In air racing terms, there were planes built for going fast, there where planes built for going really fast, then there was the Nemesis. Few can dispute the heart pounding speeds that this tiny single prop aircraft managed to achieve. The star of many shows, the original Nemesis won just about every race it was entered in for its 9 years on the Pylon racing circuit, thus etching its reputation in the hearts and minds of every pylon racer that ever took to the skies.
Exquisitely finished with quality covering film this balsa and ply wood built up model is ready to break records at your flying field. Included in the kit is a full set of top quality hardware, nothing to throw out and replace on this build. Suited to a .60size glow engine or equivalent EP system this model will turn heads and and become a proud conversation topic on the flight line at your local club.
Note: This is a glow engine model, some modelling experiance will be required for an EP conversion. A CD-Rom is included with the model that contains a detailed building guide for a glow setup.
When i see the shape of the cowl, sidemounting a .95 os 2-stroke comes to mind. Will the engine fit inside the cowl without cutting away large portions of it? Is this possible? Somebody tried this?
HK talks about 3-5 days to ship this product, has already been a month since I bought the product and so far nothing to send my product.
I'm disappointed with such neglect and incompetence on the part of HK.
I'm disappointed with HK, efetuei buying this airplane has 4 days, efetuei payment by credit card and walked message to support HK with data for confirmation of payment. Due to the delayed response of the HK support, so far has not responded, the product went out of stock now and do not know how they will proceed, if the product will be replaced or receive some sort of compensation from HK since pruduto ja was paid and due to the slowness support HK product just out of stock.
And woe HK, what you will do for me.

Oi Adriano, acho melhor usar o RCG 20cc. Coloquei um 20cc no meu modelo que e pra 90 glow e ficou muito bom. Sendo que acho melhor o jeito que fixa no aviao, o suporte do motor 20 cc e igual ao glow.

I bought one 1 month ago , and i must tell , that this airplane fly very well with engine .61FX. But than i change motor with .90 and i must tell , 3D flying is not a problem ! Very nice build for that price . I recomment Bluebird servos from HK , Very very strong and nicely working. Thanks HK !
Was just about to make another purchase but realized that I won't get it before Xmas. My last purchase took 9 days to arrive. A letter* NSW to Vic takes a day* two at the most, so why does a parcel take 9 days? Oh well this will be first purchase for 2013.
I have this plane flying well over 100 mph just search " Hobby King Nemesis radar gun well over 100 MPH " on you tube. this day I got a speed of 117 best run but that's not on this video Check it out and see what it can do.
CGG confirmation please ( Guess who has lost his little CD ) Factory is 120mm did I read ? but one post was a happier plane at 90mm. Apreciate feedback from those of you flying.
Hey guys, i've got this with an O.S .91 4-stroke and im not impressed with the speed the motor is providing. Im putting in the RCG 26cc from hk and i'm wondering if anyone else has done this, what are your thoughts?
My only thoughts are the weight difference of the engines, you are taking out an engine weighing 640g and putting in one weighing 1122g!!,you will need to shorten and strengthen the firewall and sort the C of G.
I put a 20cc rcgf on mine. It was too much engine, not from a power standpoint but from weight and balance. Plane needed a load of lead in the tail. And at that point the wing loading increased so much that it wasn't as nice in the air.
I'd recommend a 15cc rcgf and get it as light as possible, break in your engine well and start experimenting with props,
Hi. I have ordered a Nemesis .60 and it has just been shipped. I intended do use a OS .61 FX, but by these discussions it will be underpowered. Does somebody use .61 glow engine with this plane? In positive case, does it fly well?
personally I dis agree 4 stroke runs at slower rpm so you'll limit your speed best to go with a 91fx they are identical to the 61 fx in almost every way They only have a longer stroke to make it bigger capacity for the extra power So it will drive a bigger prop with a faster pitch at the same rpm as the 61 almos. No added weight and absolutely no problem with space it takes up the same space as the 61 Ive flown many 60 size panes in the past and I always used the 91 For a few extra bucks Why not You can always throttle down or use a slower prop
I've seen a couple people considering both 15 and 20'cc gas engines for this model... any experience or feedback to share?!
I'm considering installing the 20cc rcg. By my rough calculations the cubic wing loading should be 11.3 oz/ft. I think it should fly fairly well with a manageable glide slope.
Hello i install a 23cc EVO Beam 2 Model is a rocket fly amazing really fast and very light 2 i install 3 servos n the tail just to make sure the cg is OK and elevator trim =0 cg is perfect fly's really amazing

