The SuperLight Edge 540EP is as the name suggest, very light!
Built from balsa and laser cut ply with a fiberglass cowl and wheel spats, it's very light weight and with the 15mm diameter Carbon Fiber support rod, very stiff. Combine this with the large control surfaces and you can understand how good it's going to perform at 3D. Landing struts are also Carbon Fiber and the hatch releases easily to allow fast access to battery and servos.
This is a fantastic 3D model thats easy to set up and work on at the field. If you are an experienced 3D pilot you will appreciate the agility, strength and lightness of this plane. It will perform any 3D maneuver you throw at it.

I have a Hacker a30-14L 800kv off my former Sebart katana s30 that in going to use .. Was planing on using 4s 2650mah with 12x7 cherry wood/ on a 3s 2650mah with a 13x6 cherry wood and 40a plush .. Would this be good setup for this bird ??
I have made a set of SFG side force generators for this model. Works a treat. Turned the plane from a good flyer into a great machine. easy to make. If anyone is interested let me know I'll take some pics and give you some easy to follow instructions. Knife edges all day with ease.
why is 1 Left hear for Last month or more ,still sits hear ,,. Who wants it . come on ,,its a good Model ..i can see good potential hear ,and good frame .i would strengthen it easy .
Can anyone please explain how they fitted the motor??? If I mount the recommended Turnigy 4240, the motor and prop adapter are 5 cm too far backwards... (under the hood). I tried to move the motor 5cm forward with some self made extenders, but then the actual motor mount hits the hood and I can not fix the hood in any decent way without removing a large area... Seems like the wooden motor mount in the documentation is much longer than the one they now ship. Anyway, I wonder how other people have solved this problem, so any tips, pictures are much appreciated!
I created an other set of extenders that also replace the original motor mount in order to save a little more space. Please look at the photo's I added as files to show what I've done (AdrenaCo Edge 6 and 7). It's a tight fit, but it works without having to alter the hood!
Thanks for your response, i have spare 5000mah 6s batteries, im looking for a sutible plane for this size system to go into. Do you have any sujestions as to which plane might be sutible that is availble on hobbyking. Thanks.
Got mine a few days ago, Build was not bad, i suggest googling the 3DHS 41" EDGE manual to help you with construction (there is a video construction series on YT as well) as the instructions they give you aren't helpful. Didn't use all the ball joints connections for the pull pull rudder, just crimped the cables while holding tension on it. My cg is around 78mm back from leading edge. Using a 2200mah 3s 25c, PLUSH 60A, TGY90s servos, and a G25 870kv motor with a 14x7 prop. Is making 508 watts at 44Amps. The green covering is not as nice as the picture but i still like the look. I put larger wheels on and got rid of the old axles and wheel pants. Replaced the axles with steel bolts. Maidened this morning and was delighted, flew great with little trim needed, can roll, hover and knife edge nicely. May put a video up soon talking about the construction. Have fun :)

Build quality wasn't too bad. But this package is let down by the lack of instructions. It takes more time to work out what everything in the package is for, than to put it together. Motor mount wasn't built straight so had to compensate to make the motor sit right. Apart from that a descent kit. All built but im yet to fly it, so hopefully she goes alright!

Great plane. Lack of destructions please, are you kidding. Here they are. Glue tail plane surfaces into fuse make sure they are straight before glue sets. Glue in all the bits that wobble and make plane go where you want it to go. Screw in servos(hard word wikipedia has a description and some pics for those that don't know) Fix the wobbly bit to the servos with the rod things from the box. And the wire bit to for the rudder(not the one for rc boats the plane type) Screw on the heavy metal thing with three wires coming out if it on the front is the best place i've found on this one. Attach the plastic or wooden spinie thing the your fingers or face should stay away from. Attach that other thing that gets hot and makes the metal thing go beep when you plug in a battery. Put the little box with the wire hanging out inside plane. Plug in battery and fly the usual way.

Very impressive plane only let down by the weak mounting setup for the carbon undercarriage legs. (hence the 4 star rating) One narrow strip of ply for a mounting base plate will never hold up. My gear tore off on the second landing which was not a very hard touch down. A bit annoying as it will have to be beefed up considerably & the incident also tore off a big section of the Oracote film from the bottom of the fuse. Apart from that it flew like it was on rails with stacks of power using an NTM 3548 900kv Prop drive swinging a 13 x 6.5 APC Prop on a 2200 4S Turnigy. A great sport plane which will also do all the 3d stuff with relative ease.

Cannot complain about this plane at all. Only started flying this year and this thing can be babied around by noobs or pushed by experienced flyers. Setup is Turnigy G25, Plush 55A ESC, 13X8 Turnigy beech wood prop and Corona 939 servos on ailerons and 929's on the elevator/rudder. Pull pull rudder was a bit fiddly as was first build attempt. Everything was square right out of the box. No modifications needed for motor mount, fits perfectly under the cowl.
CoG was set right under the carbon fibre wing spar.. flights great for me using the 2200maH battery, getting around 6-8 mins flight. In this configuration its 1240 grams on the button. Glides forever, will tool along at 1/3 throttle. If I totalled it tomorrow, I would buy another with my iphone there and then!
