The Famous F4U Corsair in a totally new style! The HobbyKing F4U Corsair is a very neatly designed EPOparkflyer. This Plug-n-Fly R/C plane comes with a brushlessoutrunner, ESC and servos all pre-installed. All you need is a 2S battery and receiver. Build time is around 15 minutes and does not require glue. The tough EPO construction keeps the model bouncing back for more and the strong 2607 outrunner motor provides plenty of power on as little as a 1,000mAh 2S LiPo.
For 3s you will need to up grade the ESC 30amp and possible mod the battery area. You can try and 8x6 prop on 2s to get it moving faster. Hope this helps
There is a review in S&E mag on the FMS corsair that looks identical. the reviewer fitted the extra servo and got rudder working. He said it wasn't worth the hassle and made the plane more tail heavy requiring more weight in nose etc. otherwise he said this was exelent and tough plane. Another disadvantage I see to moving rudder is that it is very vulnerable and prone to bust if plane noses over on landing. best fly it and enjoy as it is.
Fanny thanks. It seems rudder are going the way of the DODO bird.

Very nice plane, easy to put together. Does require glue for the tail section which is included in the box. Takes 5 mins, no problem.
I changed the stock motor to a 2409-12T running a 8x4 apc prop and a zippy 1500mAh 3S battery. The battery is probably a bit large (heavy) than ideal but it just fits in the compartment. Crazy power with this combo, 1:1 thrust at about half throttle.
The only issue with the larger battery was the CG. It seemed close to the recommended 63mm from LE but my first flight was very hairy and almost uncontrollable. I think I had way too much throw on the surfaces also (recommend use expo at start until you get a feel for the controls and iron out CG issues). I cut away some foam in forward battery compartment so the batt went about 15-20cm further in. CG is now 4-5mm infront of 63mm recommended.
I was worried about the weight and thought I would have to keep the speed up high, but not so, flys around beautifully at 1/4 throttle, nice scale-like speed. Of course can also go ballistic with more throttle.
I think with 1000-1300mAh 3S it would be perfect, CG will probably be spot on, but 1500mAh still flies great even with the higher weight.

Received my Corsair three days after ordering, quick delivery seems to be the Hallmark of Oz.HK. Great little plane 15 minutes and ready to fly. Maidened with everything stock standard and very happy with the performance. Quite fast, good roll rate and very responsive to controls without being touchy. O k at slower speeds and glides nicely. I did bring the CG forward to 50mm from the leading edge. Great plane, would recommend.

Ordered on Friday from the Aus warehouse, arrived in Melbourne on Wednesday. Easy to put together, took 45 grams in the nose to balance with a Zippy 1000mah battery (nicely hidden under the removable cowl).
I set the control services to minimal throw for maiden flight, found them to be quite responsive, elevator very much so. First flight had a few steep climbs, dropped 10pcnt movement off elevator in the controller to smooth out the flights. 3 flights, 3 nice and easy landings and no damage (much better than some of my other maiden flights)..
Surprisingly quick little plane, but still very stable, and a real pleasure to fly. Definately recommend this plane.

This is a good plane but I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner. Packing is not all that good (rudder was broken on arrival but easily fixed).
It can be touchy and doesn't like slow speeds (heavy for its size) - make sure your CG is spot on.
