Bumblebee Carbon Fiber Quadcopter Frame 550mm

The Bumblebee Carbon Fiber Quadcopter is a stylish and high quality quad frame perfect for aerial videography or for just flying around at your favorite local flying site.

This frame is constructed of beautifully finished genuine carbon fiber, the quality is top notch. It features folding arms and folding landing skids which makes it easy to transport and store. The removable dome top gives this quad personality and makes for a great way to hide your electronics giving it a very clean and tidy look.

Dear Quad-cop flying colleagues.. I am looking for the simplest (can avoid going through programing?) control board to use ans I am also expecting high quality giro performances (stab flight for videos). KK2 is the best ? What are your recommendation? Many thanks
 rahulvyas 325 points
If budget is not a big concern and you want a future proof controller go buy DJI Naza. if you cant kk2 is the best.
 Christophe 2 points
Thanks rahulvyas, does HK sell that? Cannot find it and not sure where to look for.
 rahulvyas 325 points
currently outta stock. check after a week or buy from local ebay seller who sells( more than double the price). But still buy it. (kk2.0 board) also you should buy the USB asp programmer to upload the new 1.5 code which is much much more stable than the default firmware. if you have enough funds buy Naza and you dont need anything.
 Christophe 2 points
Sorry I meant the "Naza DJI": HK sells that product? Thanks again
 rahulvyas 325 points
Nopes. You will have to buy from ebay or amazon or anyother local store. go to f o x t e c h f p v (dot) c o m and buy it from there. its a excellent place to buy quality stuff.
 Christophe 2 points
Woow, thanks for the tip, not the same price but closer to what I was looking for. Big thanks ! great advice/site

No problem bro, please award credit.

Hello rahulvyas! Thank you, you have also helped me. Do you have experience with the "MultiWii PRO Flight Controller" from HobbyKing? Can you compare that with the NAZA DJI system? Many thanks
 rahulvyas 325 points
Klaus, Thankyou! I havn't used multiwii pro, but I tell you- If you need RTF board with everything stable and perfect dont look at anything else than naza. the people who cant afford naza buy kk2. and if you want to program and tunePID settings buy a ardupilot( multiwii pro) board from Hk. You should buy Naza only.

G,day all does any body know if those mystery 20a blue series esc are good to use with a DJI Naza ? I'm replacing the stock ***blebee ones coz they are 500htz and after reading a couple of forums i sussed out they are no good with the Naza I have ordered a hobby-wing Skywalker Quattro 25Ax4-UBEC but i would like to get some mystery 20a for back up please let me know if you think they will bee good to go Cheers *)

Hey guys. I'm having problems with my ***blebee, or my HKMulti-Rotor Control Board V3.0... I'm set up as far as programming and wiring goes, the problem is when armed and ready to go only three motors work. It´*s not the bolts for sure. When I switch cables with another motor it´*s running and the other motor stops instead. I'm thinking that have got the cables wrong to the RX? (1-AIL, 2-ELE, 3-THR, 4-RUDD) Or the controller is broken somehow... What do you guys think? Thanks / Andy
 Norbert 8 points
Did you configure the ESCs? I dont think its the flight controller.

If I switch ESC´*s I get the same result. I tried calibrating the ESC. Thanks for the tip. I have ordered a kk2board and will try that instead. I also ordered the ESC programming card :)

what is a good transmitter and receiver for the ***blebee??
 Gary 2986 points
Any basic 4ch transmitter and receiver will do but it is nice to have a set with some programming features so I would take a look at the new Orange T-Six DSM2 Transmitter and something like the Orange R615 receiver to go with it.
 Juan 6 points
I am using Futaba T8FG with Orange Fasst and I don't have any problem work perfect

JFETT  6 points - 3/12/2013

International warehouse is now -20...yah i'm # -20 on the list....however almost every other HobbyKing warehouse EXCEPT the International one (that delivers to USA) has them IN STOCK. SO why doesn't HK send us those in stock ***blebee's? This isn't Rocket Science...

