Anyway to have one shipped to the US. I am really wanting one... But site says they cannot ship to the US. Seems like they would just charge more for the shipping?
   Tryin2fly (61%)
Hey John
FYI I found one in the US but it does not come with any electrics AND its price to high I think(compared to HK) anyway its from(Nitroplanes)funny how it cant be shipped to you or me but can be shipped to a business?
   Ionshock (49%)
Businesses use their logistics arragements which I suppose would be cost ineffective for a company like HK to provide services with. It would probably cost either HK or, more likely, the end user too much.

Why hasn't any one had a review on this plane. This is the second batch that has been out. The first batch was at least a month ago, surely someone has put theirs together and made the madien. The madien flight on any plane gives you pros and cons. Why is there such a secret on this plane. Its no better than any other and there is plenty of reviews on every other plane.Personally I would think this plane would be a little boring, I have never seen any passanger jet do a alerion roll, loop, inverted, snap roll etc. Take of and land would be the high light and you would need a cement runway for an exciting landing and approch. Just my thoughts.....
   Philbel (32%)
People who buy this plane do not expect 3D performance... Personnaly, I really enjoy the looks of a big passenger airplane taking off and landing smoothly. I have the Robbe Dash-8 and it always makes a big impression at the field. This airbus will be my first EDF airplane. At this price ($325 Canadian, shipment included) it really seems a bargain. Bu I agree with Flyfly, there are 30 or 40 people out there who bought the Airbus and still no news of their flying qualities... Come on guys, tell us what you think of this bird.
   jetspeeds (81%)
Yes taking of and landing smoothly would be real nice, if you had a hard runway surface. In between take off and landing, would be scale flying, which would be very gentle turns, slow decents and grandual climbs. For the money you pay, you could get a large size ducted fan jet that would be far more exciting, with rolls, fast turns, inverted, vertical climbs, fast climbs/decents etc.

But it would look nice to see it fly.. It should come with flashing wing lights.

Jason,

The J-10 from GWS comes with the fuse in 4 pieces. 2 front and 2 rear. Please get the maufacturer to do that, then you can reduce the size. Also please reduce the weight to 6kg so that we in Malaysia can buy it!
   chewy (33%)
It gets worse! Now instead of 6kg, the max seems to have been reduced to 5kg! Arrrgh!

HK,Sure would be nice to have a few of these stocked in the U.S.A house it is very nice looking plane it is VERY upsetting not to be able to buy one !!!
   pezzer2003 (75%)
It would be good if they stocked them at all?
   Tryin2fly (61%)
pezzer2003,
Yeah your right about that along w/all the other stuff that we have been waiting on! But you know for the savings that we get I guess I shouldn't complain I just get tired of waiting, It seems like when its in stock Iam broke,or I have the cash and its out of stock ! Just can't win *)
   pezzer2003 (75%)
Ha Ha.. I agree with you 100%, I have the same issue with getting recivers from here. But I can't wait to get this plane, and get her up in the air... I am building a C-17 running 4x64mm EDF's and this will help me with that build..

I started a thread in the forums (Airplanes -> A380 Airbus) when it was first listed a few weeks back about this (what appears a) great Airliner. Anyone who gets one these planes, please head over there on fill us in what you think of it, what MODS can be done with it/and etc. -Bill!
   pezzer2003 (75%)
Will do when they become avaliable and HK send's me mine!!! :)
   JackChen (62%)
The problem is, Bill, that the package is larger than normal and therefore prohibits most of us from buying it. I have asked above if it's possible for us to order and get a courier service like DHL to collect at their premise.

JackChen (62%)
Can this be shipped to Singapore? I see that the EMS postage table stops at 6kg.
   yunhe (50%)
yes please reduce the weight.
i hope it can be ship to Singapore as well.
   JackChen (62%)
will be great if a lighting system is built-in. I think it will look great when you power it up and the beacons start flashing, and you can toggle the lights with a switch.
   JackChen (62%)
Actually, if postal options are not suitable. Can HobbyKing partner with a courier service for special item like this? (just asking) or allow buyers to get their own forwarder to collect from HobbyKing's premises. Like we contact e.g. TNT or DHL or FEDEX or UPS and get them to do a collection and deliver to us.

