Wonder when they are going to get this back in stock at the usa warehouse?

Good flyer on 4s. ESC needs to be swapped if going 4s, but totally worthwile! Pretty underpowered on 3s, and belly lander is much easier than trying to get the wonky gear to track straight. Make sure you get the CG right, it is picky.******Metalguy

So what size esc did you go with? and battery size?
 metalguy 44 points
I have a 45 amp ESC in mine' and have been using everything from a 1000 to 1600 mah 4 s battery. Light times with these are under 5 minutes. Flies much better though. It pulls 36 amps max. on 4s.

Thanks for the infomation.

My motor is running in the wrong direction - how do I correct this?
 Michael 4 points
I would assume that you have to switch the positions on the red and black wires from the esc to the motor, atleast that is what I had to do when I wired one backwards on a home brew :) Hope this helps.

Had a long break while building and cant find the instructions now.......can any describe the CG location / distance from the leading edge?
 Wayne Dizi 12 points
Hi Albert, checked the manual and it is 412 mm from the front of the nose, not the wing leading edge as with other planes. I just received mine last week and it really looks like a great plane for the money! Just mock assembled and I can't wait to get it in the air! Good luck and keep me posted!
 Albert 1 points
Thanks Wayne, I guess then one more question should i balance at 412 with the plane upside down like a low wing war bird or with the plane right side up like a high wing trainer......guessing the latter?!?!
 Wayne Dizi 12 points
Hey Albert! I checked it both ways, and went with the right side up high wing trainer method. With a 3S 2200 LiPo, I had to push the battery back 1 1/4 in. to keep it a bit nose heavy. I maidened it this weekend and it is a remarkably steady plane for its size! It is under powered for sure, but it sure got a lot of looks at the field since it is not a common plane. I'll write a review in a moment...

Can a more powerful fan be used? Like a 70mm? Are there better 64mm fan units available for better power? ******Metalguy
 H-KING_SCOTT 5158 points
We have the alloy 64mm unit, 70mm would be a stretch for sure, never a nice job trying to squeeze larger fans into foamies.
 Wayne Dizi 12 points
Hi Scott. Will the 64mm alloy EDF assembly operate on a 3S set up?
fluffy11  132 points - 1/18/2012

can this plane be hand launched or does it have to taxied jason
 H-KING_SCOTT 5158 points
can be hand launched.

Old war, cold war? The aircraft was operational at the end of WW II. Several experienced German pilots reported that it was pleasant to fly while several other experienced German pilots and one test pilot died flying it. The USSR, France, Great Britain, and the USA test flew the jet after the war. Not having flown the model yet I'm apprehensive about attitude recognition during flight but when I do I put the video here.

ITS NOT A BAD FLYER, JUST PAY ATTENTION AND KEEP IT CLOSE TILL YOU ARE COMFORTABLE. I FLY MINE AT HALF THROTTLE AND A FEW HIGH SPEED PASSES. WATCH THE ROLL RATE AND BANKING IN THE TURNS ANYMORE THAT 60 DEGREES AND IT WANTS TO TURN OVER. GOOD LUCK.

A great plane with all the parts you need to complete it... but for me... I got two right wings. No big deal since I can make my own. I'll do an HE-162D version. Love it.

Unique subject matter - kit arrived in great shape: slightly underpowered and requires CG adjustments as the measurement in the manual makes it slightly tail heavy.

Plane arrived quickly. I used foam safe CA and had it together in 20 minutes. All the packaging was clearly marked as to what it was for which took alot of guesswork out of it. The CG measurement was slightly off but I adjusted it to what I like which is slightly nose heavy not much just a pinch. I used an orange rx and put an orange rx flight stabilizer in it. It flew great the stabilizer works better than I thought. Handled awesome. I would recommend that you put the stabilizer in it and make sure its properly installed so you dont have any big problems.
