Durafly Dynamic-S Performance V-Tail Glider 1560mm EPO (PNF) (AUS Warehouse)

Durafly Dynamic-S Performance V-Tail Glider 1560mm EPO (PNF) (AUS Warehouse)
Durafly Dynamic-S Performance V-Tail Glider 1560mm EPO (PNF) (AUS Warehouse)

The Dynamic-S has amazing performance, capable of a stunning climb rate and blisteringly fast passes, this fantastic looking, aerobatic model is a must have for the RC pilot!

Made from super tough EPO foam, not only will the Dynamic-S take some punishment, it will continue to look great no matter what you throw at it! The fuselage, wings, V-tail & all control surfaces have been re-enforced with carbon rod, the end result being a super stiff structure for excellent flight performance. The Dynamic-S is plug and fly, so all servo's are pre-installed, as is the ESC and powerful 300 watt outrunner motor. To make assembly even easier, no glue is required during the build, the wings and V-Tail are secured by substantial plates and screws which add to the rigidity and performance, the 2 pc removable wing also makes transportation easy. The wing tube is a square CF type that just won't flex, another example of the quality of this model, the kind of quality people are coming to expect from the Durafly range.

In terms of performance, this stylish model will keep you grinning all day, fully aerobatic and very fast, the Dynamic-S is the perfect grab and fly model for any field and any occasion. The ultra powerful motor and large prop combo mean that the Dynamic-S is just as happy flown slowly as it is making fast 'n' low passes, or performing aerobatics, the wide flight envelope means this model can provide fun, thrills and bang for Buck that few others can hope to match, every now and again, a model comes along that you NEED, the Dynamic-S is that model!

Features:
Triple Carbon Spar Main wing
Twin Carbon Spar Fuse
Carbon Spar elevator and V-Tail (4 carbon rods)
Big power 35mm Outrunner for fast climbs
Plastic mouldings for strong joins and crash resistance
High Quality Servo system
Super Ridgid EPO frame for high performance gliding

Does anyone knowhow to deactivate the brake on the ESC as it causes problems. Also this ESC powers up the motor when you turn off your Transmitter. Unpacked it and the wing tips already broken. It was not from transit as box is undamaged. First flight started out well needed a fair bit of aleron trim but besides that flew well and flew fast. I tried to slow it down gradually. This turned out to be a big mistake. Once slowed I must have activated the brake because itdroped the right side down sudenly and spiraled out of control unto the ground. Now it is broken.
 H-KING_SCOTT 5154 points
No brake on the ESC will make the stall worse, not better, this is not a thermal glider, it will tip stalled if pushed excessively.

OK thanks Scott. I have epoxy glued the nose back on (Will remember to keep the speed up on my next flight.) I also read the manual. It does give instructions on how to turn the brake on and off on page 8 or 9 (from memory). This page also refers to the glider as "Blaze" instead of Dynamic-S so to all those who said it is not a Blaze, you can't argue with the manual
 Pacman69 18 points
Does anyone know how best to recover from a tip stall for future reference? BTW after repair, it flighs real well. But I did keep the speed this time to ensure it did not end like my first flight..
 TriggerHappy 42 points
Recovery from Stall: 1: Reduce angle of Attack (i.e. lower the nose) 2: Simultaneously roll wings level using rudder (V-Tail) input (as aileron surface could still be stalled) and apply as much as full throttle. 3: Continue recovery and climb away if a dirt nap is immanent.
 Mathew 12 points
Just my 2 cents. Don't use Epoxy on it as the epoxy doesn't bond to the EPO, its only a surface physical bond. Epoxy has had reports of "delaminating" or de-bonding the first time stress is applied .Use a foam safe CA for better results

I wonder if the Australian warehouse shipped version of the dynamic s will avoid the damaged wing tips that have plagued the ones from the international warehouse. My friends one had some damage plus also a dead ESC. Tempted to get one myself but might wait for others to report on the condition they arrive in!
 Dominique 21 points
Damaged wing tips is normaly, **** ESC too. This model is sold under many names, always with the same defect and weak servo.
 HobbyKing_Admin 8862 points
Not correct.
Look carefully at the pictures, it is not the same as the blaze.
Tail is very different, as is the motor.
 Dominique 21 points
WoW! from Hype. 100% same model, with same defects. Your "Not correct" is not correct...
 HobbyKing_Admin 8862 points
Sorry Dominique, you're talking about the ShengTeng Blaze, which this is not.
For example, look at the tail plastics, ours extends up the fuse further for increased rigidity and there is CF tube in the elevator, which the Blaze/Hype etc. does not have.

