The Turnigy 2650mAh Transmitter pack fits snuggly into any Futaba or Jr radio which uses a 4x4 AA cell battery configuration (see image). It includes discharge plugs for both JR, Spektrum plus other radios. It's built with a low C-rate Long Life LiCo Formular which isn't like a standard LiPo. It retains voltage for months on end without need for a storage charge so you can store your radio and fly once a month and not have to worry about discharging or recharging your pack.
With a capacity of 2650mAh this lipoly replacement for your old NiCD or NiMH will last four to five times longer. Probably the best advantage with a lipoly transmitter battery is that it will give a true voltage reading from start to finish which means you can say goodbye to the days where you thought your Transmitter was fully charged at home, only to find the voltage drop off rapidly when at the field.
I've got one of these in my Futaba 10CGH and it works just fine BUT can someone point me in the direction of a LiPo (not LiFe) that will fit in the Futaba 8FG Super please..? Dimensions need to be approx 130mm x 35mm x 17mm..! Thanks
The voltage being 3s maybe too high but it will depend on what peak voltage the futaba handles. Its voltage range may well handle the 12.6v so read the manual for your TX. Its discharge rate is only 1c so the TX is never going to get a punch in the guts. Physical demensions are L100mm H30mm W25mm.
Can someone please point me in the direction of getting the instructions for this battery. I just bought it and want to know the ins and outs... also does the black (charge plug?) need an adapter to fit the Accutel 6 as i cant find a way to plug it to the main charge leads as well as the balance ports. Thanks guys http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/images/em_t humb.gif
Information describing the product is about all there is, charge plug, you'll need to make or buy an adapter. Apart from that a very good battey, oh if you have a Hitec radio, you should change the plug to get it to plug into the tx properly. Check out the reviews and discussions below, there is a lot of info here.
When it arrives, the instructions are pretty good, there will be (I hope) a similar plug to one of the plugs on the battery, there is also a balancing plug on the battery that will allow you to balance charge the cells to keep the voltages all together, either method will do, but happily the manual is pretty good.
use a lipo charger and balence charge it,you may need to get the right leads,if you dont have them already.set your tx low voltage alarm for 10.5v, once your down to this voltage,it will drop of really quick.
I have a question. I am in possession of a Fly Sky FS TH9X. Now I want this Turnigy 2650mAh 3S 1C LLF Tx pack as a power supply. Is that possible. I have an IMAX B6 charger, and if I want to upload the Turnigy give the error: connection break. What is the problem. Maybe someone has had the same problem. I hope for a response.
Hi Bert Yes this battery will fit in the FlySky TX you have... its the same as the Turnigy 9x I have. I also have a B6 charger and have no issue charging the Lipo. Make sure you have connected the Ballance leads correctly at both ends (charger and Lipo). Cheack you have connected the main charge leads (Red Black) correctly on both charger and lipo. make sure you balance charge and at a rate of only 2.6A or less. If this fails, check the voltage of the Lipo and make sure the cells are no less then 3v per cell
On your B6 you should have a few cables to charge with. 1. Charge lead Connection. Connect the Red Black cable to the charger then add the futaba (black servo looking connector)extension lead to it (deans connector). Connect the black Futaba connector from the battery that lead. 2. Ballence lead Connect the white conncet from the battery (4 wires) to the balance charging socket on the charger. 3. Select Charge mode an rate in the B6 make sure you select Lipo Balance Charge mode. The charge rate should be no more the 1C (2650mA) and 11.1v
Do use the other white connector on the battery (pair). You can cut this off and replace the connecter with the plug that come from the AA battery block in the TX.
I have this battery and also a B6 charger. You say that you connected the two white connectors into your balance ports on your charger, you should only connect the larger white connector to the balance port and use the charge lead (futaba or other small white connector)to the charge lead.
I disconnected the transmitter charge jack and removed the small white connector on the inside of the transmitter (where the original battery connects) and soldered a new JST female plug with short lea
Yes it fits Turnigy 9X well. My advice is consider buying LiFePO4 pack instead of this, cause this one will die, once you draw it below 8.5V ! It will work till you hit 8V, but will not accept charge afterwards.
if you discharge the battery to low, you can repair your battery choose nicad option on your charger and let it charge for 3 - 4 minutes this will bring the cell count back to where the charger can charge the lipo again. only do this through the power leads and low amps 1amp is best
And this is what I do to overcome the shortfalls of over discharging. I have monitored my pack readings and XT voltage reading and found that at 10.8v on the TX is about 11.45v on the pack. I dont go any lower than this. I usually get about 20 flights of 7mins plus leaving it on while changing batteries and doing 1-2hrs of setup at home.
Hi there All Well I got one of these 5 months ago was great at first but now all puffy and can not use it

A very good working Battery as per usual. Received mine well packed with a total voltage of 11.61v. Cells were within 0.004v. Fully charged (1.5amp) then discharge (500ma) to condition the battery. Ended up getting 2891mha at 10.30v on discharge and 2645mha back in. Fits well in my 9x TX and should last a very long time between charges.

Great value for money, came well balanced and within .025volt of each other. Also battery was in storage range for lipo, no more flat NMHi battery at flying field and will outlast others by several times over...very happy :)
Best mod I have done to my 9x (and have done most of them, just the er9x firmware to go) get at least 5 hours out of one charge and thats with the backlight always on.
I cut the small white connector off and put some heat shrink on the wires and taped the up out of the way. Replaced the black Futaba connector with a JST(male) and put the female lead soldered to the board in the TX
