HI ppl,
anyone knows the wing area on this bird? at list the chord? The Prop size? In some videos it seems to be a litle windy and no problems in flying, is that true? Anyone makes an idea of stall speed in normal leveled flight (near 10kmh or higher)? Distance on runway for take off?
Thanks
   Robachan (78%)
Prop length is 4.2in (107mm), pitch ?? (guess 3). Wing chord 77mm at center, about 50mm at edge. Doesn't really stall, but glides down quickly (see my video here, at 4:10, I cut throttle and glide for about 10 seconds). Flew it several times in 4m/s (9mph) winds last Sunday and it handles it amazingly well if you fly high enough and your reactions are quick enough. You have to use more throttle to keep up speed to fight the wind, so I don't recommend it in over 30 degrees C temperatures like I did. The foam was noticeably warm around the motor when I picked it up. With this such small size wheels, take-offs depend on the resistance of the runway. Very smooth surface should be very short. I was surprised how long it took, however, off a baseball field with tiny gravel. Hand launch is just a very gentle toss (see video).

I've bent the shaft on mine. Can anyone recommend a replacement motor? Do I need an ESC to change that? Thanks.
   Robachan (78%)
As the description states, it's a N50 motor, a common brushed motor. Just replacing the motor with another of the same should be fine, no need for a new esc (which would be impossible anyway since it's all on one board with the Rx and servos too).

I there ppl, i did not try it, but i think you can make a prety good upgrade to brushless motor with Hobbyking item : BruCon and a suitable micro esc and light brushless motor (was thinking HK 2grams brushless D1000-7700, but it's a ONLY 1S)it states 36grams thrust but this more than enough for a high wing trainer like this plane.
Anyone try to use a 350mah 20C 1S on this baby?
If it works (RX and Servos) with 1S then you can proceed with the sugested tunning: BruCon HK-XP3A 3A 0,7gr esc D1000-7700 2gr brushless motor 350mah 20C 1S.
Have a good time.
   Robachan (78%)
I think the 2g motor would be too small. It's best for up to 40g planes. This is 65g. I would recommend the hextronik 5g, with same basic prop size and you could use the same stock battery.

Maybe somebody can report the size of the included LiPo? I have some Zippy 2S 180mAh lying around that might fit this little bird.

Wireman. the battery Weight: 13g
Size: 37x21x11mm the specs can be found in the Replacement Parts section.

LuKangSung (72%)
Is the motor brushed or brushless?
   Robachan (78%)
N50 motor is a standard brushed motor. Should be enough for this plane, but lifespan can be a little short on these, many say around 50 flights, give or take.

   LuKangSung (72%)
Does it come with a separate brushed controller or is the esc on the receiver board? How much does the receiver weigh? Thank you
   Robachan (78%)
All in one, like their helis - Rx, esc, 2 servos.

The 600mah charger seems a bit much for the 180mah lipo, unless the lipo has a 3c or 4c charge rating,
   Jason5001 (5%)
Small lipo can charge at 5-10C without problems.
It's larger lipo's that struggle.

I allready own the S-Pro FP II RTF Helicopter Kit which comes with exactly the same 2,4 GHz Transmitter. I'm not 100% sure, but they should be interchangeable with this model, since there are no mixers active, only linear 1:1 control. If this is true it would be very nice to offer the plane without the Transmitter. Not only to to save a few bucks on the kit itself but to get below the 1000g shipping limit which becomes pretty expensive for me (USD 35 shipping to germany).
   Robachan (78%)
They have the BNF version available here, but it will NOT bind with the heli transmitters. I tried 2 solo pro TXs with 2 Cessnas and an Xtra-300. The 2 planes WILL bind with each others' TXs however.

Before anyone complains about the price, put it in your cart or wishlist while logged in to see the actual price, less than half of listed. Wow!! There are several videos of this on YouTube already. Just search for Nine Eagles Cessna. Seems like a nice flyer, and being EPP, it should be bulletproof. The pop-off prop is a really nice touch, too. Transmitter changes from Mode1 to Mode2 in about 1 minute with 2 screws. I'm grabbing a couple, one for me and one for my girl. The 2.4Ghz Tx allows for simultaneous flight.
   Ierwin (48%)
this seems a lot like a bug to me. The item was ~90$ when I wasnt logged in, after I had logged in the price on the page shows ~120$ and only after putting it in the cart the low price I would expect for platinum customer shows. Same thing for example with the S-Pro FP II RTF Helicopter Kit.