Hello guys. I´*m trying to config my BBblee but as a new comer lots of reading are waiting for me! Just to make me happy, please pro quad pilots, a BBblee must fly much more smooth and be efficient than a lady bird, isn´*t this correct? Is it really difficult to find correct pi set up, escs, motors and propellers? As an exception one guy had to change stock motors but all the others are ok, I suppose* Did anyone have to change motors too? Best regards
 Juan 6 points
I have use send motor, install esc 20a mystery blue serial with propeller 1038 they work perfect
 bob 1 points
flys really stable when setup correctly note make sure props are balenced and ecs are calibrated
JFETT  6 points - 2/22/2013

When is this coming back in stock? I wanted to build this one and do the camera mount for my Go Pro Hero 2 but I had to spring for the DJI Phantom in the mean time because this has been out of stock for over a month now. Still really want to build it as a second quad though, it looks so nice to fly. Any idea how close in size this is compared to the DJI Phantom. I am hoping the ***bleebee is bigger? I was planning on going with 30amp ESC's and the KK2 board.
 Coxzie 7 points
They are still in stock in the Netherlands warehouse. i have mine running tunigy ae 30amp esc on the included motors and a kk2 board, it flys great. 575mm from motor to motor

Hi there, I am a total noob to most of this, i am thinkkinng of buying this frame and stick a cam under it, i am very mpressed by7 tyhe videos of Ole Morten. under one of his vid he gives the detail on his all set up, which I am trying to follow more or less. I am wondering what would be a good board (available onn hobbyking), there is a whole bunch of them, and I am not sure which i should go for... any help greatly appreciated. thanks b.
 Coxzie 7 points
Hi bastien I personally would recommend the kk2 board with LCD. There is a lot of information about setting up on the Internet and is very easy to use I have one of these on my ***ble bird and its great
 bob 1 points
i started with kk2.0 for the few dollars more its worth it trust me dont forget to buy the cable that links board to pc if u decide to change version of boared software

hi thank you or replying. just thought by making the arms a bit longer it might make it a bit more stable? also im thinking of changing the motors because of having to use props made for this quad, would these (turnigy aerodrive d2830/11 1000kv) be a good replacement for the ones that came with it ?
 bob 1 points
no i have tried longer arms it is worse properally tuned it flys extremly stable with longer arms more vibration more wobble keep it stock tune pids tune pids
BlueSky22  1 points - 2/11/2013

WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO ACHIEVE ? THE ORIGINAL DESIGN OF EACH QUAD HAS ITS LIMITATIONS, YOU HAVE TO CHANGE SOMETHING ELS BEFORE YOU WOULD GET ANYWHERE. YOU WOULD NOT GAIN MUCH BECAUSE YOU WOULD NEXT BE LOOKING AT BIGGER MOTORS PROPS, ESC, JUST BUY A BIGGER MACHINE,
Coxzie  7 points - 2/11/2013

What would be the advantage of extending the arms on this quad? I already have 14mm carbon tubing and want to know if it will be worth while or not ?

Great kit that goes together easy and flies well the only thing you need to do is fit washer between the motors to motor mounts because the motor mounting bolts are 1mm too long that short the winding out in the motors. I fitted the KK2 board to this frame drilling four holes and used nylon rises.

God Quality Kit! Easy to put together though without any manual/instructions. Good value for money. Motors looks nice too. Tricky to install the flightcontrollerboard though, i had to make new holes.

i used to only scratch build multi rotors but no longer this kit is superb. Fitted up with my Wookong controller on its first flight photographed images for a daily newspaper.

This kit went together very well and is really nice quality. Does anyone know where i can get replacement props as they are different to ones i have seen before. They have a large diameter hole (6mm ish) and anti rotation inserts. Does HK carry spares as i could do with a additional battery tray to mount my GPS !
