Designed especially for FPV (First Person View) camera flight! This is a true FPV plane thats easy to build and comes packed with common sense FPV must-haves such as rear mounted servos for the elevator and rudder to help counter balance the additional radio gear, rear servos can also be moved up and down the tails Carbon Fiber shaft to adjust CG. The narrow fuselage helps glide rates for longer flight times and yet it still has a large area for and aft of the CG to move the battery for better balancing when using heavy camera/Tx gear. Rear mounted 10inch pusher-prop diameter motor-mount keeps motor and esc away from the camera to reduce noise. EPP foam makes the plane very resistant to crashes and rough landings. The EPP-FPV glider has a twin CF-Spar 1.8m wingspan for higher, longer flight times with a wide range of camera equipment. The HobbyKing EPP-FPV has 4 channels (Ail, Rud, Elev, Thr) for agile performance and is reinforced with 2 CF spars on the main wing, a CF tail boom and CF elevator spar plus the ailerons have flat CF rods for stifness during fast turns or dives. The mian wing can be removed easily for transport.
The HobbyKing EPP-FPV can take any number of batteries however we recomend a 2600~4500mAh 3S pack for long flight times and good CG balance.
The performance on a 2 bladed verses a 3 bladed propeller is very little. A - 3 or 4 bladed propeller will give you more thrust, and you will sacrifice a little speed. The big advantage to using a multi blade is that you have more ground clearance less noise factor
Why does it specify a slow fly 10 x 6 prop? What is the significance of that? I would think you would want the option of flying faster if you needed to. I was also considering using a 3 blade prop on this, wouldn't lower rpm on the motor mean less vibration and more efficiency?
You are not kidding! August thru October and still no stock. Too bad I already ordered the recommended motor, speed control, and props from Hobby King's global warehouse. I should have waited for the plane to come into stock in the US first. Silly me, what was I thinking?
Hobby King needs to do two things: Either make this item available in US Warehouses or remove it from the US Warehouse availability. What is the problem with shifting stock from the Global Warehouse to the US Warehouse?
The recommended battery is "11.1V 3S 2200mah 20C", yet pic #8 shows a 5s 5000mah 45-90c battery. Anyone know if this actually flies on a 3s with a 1400kv motor? Or does it need the extra prop speed from the 5s to lift such a huge airframe?
I am running two nano-tech 3200 4s batterys with a slow fly prop with no problems, the prop gives me the thrust but lacks in the top end speed but for a heavy plane with all my fpv gear it works great. total my planes a little over 5 lbs. and the plane will fly with the 3s & 1400kv motor but i lack in power and thurst.
I ordered one on the 13th the same day i ordered a 3536 motor from China. China order already arrived but no sign of US order, No tracking info. I ordered a 3548 motor just in case the 3536 wasn't enough. Anyone using a 3548 or have any comparisons to the 3536?

This thing is a MONSTER!!
Turnigy L3015A-1000 Brushless Motor
70A esc /stand alone BEC
10x5 APC Prop
Full throttle will never over heat and tons of Power for
2X 2650mah 3s and Gopro (200g) w/5.8ghz FPV gear
25min of flying time and recording
Well I may say the box this came in is built like a tank! No danger of damage. I would guess that is 80pcnt of the shipping cost. Packed Supper! Plane assembled easily. Parts were in there respective zip pouch and easy to sort out. Great instructions and easy to follow. Now the cons - I have never used EPP Foam. You show something that appears to be CA in the instructions. Recommend the Glues to use. I figured that out also. The little thin servo wood mounts are not very strong - Broke one :) but fixed it. Other than that this plane kicks butt!! My kids love it and so do I. Super for FPVing!! Thanks HK!!!

OK this thing is built stout, and I am guessing that it would survive anything but a full power straight in impact. I loaded mine with 2 3s 4000 mAh lipos and all of my FPV gear plus two other small video cameras and a 3s 1300mAh lipo for my TX to see if the hype was true. It carries all that weight okay but sinks fast once the power is pulled in flight. You would want your landing area to be close when flying with all this weight. This is a delight to fly with just a 3s 2600 mAh lipo and my 900 Mh TX and camera. floats like a glider and with 1/4 will stay in the air for 20 mins or more. If you are looking to get into FPV don't waist your time on the smaller FPV planes this is the one to own and fly.

There are 2 thin pieces of carbon that go over the edge of the elevator to give it some stiffness, what a joke. They need one solid piece to go the distance for any kind of ragidity. The horn is in the middle of the elevator so when you move the control surface it moves higher in the middle and not much on the ends. I set it up on high rate to give it as much movement as i could and thought it would be ok. On the maiden it went down on launch and broke the carbon fiber tube. I didn't think it would be a big deal i would just order a new one and get back in the air. As it turns out HK does not sell any parts for this plane and they told me the plane is so low in cost that they won't ever carry any parts and that i should buy a new plane. What kind of attitude is that. I was really looking forward to flying this thing. I really liked the way this was set up for FPV and after seeing some videos on this i was hooked. I have placed 46 orders since Aughust of 2011 till now. This is the 4th time in the last 6 months i have had a problem getting any kind of service from HK. If they don't want to carry parts just say so that way people can make an informed decision. I think the plane is fine but since i will never be able to fly this i do not recomend this plane at all and hence the low crown rating.

I bought this on June 18th, and had it flying by the first weekend of July. I ordered it because it was in stock in the US Warehouse, and I had crashed my AXN Floater Jet pretty badly(I have since ordered a new AXN because they came in at the US warehouse). I didn't attach the elevator and rudder servos to the fuse shaft, I cut holes in the rudder and elevator and mounted them there. I ran a wire up the middle of the shaft and drilled a hole in the main fuse. You are going to need servo extensions for this thing either way. Its big. My biggest complaint is the smell. You read that right. It smells. I don't know what the deal is, but I am glad I keep it in the garage. I had a really rough landing, and not a scratch. Then I had a nice soft landing, and a quarter size chunk of the elevator(not the control surface) came off. Taped it on, but thought that was odd. I put a Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 3530-1340kv Brushless Outrunner Motor, and TURNIGY TRUST 45A SBEC Brushless Speed Controller in it(both ordered from the USA warehouse). I am wiring up a battery extension so I don't have to take the wing off to put the battery in. It needs two batteries, or a battery camera in it to keep it from not being too tail heavy(might have to do with the fact that I put two servos on the tail). My buddy has a contour roam HD camera we strapped to it, and it works pretty well.
