hi im working on a build listed above is it possible to achieve between 1500 and 2000 rpm with this motor safely if so what pinion will i need. if not is there a motor you could recomend
 PHIL. 32 points
Hi Luke with a 13 tooth pinion you can get 2400rpm so it will be find if you use a lower the throttle curve or use a 12 tooth pinion aswell cheers Phil

Hi all I'm after some data on what tooth pinion wilh suit this motor for a HK500TT FBL heli, thanks
 PHIL. 32 points
12 tooth for normal sport flying and 13 and 14 tooth is more suited for hard 3d i use 13 tooth getting 6 mins fight with 6s 2650mah 40c zippy pack.

Hi Docspace the motor is on it own you will need to add bullet terminals and pinion i use 4mm bullets for this size motor and larger motors as well.

TOP motor, i use this a couple of rc boats, with a 120amp water cooled esc on 4s.
temp was around 40 deg celsius, and with a x4/38 prop was pulling 80kph on gps.

I use this motor in my T-Rex 500 clone through 60A ESC (replaced the HobbyMate 3650 1700Kv motor)! This dropped the temp on the ESC down to 40c from 70c and batteries down to 35c from 50c (no more puffing batteries)! With a 12T pinion it hovers nicely at 2200/2300 rpm on standard 162T gear. Flight time on 2450mA 6s battery is 8 minutes with 10/15 pcnt charge left (Sports flying only). Motor is only warm at 30/35c! This motor PURRS! Will buy another one for my next 500 build!!

Cannot fault this motor, currently running on 6 cells with a Plush 60A ESC in my HK600GT (yep, in a 600 not 500) it has plenty of power for hovering around and training moves
