Turnigy dlux 40A SBEC Brushless Speed Controller w/Data Logging (AUS Warehouse)

Turnigy dlux 40A SBEC Brushless Speed Controller w/Data Logging (AUS Warehouse)

Turnigy® dlux SBEC ESCs have set a new bench mark in quality and performance. Each ESC uses a twin PCB design separating the motor power supply, MCU and SBEC. This design allows for optimum component layout on each PCB and provides the ideal configuration for heat dissipation and thermal efficiency. Both PCBs are enclosed in a full aluminum heat sink casing to ensure maximum heat dispersion. All Turnigy dlux ESCs can be programmed via a programing card or by transmitter. Clear and easy to understand instructions are included.

*Now featuring data logging viewable when used with Turnigy dlux programming box.

Would this esc be suitable for a quad set up

I received one of these on Last Monday(22/10/12 from NSW) and it has NO Data Logging Feature.I have the Version 4.1 Programming Box! Has anyone been able to access any DLux data logging Features off any of the Aussie Purchased DLux ESC's? claiming to have the feature? maybe the "w/Data Logging" means "WITHOUT"

I can also confirm three of these 40amp ones purchased from au whouse do not have the data log option either. I have another 55amp one that does have this feature and can confirm it works using my progra, box.I also noticed on the 55amp one it has on the "label data log :yes" but these 40amp ones do not. I suspect from this either the 40amp ones don't have data log or some of the older models don't have it and these may be from that batch. Disappointing that HK mislabel many of there products this way.

Thanks johnny66, well that raises Hkings AU distributors integrity as I had purchased 2x 100dlux and 1x 40dlux from them (I particularly wanted that feature for my heli’*s) which at the time of purchase stated in the heading /with Data Logging Feature, but as AU was out of stock of the Dlux programming Box I could not check to see if they didn’*t have the feature (They do not show the other side of the ESC) I would have sent them back, but by the time it did stock the Box which Stated ‘*Now with Data logging Feature’* and as it was fresh new stock I expected to be able to use the data logging feature at last, but from what you have said, and I don’*t have the labeled feature on the flip side of the ESC, I have well and truly been “*done”*, so I now have 3 ESC’*s from them that are useless and are now beyond return date due to their slow restocking time of the programming box. Should have gone with Castle!

I need to relate a disturbing experience with this ESC. I am using it to power a E-flite Power 10 with 10 x 7 APC-E. 3S 2200mAH Turnigy Nano-Tech. The dlux 40A is fully exposed to the prop blast ie: No issues with cooling. With Amp meter attached max current is 32-33 Amps, after about 30 seconds the power drops out. After a rest of 2-3 second full power is again applied and I get the same results. Swapped out and fitted a Turnigy Plush 40A ESC the problem goes away and same combination performs as expected. Clearly the dlux 40A ESC is overheating and cutting out despite plenty of cooling and is an accident waiting to happen (Dead sticks straight after taking off Uggh). .

In fairness I have a second dlux 40A in an identical set up that hasn't shown these symptoms, however I am now tempted to ditch the dlux in this plane and replace it with a Plush.