heres a video of the aircraft actually flying, the man in the video has not fitted the landing gear supplied here though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEuz_XksSqE
   Flexserve (75%)
That's the Windrider A388. NOT this one.
   brett1984 (77%)
no its not the windrider in the video, a man is selling these kits on ebay thats where the video is from tthe pictures are the same, so get your facts right before you say its not, i would post the ebay link but it would get removed
   Flexserve (75%)
Wow calm down dude! The fact that it is taped together down the center of the fuselage and that the edf pods are not painted silver as in the pictures above leads to this conclusion. No need for rudeness though.
   Flexserve (75%)
$577.88 USD for his kit. YIKES!
   brett1984 (77%)
sorry freeservwe i didnt mean it offencive, but if you wen on to the ebay page to see the price you would have seen the pics are identicle to the kit here that all......
   Flexserve (75%)
No problem dude, you were right though.. I stand corrected. already -7 in stock..This looks like a great deal, just hope the edfs and escs are good.

I found a video in www.youtube.com with a A380 that look very close to this onje, but the setup was 4xESC 40amp and 4Xlipo 11.v 25c 2200mah batteries, any way my question to JASON or anybody in Hobbyking is if you can confirm the battery requirements, because if 4 motors each consuming around 15amp (I did a wild guest) give 60AMP total can a 3000mah 20C 11.1V battery support all this? and how long the plane will fly with battery?

please let me know.

The video is at:

Recieved my A 380 FROM HK today , big box , again well packed for shipping and faultless service from HK.
Got working on this model straight away, keen to maiden it .
Positives:
Nice finish on EPO foam parts mate well.
Plane looks as good in the flesh as it's picture .
Instructions are pretty good .

Negatives :
One wing ,with my kit ,was supplied less it's wooden strengthener.
3 ESC's are fine , one was D.O.A .
Wing mounting bolts were a pain to line up with holes in fuz , frustrating as .
Tail stickers come already applied , the were supplied to me were noticeable crooked .

Minor issues really, and you shouldn't complain at this price, but unfortunately the dead ESC will force a postponement of the maiden !

Can't wait to get this model in the air ...

Jim .

Hobbyking can you please split this plane in 2 boxes so that we can all have this plane? This is going to be a best seller plane!!!!!!!!
   Wojtass_nt (49%)
I'm pretty sure that they won't do that :(
We're only customers... ***r customers.
   Jason5001 (-7%)
The fuse is the longest part. Splitting this into two boxes will cost more and the length of the box holding the fuse will still be too long for many countries. The box is around 160cm tall!

Pezzer. Adrian here from Aus. I have finished the A380 and its a beauty indeed. Can you advise the COG given that you have flown before me I assume it is where the battery is housed, but need to confirm, Also I am running a 4000MA battery which is 100 grams heavier. Let me know please. Adrian.
23/11/2009
jojoviudez (52%)
Looks like an air continental plane to me. oh my 4 ESC and 4 brushless motors, i would like to see this fly inverted and do loops, im sure that wont be a problem with this type of setup. however i am curious about the battery requirement, it says it only needs 11.1V 3000mah 20C Lipo. is this enough to have a nice flight for 4 motors? im sure it would be nice to see a video of this in action soon.
   Felar Furlong (85%)
in my opinion, this one can be flown iverted only once.
   BCBasher (85%)
Why Is that? just try up high first It'll either do it or fall back rightside up and dive. I've had a slowstick inverted for 20-30 feet it didn't like it but it'd do it. If this one has a rudder you can do a rudder roll wich is a low stress maneuver a Boeing demo pilot did one in a real 707.
23/11/2009
Felar Furlong (85%)
all i can say, wow! O_o
   zaskarkid (73%)
I hope the specs are correct b/c epo is heavy. So who got one?

   luckysoul (70%)
how to order when it over the maximum order weight?
   TrustyRuss (60%)
I am in Australia and I want one, but yeah, how to ship?
   boma (76%)
EMS to Aust up to 7 kilo's. So go for it
   gazza2009au (80%)
log in add it to your cart and it will tell u under shipping options weather it can be shipped to your country
i have received cartons of planes here in sydney, australia so it shouldnt be a problem as EMS allows over size parcels however australian post will not ship a box over 103mm in length
   Helicoy (47%)
I think we better bet for a lipo 3S 4000 inside for this 4 EDF !!
Imagine the flighttime for 1mn30 ...
   westpoint (10%)
How sweet. I'm able to ship to Canada with just 4 grams to spare!
   Naval Warfare (79%)
Why can Canada get it, and I can't in the US?. Ship a boatload to the DE warehouse and you'll make a mint. BTW, that battery isnt near big enough for a decent flight time.4500-5000 would be the minimum.
