I am waiting for this bird is in the mail. Does anyone have experience with the power setup for the HK-600GT. I have the Align 100A ESC and the Turnigy 600H Typhoon(max 80A). Included in set is a 10 teeth 5mm pinion V.S. a 14 teeth in the original T-Rex600 ESP set. Is Turnigy T600 (1100kv) with a 15 teeth 6mm pinion better with my ESC?

The Align original setup has a 600M Brushless Motor(1220KV) with 14 (15 opt.) pinion. I am not much into measuring headspeed, but I tune the throttlecurve to what sounds right. I will assembly the parts I have, and consider the 600M with 14t. Thanks for answering.

Well, you have asked a question that you should rely know. I think that you should do a lot of research on what is needed as far as torque for the control of the blades instead of getting the fastest servo's. A good smooth movement servo is also very important, that is why there are air and surface types of servo's, of co**** that does not always stand true, but for heli's only use air servo's and don't get ones that have bad reviews on here. Remember that if even one servo fails your 600~2000usd is going to be headed towards the earth at a very fast speed, and will break on impact! So don't skimp on servo's is the best advise for anyone planing on this bird! That being said there are good cheap servo's on this site that work very well, just read the reviews and learn from others mistakes!!!! They are trying to save you the money and heartache from getting a bad item, not bashing cheap items!

The HK and EXI helicopter have identical parts. I will get a HK600, but since the EXI600 has got a new rotorhead, I will wait for it to appear at the HK600. Does anyone have an idea about how long it will take? See inserted file.

There is not a new type of head it is just machined different is all, not better. The exi600 mite be more money also, once again not better. I have align and HK-heli's and copterx birds and have had exi birds to, the one truth of all the clones are that there are parts that need to be replaced out of the box, like the main and tail shafts and some clone bearings just don't hold up, but my best advise would be to you and others is to get this bird not the exi because you will want to change out the head parts ether way!

Thank you for good answer. It is true, the EXI450 V2 bearings are ***r quality. One had a mix arm bolt missing and the other was way out of balance somehow. I am trying to sell the unused last two EXI450 V2 heads. I am very pleased with the KH450 V2 replacement head with 4mm feathershaft. You are right, they look identical but are very different quality wise.

Hi, does any one know if you can fit in two Turnigy 3000mAh 20C (HK500GT) batteries wired in parallel for a 6S 6000mAh set-up? Does the balance of the heli work out o.k. like this?

yes no problem with balancing but 2 batteries 3 s 3000 mha parallel will give you 6000 mha but 3 s.
If you want 6 s connect in series but then you will have 3000 mah.
The more weigth you can add without a problem is 5000 25 c 6 s.

Just wondering if 2 of these batteries would fit under the 600 canopy and balance o.k. to save me buying a single 6S 5000mAh battery to fly.

Its a tight fit fastening the canopy. I use 3Ah single pack 6S, and they must be positioned with care to get the canopy fastened. Fitting 2 2.2 Ah in serial is also a tight fit. I have read that there exists a modified frame allowing more battery space. Weight is about the same. I have ordered a 2.65 Ah 6S that I hope wil be better for the HK500.

for the money it is bound to be a problem or two pr three but HK does watch these forums and correct all problems noted by numerous people the only problem is HK distributes to the world on a very large scale and they must "pre-order" all the parts to put together there helicopter and it is hard to change a part is production quickly i am sure they are addressing the issue but will not lose money to change it... for these prices i dont blame them, until then replace the few questionable parts with brand name

The pins sticking down from the head are too short, and if you set up the swash for full negative pitch and use it, the washout base will fall off and you will crash. You can heat the head with a torch and make a tool to push the pins down to the correct length, but I'd rather not.

To correct this problem, just rise the shaft collar under the swash plate accordingly, so the pins cannot come out from washout base. yes, this will limit the negative pitch by a bit which is OK. I did the same fix for my 500. Actually, this is not a fix, it is the proper adjustment of all components.

*edk187: so you never fly inverted? Becuse you only get -4 pitch. You must correct the pins also for autorotation. The overall quality is really bad and dnagerous to fly with. Threats are faulty. So headscrews will not kepp well. Bearings are mostly faulty. Beware of your life, folks. I son't believ anybody has acutally flonw it as it arrives from theshop. It's dangerous. Besides, main gear doen't work and will alomst block the rear gear.

Well here is close to what I wrote: (I have a Trex 600 to compare it to) 1. VERY impressed with packaging. 2. Nice that the head/fuselage was already assembled. Saves a lot of time. Some people like to the build from scratch. 3. Parts are good quality, but a little rough around the edges. CF has small flaws, CNC parts edges are not finished smooth in some areas. 4. Locktight was used on most parts. Even the Trex 600 kit did not have lock tight on a lot of parts. 5. Nice to have 3 bearing blocks like Trex earlier version. Head wobbles on 600ESP. 6. Canopy is plastic not FG. 7. Tail rotor control arm was broken in half (plastic). Ordered a one ($4). 8. Tail slider binds. Ordered a new shaft and slider replacement. 9 Overall, very impressed for the price!! I would definately buy again!
Don*t hesitate. Great machine.

550mm will be minimum but not recommendet as this heli is relatively heavy. It's 50 class so 600 - 620mm is optimum.

Wow , its actualy 360$ less then the Align CF (Carbon fiber) Version . HK Bravo!!! Good move to do this model , after seeing the succes the EXI models have. Making a 600 is to make Quality accessible. In the name of my fellow hobbyist I Thank You HKing .

I do not think you would want to run 500mm blades on a 50 size machine especially a beefy one like the 600. To get sufficient lift you would need to increase head speed significantly, something I personally would approach with great trepidation on a model of this scale.

Moin moin. Danke

price too high for Italy $ 139. is the product less attractive to HK this year. sold only if align mechanics probably cost less the cost of just 600 seconds I would be HK $ 120 HK ... I saw that recently increased the prices compared to 2009. perhaps should not buy from HK as before ...

I like TT because it offers better tail control than a belt (Requiring good servo/gyro) and that you dont have to tension the belt as it stretches with age. The only downside I see is the fact that only a very minor ground hit with the blades will shatter the gears connecting the TT.

well this is a big argument, I like belt myself, there are /- on both sides but as far as performance there is NO and I mean no difference that anyone person can come up with for ether. There is always going to be both versions and it comes down to personal choice and what works for you!

This is the older version of the trex600 not the new esp version, but there is a T/T tail set sold buy align at this time for a avg. price of $110usd. this version of the trex600 in my opinion is the better one, the newer esp has not been a big step forward, there are some that will disagree, but you can't go wrong with this bird!
