What is a good replacement motor for this? It would be my first edf and Im worried about the motor burning out as it seems to be a common problem, so I would be ordering an extra motor just in case, any insight? Thanks

I want a motor to use on 3s and the stock 30A ESC, which of the following would be best?
http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10932&Product_Name=Turnigy_2810_EDF_Outrunner_4000kv_for_55/64mm
http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10986&Product_Name=Turnigy_2615_EDF_Outrunner_4000kv_for_55/64mm
This last one says it puts out 26.5A, is that ok with the 30A ESC?

The stock motor is an inrunner, all these are outrunners, is that a problem? What shaft do I need for the stock fan?
Thanks guys! I need this info because I want to get a spare motor in case the stock one burns out too quick.

Well that's a good idea, I just did what you suggested and it works perfectly! Don't know why I didn't think of it before... I also put an elastic band around the front just in case. And the best part is that I no longer have a little white peg to lose! Thanks j-bird!

To answer myself, the speed is about 120 km/h! This jet has one disadvantage, it has no fuselage on the bottom. You have to land on fuselage and wings, and this is hard due to high speed of landing. I will try to add some wood to make better landings, will tell soon ...

Why should there be a difference? From DE-Warehouse, you get this for 99 Dollars and 7,80 Dollar Freight to germany, it is already in germany. From HK, you pay something about 20 to 30 Dollars freight, and it is possible that you must pay VAT for it.

Hi,
The exact same thing happened to my plane as well.
I ordered a replacement EDF {EDF64 with ADH300 Motor Assembled 252W(4300kv) } for this and this works fine. I did not go for the motor only as there is nothing decent that works with a 3S.
And you may also have to balance the blades if you change the motor.

I have a new EDF with 4500U/V-outrunner, bought via E-Bay (force control) and this does very, very fine. More speed, but shorter flight time ...

My motor burnt out on 2nd day 5th flight as well (wtf). Using turnigy 1500mah, Motor cut out 30 secs into the flight... At first thought I'd used a dead lipo pack, plugged another pack and motor would only pulsate and started smoking from where cables exit motor :( I 'll try the {EDF64 with ADH300 Motor Assembled 252W(4300kv) }. * abhaypawar, how does this compare to stock setup? slower, faster?

hello, I have no idea of jet `s Electric! and I want one that flies very fast! This can put you 4s for increased performance? holds the engine speed, and the entire jet? I saw somewhere that they put most cells and walk very fast but you know what else to change? I hope you can understand! saludos Carlos.

This EDF should not be feeded with 4 cells voltage, it will burn. But, buy it and try it with three cells, then later you can change complete EDF-unit to a thing that has mor speed and/or can handle four cells Lipo ... A fast jet will be the Habu from parkzone, but look at that price! Habu's costs about 300 $ and speed is about 150 km/h, maximum with four cells... Very fast planes don't have an EDF, they have a pusher or front mounted motor ...

I bought this plane and fly it with 4s 1800 40c pack. The 4s WILL fry the stock motor!! Regardless of what battery you want to use, the CG is 1cm forward of the hatch bolt. It doesnt matter what battery you buy, you will have to cut some foam out. Other than that minor detail...this is a great plane! Ive had to bad launches and hit the ground hard but there's not a scratch on it! Very tough plane. our club now has 4 :)

The 3S 1800 battery that was supplied with my Art-Tech Jetiger fits snugly, has these dimensions: 27.5mm by 33.5mm by 77mm.
With very simple foam cutting, you can accommodate a a cross section of up to about 35mm by 41mm, without weakening the structure too badly. I would be comfortable with length up to about 110mm, the longer you go, the more likely you may have CG too far forward.

My Art-Tech Jetiger's 1300 battery is 21mm x 35mm x 71mm (btw, exactly the same as the company's Viper). It also fits snugly. Weighs 108g. Obviously, both batteries will fit. The heavier, the higher your airspeed will have to be to keep from stalling. Want more speed, use the bigger battery, which also probably gives a little extra power as well. My next flight, I'll probably try a 3s 25c 1000 (92g), positioned to keep correct CG, to see if I can get the airspeed down to a comfortable level for me.

I have an Art-Tech Jetiger, (painted with yellow-black tiger strips, red stylised tiger on the bottom, and tiger face on the vert fins, I actually dislike the mishmash of tiger motifs) It came with a 3S 1800mAh, which fits perfectly, although I had to cut foam to move the battery aft, to get the CG correct, (at the finger holds). I have broken the nose off many times, easy to glue back on. It is stable at medium-high speed, but not the easiest to fly slow. Tricky stall behavior.

kaon01, I have the same plane, only it came with a 1300, which makes the CG correct. Being the beginner that I am, I fabricated an EPP foam nose for it (original is plastic cone), and thank god because it saved me on the maiden flight. As you said, it flies very well at medium-high speed. With the 1800, you probably have to keep the air speed up even more to keep it from stalling. After a couple flights I decided it's too fast and responsive for this beginner, so I have put it aside until my skills improve. If you don't have experience with this sort of plane, I would recommend setting it up with minimum throw on the elevators for the maiden. Do you agree, kaon?

I don't know which way is better. I use a lot of expo setting in the Tx. When speed is slow, giving full up elevator can quickly cause a stall and uncommanded roll. Be careful.

I dont have any stall problems with my JETiger. I fly with 2200mAh, the CoG is a bit in front of the normal CoG. I can land with elevator at maximum, no stalling, but landing is hard due to the lack of a fuselage on the bottom... I have tried flying with Impeller at low power and full elevator, yes, it can fly on the jet, nice thing...
My motor burned after fifth fly, i had an other EDF-unit available bought at force control, now more speed but shorter flight times...

This is the Art-Tech Jetiger (only one "t"). Google it, and you'll find it all over the place. It's EPO. An 1800 will not fit without cutting and will probably be too heavy as well. I know for a fact that the RTF version comes with a 110g 1300 3s lipo, though the company website (art-tech dot cn) states 1800. The original looks way better than this HK version IMO.
