All that you will need to get this kit up and running is your own battery, transmitter & receiver plus 10 minutes building time. This model literally clicks together in no time!
Included with the kit is all hardware, landing gear, brushless outrunner motor, ESC and a spare propeller.

I have one Decathlon and I used Futaba 6EX Tx/Rx.... but all channels are reversed!! altough they are at Normal setting. Do I have to reverse ALL channels using the Tx? or is it a connection problem? HELP ME PLZ :(
   ShmeareD (39%)
Just go into the menu on your radio and reverse all the channels as long as they all move in the correct direction after doing this it shouldn't be a problem.

no!! is better if you get the AXN Floater-hobbycity****/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8359 looks just like the easy start is only 57 bucks is really easy to fly and you wont have trouble if you crash since the proppeler is on the back, the magnets on the motor sometimes get loose so get a replacement motor, only 4 buck here!!!, get maximum a 2200 battery, it give you a least 40 minutes of flying time!!

How many channels needed for flight? Can I use Hobby King 2.4Ghz 4Ch Tx & Rx (Mode 1)?
   biggbear (83%)
4 channels needed, aileron, elevator, throttle, ridder. 4ch TX should be ok.

Can I fit a (after some cutting to make extra room)
ZIPPY Flightmax 2200mAh 3S1P 20C
Dimensions: 103x37x24mm - 4" x 1.5" x 1"
in this plane?
   craig (19%)
Easy stuff,I cut the middle section out, then took the cover off the one closest to the tail.I then put velcro on the batt and the underside of the cover works good, and get yourself a apc prop 8 by 8 this is perfect for this plane, and i've tried alot of props this is the size, take the pants off the wheels as well.Hope this helps dude!

I know 3s 1800mah is acceptable for this plane, but is 20c an ok c rating? or should I get 30c? 20c would be much cheaper though, would the plane kill it if its that low of a c rating? Thanks guys.
   JackChen (57%)
20c vs 30c discharge rate is not that important for this simple trainer/aerobatic high wing. Is not like EDF's power requirement. If 20c is cheaper, go ahead.

This won't show in the review section. The plane fly’s great and has plenty of power, it comes with no instructions at all.
The speed controller has the brake on and I can’t find any info on it to turn it off. I have had no reply.
The wing has 3 pins on the front that hook into holes in fuse, the holes are smaller than the pins they need to be drilled out, there is no CG marking on the plane I used 60mm back from leading edge and it flew ok. The battery compartment underneath is too small for the recommended battery and to far back for the CG. I cut out some of the foam and plastic out in the top of the front of compartment so the battery could stand up further forward and Velcro to the front of compartment to help the CG.
Also on the first flight the wing strut unclipped at the fuse and broke on landing. I did not know that the bottom of the struts screw on to a section at the fuse, which clips off to easy, I drilled a really small hole from front to back of the clip and put a small safety pin through to stop the struts coming off. It took about 4 hours to setup ready for flight. The main undercarriage tends to bend in 30mm grass and little bit larger wheels would be much better and the spats jam in to tyres, as they don’t hook on the axel properly. Also if you have a u shaped clip left over it is for connecting the tail wheel to the rudder. Once all the little probs are fixed it fly’s great and are happy with the plane. Instructions would be nice.
   craig (19%)
Put some CA on the wing strut clips, get rid of the wheel pants, undercarriage always bends on mine to but it only takes a second to bend them back. The 3 pins,i put 2 wooden pins in mine just for extra security,i lost my wing on the first plane, those 3 pins are to short.Do yourself a favour and put a apc prop on it 8by8

Is it possible to fit a 1600mAh battery in this plane? What are the dimensions of the battery compartment?
   vision325 (46%)
Battery compartment is 70mm x 35mm x 32mm deep.
This would fit a 1300mah 3s perfectly if it wasn't for the battery wires so you need to cut out part of it to fit a 1300mah, easy to do. The 1600mah is 90mm long I think so you would have to cut into the servo compartment which is doable, only the plastic cage separates these two compartments. The extra weight is forward of the C of G which helps as this plane tends to be a little tail heavy with a 1300mah battery set up
   craig (19%)
Don't worry about 1300 i only use 1800 in mine, only have to cut the middle out of battery tray, depth is not a problem, and put velcro on batt and under batt cover.Plane does need some weight up front to get c of g spot on around 25-30grams but do your own testing on that one.

This might seem like a stupid question but does it come with a charger because it says only the TX and RX and a 11.1V 3S 1300mah lipo battery are needed.

Thank you. I didn't think so I just thought I had better ask.

dose anyone know if the tail wheel works or not? dose it turn with rudder?
   tuffrc (40%)
the tail wheel does turn with the rudder thay supply a plastic u shaped bracket that links the wire from the wheel to back of the rudder and has a screw through the rudder.

Does anybody know what the CG is on this Decathlon??
   Jason5001 (4%)
It's a standard CG for a plane of this type with this wing profile. 1/3 from the front of the leading edge of the wing.

So can we get a review? How does it fly? What is the build quality? etc ...
   herbedeb1 (32%)
I'd love to give a review on this Decathlon but I can't fly it. It came with no directions. OK no big deal except for one thing. I have no idea what the CG is. Won't fly it with out being balenced. Can any body help me out with the CG??
   eadward (70%)
Thge C of G of all aircraft is 25 to 33% back of the leading edge.
For example if the wing is 10 inches wide, the acceptable C of g is anywhere from 2.5 to 33 inches back of the leading edge.
   eadward (70%)
Oops! It should have read 2.5 to 3.3 inches
   tuffrc (40%)
the CG on most aircraft is 1/3 of the wing cord back from the leading edge witch was 60 mm back 2"3/8 from leading edge a little extra nose weight won't hurt.

Is it possible, that you bring this little plane also to the German warehouse? PLEEEEEASE !! If you do this, I guarantee, that I order one as soon as possible *-)
   Gianfranco (40%)
Yes, please, actually, offer all of the planes and heli's in German warehouse.
Belgian customs are a real pain in the a**.
If you offer these products in German warehouse, we avoid customs tax.
Thank you thank you thank you!!

On the way!
We just secured a larger warehouse in Germany and will be shipping planes there within 6 weeks!

Damn! I just found out that customers from Belgium can not place orders in German warehouse... :-((

What material is this? EPS?
   BCBasher (77%)
Looking at the hatch under the wing you can see its white foam painted red so odds are it's EPS. Usualy they use EPO as a selling point in the description aswell.

Nice, classics are always nice and this is also a very classic livery for the Decathlon.

I would like it bigger like the durafly c182 with similar details...

Is the single piece wing dimension making the shipping price soo high?
   Jason5001 (4%)
3.289kg isnt heavy really. It sounds heavy when you say Three Thousand Two Hundred and Eight Nine grams. But when you hold a 1.2mtr long box that weights 3.289kg you realise its not very heavy for the volume/size.
   Robbie (81%)
but let me understand that please, is that the actual weight of the box or is a weight that consider the costs of shipping relatively not only to the actualweight but also to the box size?

Thanks
   Sterling (57%)
Robbie, Actual weight of the plane (minus lipo) is 580 grams.
