs above. Quote: "Compatibility: Compatible with FrSky two-way telemetry modules: DFT, DJT, DHT, DHT-U "
Great little receiver. 4 channel output, and if the jumper is used on CH3&CH4 it does output a 8 channel PPM stream plus a RSSI voltage signal on channel 2. RSSI voltage goes from 3,16V (full signal) to 0,18V (no signal). Perfect for multi copters and for FPV copters. This telemetry receiver uses A1 for internal receiver voltage and has an external A2 input for your own voltage sensor.

I have compared it in flight with the D8R-II and they have the same range. The telemetry seems to work the same as well (I have only tested the beeps for range...) It is fast, small, light and the form factor is great. My favorite rx!