They are different models.
 Dominique 21 points
Not correct... They are NOT different models. I have a WOW hype. A friend has the dynamic-S. Both are 100% identical. Incl. poor packaging. And in Germany it costs 91 €* ($ 120) including shipping! No extra duty, no extra taxes.
 Heliosphere 11 points
It's obvious that the models are at least extremely similar, even if they are not absolutely identical. And it's telling that all models seem to suffer from the same packaging problem, i.e. damaged wingtips. Are you denying that Hobby King admin? I love the look of this model but wouldn't be buying one until I hear that that issue is fixed. Hopefully the new zephyr doesn't have the same problem.
 Dominique 21 points
I must say, the damaged wingtips are not a problem. After a short while the wingtips are damaged anyway, because very thin.
 brendan1 68 points
Unnecessary damage in transit is a shame and you would hope all would be done to minimise the risk. I would be happy to buy one of these, even requiring upgrades, esc servos. Friend has ordered one, so I'll have a look at his first. Still keen to see the edf V70 so is my friend
 HobbyKing_Admin 8862 points
Sorry Dominique, if you really did have a friend with a Dynamic-S and you looked at the tail and motor you would see they're not the same. Even from these images you can see the additional carbon in the tail and larger plastics.
 Dominique 21 points
Enough is enough! I'm not stupid, and I'm not blind. Dynamic-S and WoW hype are the same. You can only buy hype products in central Europe. You do not have the wow hype. So do not tell me what there is to be different. hope that was clear enough!
 brendan1 68 points
Ok so there not chalk and cheese. The one difference I can detect is the 12x6.5 on the dynamic vs 10x6 on the other two. Perhaps this is why the esc is reported to get hot and even burn out. Inspected my friends today, some minor wing tip damage, will hopefully run a few tests with the emeter tomorrow before he flys
 brendan1 68 points
As below, 25amp at 11.36 volts giving 285 watts, 15 degee day, batt a turnigy 20C 2200. Airframe warped/twisted for friends maiden, gave him a little suprise, once flying straight came down with surfaces all over the place, not great out of the box. Calm day, no lift
 Pacman69 18 points
I purchased the Dynamic-S and also read the manual. On page 8 or 9 (from memory) the manual refers to the glider as "Blaze" instead of Dynamic-S so to all those who said it is not a Blaze, you can't argue with the manual

Hi folks, looking for a bit of advice on this. I've just received my dynamic in the post and as mentioned above the wing tips are all shrivelled up and creased. Is this common on these? Is there any fix? I've contacted customer support but heard nothing back. Cheers.

So very tempted to buy this, however I am also very keen on the new upcoming EDF looking variation decisions! o.O
 brendan1 68 points
Yes likewise. Any idea when the Zephyr V70 will come along?
 brendan1 68 points
Stock setup drew 25 amp at 11.36 volts producing 285 watts, ambient temp around 15 degrees, from a turnigy 2200 20C batt. Model required alot of aileron trim. Friends maIden was a little hairy till he straighten it out in the air
 stewjw 217 points
Any ideas on a replacement motor and folding prop for the Dynmaic-S or Blaze.
 brendan1 68 points
Theoretically I could give an answer as could anyone but with out flying the plane I'd rather not. Although my friend did offer for me to fly his. If I get a chance I will fly his and give it some thought. Consider cg weight of motor the performance you are looking for, what will fit and take it from there. When I saw his fly, I felt it could go harder, but it is one thing to watch and another to feel it behind the controls. Sorry no real answer here, good luck

Whats a good replacement prop for this bird? as I've notice my friend has broken a few already so I would like to seek out some spares.
 Lotus88 43 points
You can buy replacement parts for this bird from the international warehouse. I believe the replacement prop and spinner combo is about $7. www.link this helps.

got mine from HK warehouse china -went together good - maiden flight flew well after to trimming and adjusments to tranny it flies great. Very smooth and slick flight. I use 2100 battery and the rest of the gear is standard - viertical flight no problems and handles great. I have no problems recommending this one to my friends who have the need for speed

Very easy to put together, no glue at all. Tracks well, make sure you keep wiring clear of the esc as it gets very hot. It is not a hotliner and if you want to fly it like one then upgrade the esc and motor rather than complaining when you kill the stock ones. Vertical is very nice, on 2200mah 30c batteries it climbs well. You can't fit a 3s 2650mah battery in. I recommend as a second plane or as a windy day model. In a medium to strong breeze (30km/h plus) this plane becomes a lot more fun! It does land fast compared to a trainer but is easy to control. Flight time on 1300mah is 12min, 2200mah is 22-26min if you are climbing then gliding down. For climbs/high speed dives flying a 2200 is good for about 8min. Pre flight checks: Battery leads clear of esc. Nose cone glue is secure (will need attention after a while). Wings pushed together and meet square. Canopy latch is locked. Control horns are intact. You can JUST get a 2200mah battery plus spektrum tm1000 and ar8000 in the fuse.

Overall a good model, especially for the price. I love the super strong carbon reinforced wings, which allow for some great high G aerobatics. Handles the wind very well, and has plenty of power to get you high, very quickly. The build quality is also nice, everything is easily made neat. Found that the plane (being quite heavy) sinks quite quickly, doesnt glide as well as i had expected. I personally feel that it could be a bit faster. The CG i feel needs to be shifted a bit further closer to the leading edge, was flying a bit tail heavy at the suggested CG. All that being said, its a great model to fly, very entertaining.

Had about 20 flights so far. Very enjoyable, no speed machine and no long endurance glider. But good value for middle of the road gliding and mild aerobatices. I find it tip stalls very easily on slow turns, but flies well in wind for me. Be advised to replace the ESC as others have had their's go nuclear on them. I've put 35A, but still very warm, probably go to 45A. Good use of carbon fibre in fuselage and wings. My first v-tail, was easy to mix in rudder and elevator on my radio. I can throw glider in the back of the car without taking the wing off. A good second or third budget glider choice.

Never flown such bad model. No matter what I did I could balance it. Right wing heavy had to add counter weights just to get it to fly true. The motor wouldn't pull skin of custard not sure what all the hype was about.
