Hello and used this speed control sensorless brushless motor hobby wing 5.5, and damage the cooling fan, and buy two thought that one came defective but installing the same thing happened the other, use a 2-cell battery 5000 milliamperes . I can esplicar what happened.

I've just bought two new HK-60A ESCs and mounted on the car to drive turnigy 1650 motors. At first, everything has worked fine. The ESCs could have run the motors succcesfully. After a driving time, charge of the transmitter has been finished. After changing batteries of the transmitter, the ESCs have not run again. One of the ESC is continously beeping and there is no response from the other one, even any beep. In the manual, the reason of the continous beeping is explained as throttle signal loss. I've checked Tx/Rx combo on another ESC and motor combo (HK-100A Turnigy 2400), Tx/Rx combo and also throttle signal works. Any advice? are the ESCs failed? There seems no firing or failed electronic components on the ESCs.

will this work with gelled batteries building a sub looking to put 2 gell celled batteries paralleled at 12 volts
 Dylan 8 points
no only Lithium and Ni-~~
 diy-pro 287 points
It would work just fine just make sure you dont exceed the amp rating and check temps. Cheers. PS Voltage is voltage. Stay within the specs and itll work. You could use potatoes in series granted they had a disharge rate high enough for the application at hand.

Would like to know if this works with a Traxxas TQi 2.4 receiver?I read a post from someone that it's not working with his? thanks
 kmnss 26 points
It should work with a TRX TQi. Watch how you insert the plug to the receiver and make sure they use the same connectors. Most have been standardized since the mid 1990's.

Hi to All! How can I upgrade this ESC to waterproof/water-resist ESC? Thank You.
 eugenesco 68 points
if you need a waterproof esc then buy one or just stay out of the water. these are not meant to get wet, don't waste your money

How many turns the motor be???HELP ME!!!
 n_costelloe 2 points
It's not about turns, it's about how many amps the motor pulls. Hobbyking tells you the max current(A) for its motors. If that's less than the esc you're good to go...
100ns  20 points - 3/1/2013

I suggest to protect connections where wires enter the esc, under plate where soldering is! Cover it with anything like electrical tape, plastidip, hot glue, anything is beter than opened like it is. I have burned my before usage, because of that unprotected part of esc:(! I believe that is still god esc for like 35A max load, should last long that way:)
 100ns 20 points
Lol, this up is under wrong esc, but this one is similar only 60A, i was referring to 45A version. But you could protect this one also the same way, since they are similar construction!
christopher  1 points - 2/16/2013

guys just got this and the esc all powers up beeps like it ready to use but no motion and the red light keeps flashing any ideas ?
 christopher 1 points
just worked it out i set the cut off at 32.0 and my lipo was at 38.2 which funny why the esc would think to cut off at that voltage so i set to 0.00 cut off meaning no cut off and it works fine think its a software maybe
Cory  1 points - 2/14/2013

I would unplug bat, go thru everything and reseat all ribbons and double check you have everything correct. Could be one of those doh... moments. Good luck Pat sure you'll figure it out.

I'm trying to get this ESC to work on a Traxxas Stampede with the stock receiver, TQi radio and 8.4V 7 cell NIMH. Can't get it to run. Either not detecting throttle input correctly or it is detecting the NIMH as a 3 cell lipo and giving low voltage shutdown. I can't seem to work through the problem in the programming. Suggestions anyone??? Thanks!

Just wondering can this be used on the turnigy monster Beatle ??
 JohnCS 57 points
Yes it can. I'm using one at the moment along with the HK 4370kv 2884 size motor and a 17t pinion. It is a bit bigger than I needed(in terms of amps) for the motor, but I like to have a bit of overhead when it comes to the ESC.
 davo94 1 points
With that setup is there a mass improvement in performance?
 JohnCS 57 points
Not really a speed improvement over the stock 4800kv/15t compared to the 4370kv/17t setup since the motor has a lower kv rating, but the 17t pinion evens things out again so speed wise it's about the same. The stock motor is a 2040 size.....thing that overheats really, really quickly and because of the meager size it doesn't really have any torque compared to the 2848 motor (2884 is a typo in previous response). The 2848 motor also doesn't get as warm as the stock setup. Ran a couple of 3s 2200mAh packs through it and was only warm to the touch. The 2040 stock motor would have melted 10 mins in :P TL*DR - speed is about the same but there's GALLONS of extra torque now.

I bought this ESC to my HSP Tyrannosaurus (self-made electric conv). Ordered a 3000kv sensorless motor to it. Everything was connected right, tryed it on 3S, ESC was factory default - car runed but with constant cogging. Sometimes it bursted with full throttle for 3-4 seconds and then stopped. And then again - sometimes the car just don't move when I hit throttle. I thought it was the ESC so I ordered the HK programming card. Changed few settings (timing to 1 and 4, startup to 0%, and other minor adjustments) and runed it today in -15C (about 5F) snow. Same thing - lot of cogging and throttle responds badly. // I tryed a different Tx/Rx and got the same problem. Tryed different battery - same thing. I'm using 21T pinion. Maybe it's the motor which I ordered from ebay?? Help.. can anyone give me advice. :(
 jcl6601 1 points
I'm having the issues with it. caused a pretty bad crash almost broke my car.
 100ns 20 points
Maybe to cold batteries? I newer store batteries in cold, they can be easy damaged if used very cold. You probably have serious voltage drops and maybe you could solve them by putting voltage protector(capacitor) to your rx? Or maybe it is just bad BEC inside your ESC. If so then this is the easiest way to solve it(you can test with external bec)

What programmator can be used for this regulator.
 chris 132 points
if you choose the global tab and go down to ESC and car ESC thes a programme card for the quick series that works great with this 60amp ESC
 chris 132 points
www.link copy and paste this into your addrres bar or just add this esc to your cart and it will also show you the programme card to add its just under your order whne this esc has been added to cart

Can one use 18650( 2.8A 3.7v each) batteries that one use in flashlights, got allot of them.
 Gary 2959 points
Noreason at all why you cannot use them, you can join 2/3 or 4 together depending on your motor and gearing.

3 thumbs up!
Nice and cheap reversible brushless ESC. I'll use it in rc air boat with Turnigy 35-36 1300kV motor. With 3S lipo is masive power, on 4S is insane. ESC kept cool on about 35A continous. Also it's easy to program with programming card.

Only fan is really noisy.

I ordered two of these ESC's at once. Maybe it was a bad batch but both of them do not work. One did not work at all from the start and the other worked for 3 minutes then started spitting and sputtering and now the car will not even move. At first I thought it was the motor and battery but when I changed them it did the same thing. Also once I changed to a different ESC it worked fine.
Sadly now I have to ship them back to China.