I bet the .91 2 stoker will work nicely in it. I have a 91 4 stroke in mine and it fits and flies fine.
I'm actually thinking of going up to a 120 sized four stroke.
Ive been flying it with a .91FS engine and a 14x6 prop. It's not a speed demon, just a nice sport flyer. Sorry don't have more specific info on an EP setup.
Having a good look at my girl and she has split the fuse open down the middle..
I dont like colour of the HK one.
You can see the pics on the HK crash forum
I'm using a 70mm (2.75) which leaves a little of the front flat of the cowling exposed. A 3" (76mm) spinner might fill it up a little nicer depending on how you position the cowling
Oso M ok well you will have to make a replacement. I have had a bit of luck reforming plastic bottles. If you have a good look around it will surprise you who thick some are. With a bit of work they do not look to bad. Better then nil. I hope this helps.
For those that have built and are flying this kit. What are your control throws (in MMs)? The manual says the elevator should have 37mm of throw, however the way the diagram is drawn it looks like it wants 37 mm on either side of the center line...? Am I reading this wrong, does it mean 37 total as in 18.5mm above and below the center line? The most throw I can get with stock servo horns is about 19mm on either side of the center line or about 38mm total throw.
Oso M I had to have a good look at this. In a few manuals it shows the number between two arrows. This is the actual size of movement. But in the case when the number is in a BOX it is total movement (BOTH SIDES). I know it seem stupid but I guess it is the way. So 18.5mm either side or 37mm total. Good QUESTION. I hope this helps
Hello Oso M, Sorry for the late answer. I'm still waiting component from HK to finish the assembly of my Nemesis. The control throws are effectively confusing. I have no idea of what I need to use in High/low rate. I had only programmed the max deflection in my remote. For the CG, I'm building around the specified value. My Nemesis will be electric powered and I'm locating the lipo pack to get a neutral setup at the manual value. Feel free to share your experience if you fly it. I will be very happy to make my maiden flight with proven setup. Regards
For anything other than 3D flying you should never use more than 30 degrees deflection due to the disruption of the airflow over the control surface reducing it's effectiveness. This advice was given to me by a retired aerodynamicist from BAE
hello Boostman, The air frame weight with the supplied hardware but no electronic and no engine mount is 2315g. the supplied motor mount weight is 114g.
I will do a full review soon. For know, I only unpackaged the kit and randomly check the part fits with other componants. for know this ARF kit looks very good and nicely designed.
I got my Nemesis on Saturday. The kit is incredibly well built and beautifully covered. the canopy and all the pieces have a tight, snug, and precise fit.
However the instruction manual (both the version uploaded to the files section and the version that comes on the CD with the kit)are both wrong. The kit did not come with hinges, so order your own. The tail wheel is also a little different than the one shown in the manual.
Also the instructions for the servos are inaccurate. I believe the rudder servo should be mounted up front under the canopy. The kit includes a large crescent servo horn and about 6 feet of piano wire, which I am going to use to control the rudder. I will mount two elevator servos in the tail. But I have not mounted those servos yet, still tinkering with it.
The wings mounted well with 10 hinges in each aileron. The servo locations and included shrouds worked well.
The other question I have is where does the exhaust go? It looks like the cowling covers the muffler, is there any opening in the cowling for the exhaust to escape.
I'm looking at the manual for this model (found under the files tab on this page). And the servo mounting looks a little weird.
It shows the rudder and elevator servos mounted in the fuselage near the tail, then on another page towards the end of the doc it shows them mounted inside the fuselage...?
What's up, anybody build this already...?
This model is planned be installing also a 15cc 4-stroke engine. ASP .91 weighs 640gr, and DLE 20cc gas engine weighs 650gr. I think that with only 10gr more You will not have any problem.
gas engine will gives u note more than 10000 RPM with 16x6 prop as this plane is a speedy one, u need to get a nitro engine as it will give arround 18000 RPM with 11 x * prop
Cdi unit can be moved back as far as possible to ease the CofG problem and the battery pack can be mounted in the tail no problem. I keep thinking about ordering one of these and fitting either a 15 or 20cc petrol as I don't bother with glow any more.
Very nice kit! Superb construction, fantastic covering.
The kit does not come with appropriate hinges, and the provided instructions are inaccurate.
I went with the four stroke 91 engine from ASP, and bluebird servos. The servos are GREAT, strong, fast, accurate, and quiet.
The kit is shockingly fast, flies true, and stalls gracefully.
I recomend this plane because it is a great plane. It is a very fast plane and you can do many stunts with it. I love the finish of this plane and I recomend buy this plane because you won't reget.

My Nemesis arrived today. Its already together and read to fly. I must say this plane is done very well. The covering is accumulate with not a tiny ripple. Very fast and easy to assemble. I have opted for the servo in the tail and omitted the pull pull idea. ( the slots are already there ) I have installed a AXI 4130/16 motor ( 385KV) I will test it tomorrow with 7s and a 16x10 prop. I have used that very thing on the 40 size zero and it pulled it along quit fast So I suspect with 7s, this will be very fast. I doubt I can get speeds nearly as fast as my formula 1 But this isn't a true racer in the rc world. I will experiment with 7s to 9s and prop it accordingly as i go To get the best speed. Hopeful tomorrow I can give a flight review There is TONS of space to put a big lipo just about anywhere to balance it well. Hobby King It looks like ya did very well with this one Exellent.!!!
